I am a pizza person. I have tried to give Napolese a fair shake. I've eaten their pizza upwards of 5 times. Typically, if I get a bad impression on the first try I give up but after hearing all of my beloved friends tell me of the wonders of napolese, I thought I must be missing something.
One friend said, it's great! Better than Bazbeauz. She only gets the gluten free crust. I told her everything I had at Napolese was soggy and disgusting. She said, maybe it was a difference in the crust, so what did I do? I ordered a gluten free crust. Nah. Still gross.
Another friend said, they had just never experienced a soggy crust, so I tried it again.
Soggy & gross.
I give it one star for creativity. The toppings are original however unequally distributed they are.
I give it another star for proximity. Even though I don't like it, it's only a few blocks away.
NY pizza would laugh at this pizza and backhand it.
The Napolese double chopped salad was very good. Â This could be shared with 4 people. Â My wife and I shared the Hamaker pizza (sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms) and it was very tasty. Â The pizza is very similar to what you would get in Italy. Â They have a decent selection of wine. Â My wife had an amaretto soda after dinner and it was extremely tasty. Â We also hit up the gelato shop connected to the restaurant and it was a good topper for the evening.
Review Source:Just tried this place out for the first time, and will definitely be coming back. The pizza was great, and reminded me of a place I went to in New York City. Whereas most places worry about the toppings, and have the dough as a chewy afterthought Napolese really works hard to make sure their pizza rises above. The crust was crunchy and moist all at once, and had a flavor that added to the pizza and its toppings.
The toppings range from standard to unique, and the ones we tried were all present in sufficient quantities without overwhelming the pizza. Any place that offers white anchovies as a topping is automatically a cut above the rest, and I had to get my pizza with the salad on top. It was filling and refreshing all at once.
Their wine list was affordable, and we had a nice Barbera to go with the meal. Our waitress was attentive even with the place being as busy as it was on a Friday night.
The only disappointment came after we were told that they would have two of our favorite flavors, only to find out that they were out after we had ordered. The pistachio gelato was really wonderful, and I was happy with my second choice.
All in all it was  a great meal, albeit a bit pricey for pizza.
