I never understood the popularity of this place even under the previous ownership. Â It was never bad but certainly never memorable. Â Lunched there under the new ownership, and the server was very attentive and friendly. Â The menu lookd serviceable. Â The food was pretty mediocre. Â The clam chowder did not taste at all of clams -- it was like watery potato soup. Â The salads were OK. Â Coleslaw was awful. Â Corned beef and chicken on sandwiches were both tough. Â The HUGE (and unnecessary) steak knife had a loose handle. Â And the place just looks tired.
Review Source:We went their with a group for the first time to hear the live music. Â Good singer that singing a style to enhance the atmosphere. Â Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Â The minestrone had a unique smoky flavor. Â The Greek salad was average. However, the chicken saltimboca was great as well as my wife's chicken pompadour a pasta. Both pastas had great sauces. Saving the best for last was the modest bill. Â I forgot to mention on jWednesdays wine bottles are half price. Â We would definitely go back.
Review Source:Lunch time. Â Where to go? Â Ah, not that same old place - want to try somewhere new. Â Marco's? Â Okay, I'll give it a shot. Â Hey this is cozy, very friendly wait-staff too. Â Interesting menu, prices look right, this outdoor seating is pretty great! Â Oh, here comes our food; holy mackerel! Â Look at the size of our helpings, I'll have enough for leftovers for sure! Â My chicken stew is delicious, tasty corn bread. Â How's yours? Â I can't believe we didn't try this place sooner, is this a locals' hangout? Â Maybe I need to do the same, lets come back here again soon!
