We really only go to Sammy Hagar's because it's right on the beach, and the bar and bathroom access are clutch if you're spending the day on the beach. Â They also have waitress service, and those girls are put together...
There's not usually a cover during the day, but when we were at the Air Show, it was $10. Â That got you in and out all day though. Â Apparently, it's only during the days of events. Â Drinks are reasonably priced. Â Coors Lights are on special on Fridays, and Miller Lites are cheaper on Saturdays. Â They also have the 32 ounce Brawler which has half priced refills. Â The Brawler is a little pricey, but you get plenty of liquor.
Nothing spectacular, but it is what it is which is a bar on the beach with a good crowd, live music, and DJ's.
Live music, servers in bikinis (each one prettier than the last), great drinks (Skinny Girl Colada with Pineapple and Coconut infused vodkas, pineapple juice and club soda), beach location, limbo contest, dancing and the best people watching in Atlantic City. What's what not to like? Only one thing...restrooms which are one step up from Porta-Potties.
Review Source:For all you tourists......this is also known as Bally's Beach Bar. Â Yes, I was confused myself when looking in the Atlantic City entertainment newspaper and couldn't find Bally's mentioned anywhere until I realized it's really called Sammy's. Â You can find out what's going on every night of the week from the newspaper or the bulletin board posted on the boardwalk at the entrance of the beach bar. Â Each night, they have a different drink special. Â Normally there is at least one beer going for $3 each. Â They have a different live band here every night or something going on. Â I know on Wednesday is currently live raggae night and Thursday is karaoke night. Â My only problem with Sammy's is that the bouncers seem to be on a power trip and they literally spent a good 2 minutes staring at my ID and even checking its durability, before letting me in even though I look much older than 21 as it is. Â Otherwise, Â we had a great time here. Â What I like most about Sammy's is that you can literally see the ocean when sitting at the tables and feel the ocean breeze. Â I think Sammy's is the only beach bar where you can actually see a full view of the ocean and beach from the tiki bar itself. Â There was also no cover charge to get in.
Review Source:Every time I walked past this place on the board walk I wanted to go in, but never did because I was always on my way to something! Â Great location, and most nights I could hear a really good band doing covers of pop music. Â Will definitely hit this place up on my next trip. Â How could you not want to sit on the beach, have drinks while serenaded by a good cover band, and chill?
Review Source:Great Spot! Â Came here on a Sunday night not expecting much, but there was a good crowd and lots of beats flowing from the DJ.... I'm a fan!
Drink specials were OK (I do realize this is a beach bar owned by a casino on the boardwalk), but still nothing outstanding. Â The Strawberry rum specials were pretty good.
This place was oddly fun. Â Stopped here on the way to Revel, $4 cans. Â And they have awesome cans, Yuengling, Blue Moon. Â The band that was playing, Garden State Radio (if I remember correctly) was awesome too. Â Nice and open, huge bar, lots of tables and chairs as well, and obviously on the beach.
The reason i'm giving it only 3 stars is because we came back muuuuch later, and there was a huge cover, drinks more expensive, and the DJ was just mediocre. Â
If it's a little earlier in the night, worth stopping by for a few drinks.
Pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. Lately, eating in Atlantic Beach has been a crapshoot, but the steamed shrimp were huge and delicious and the soft shell crab sandwhich was perfect -- one of the best we've had. Sawyer, our waitress, was also quite attentive and polite.
Review Source:Nice fun place. Right on the beach . Drinks are reasonably priced with great prices for a beach bar. Small menu but good in a pinch. Â Great bartenders. Great waitresses wearing the coolest bikinis. Girlfriend hates the bathroom. $10 cover for band a great value. Only complaint was the band was supposed to start at 8 but didn't hit till 9:30
:(
Finally a place where you don't feel ripped off
Old limes, canned beers and rude staff.
We wanted to get a round of drinks at what we thought looked like a fun place. None of the whoreish looking staff approached, so we went to the bar and just received dirty looks from the bartenders.
My friend finally got Dan's attention, and he was a real ass.
The coronas were warm, and the limes were at least two days old.
$31 for three old coronas and a crown and cran that was more like a plastic Dixie cup with all cran and a whisper of crown.
Never again for me.
Went to this beach bar for the first time last week and we had a great time. They had a Happy Hour on Wednesday night which included $4 Belvedere drinks. You know I took advantage! HA HA HA HA It also happened to be 80s night which was a lot of fun. The crowd is mixed in age from 20s to 40s and everyone had a great time singing along to the "oldies" and dancing by the DJ booth. The best beach bar in AC. I can't wait to go back! :D
FYI - No need to run to the Casino when the drinks go "through your system" (lol), they have a trailer with 3 sets of bathroom in the back. YESSSS! Â ;)
Did not eat, but had a few drinks.
Nice staff, good service, and they wear bikini's during the day. Not a bad place!
They have  a guitar they will fill with, well I am not sure. But you can get one and try it. Must people I saw were half way through one and they or the guitar had hit the floor at least once.
Fun place to hang out.
What a fun atmosphere! Â Everyone had smiles on their faces, sipping their fave cocktails on a beautiful, sunny day, on the beach in Atlantic City. Â We rented chairs and an umbrella on the beach and sipped our ice cold beers of choice listening the the music pumpin' and watching the people dancin' on the beach, doing the Dougie!! Â How fun does that sound!!! Â Friendly, fun, chaotic and great place to relax and enjoy the real JERSEY SHORE!!!!!
Review Source:Probably the best spot to watch Atlantic City's Fourth of July Fireworks show. Â Also, a nice spot to hang out and get a drink day or night. Â The crowd is eclectic and diverse and the view is excellent. Â The music is live in the day and fist bumping Jersey Shore style at night. Â I was a little embarrassed that the guy collecting the $5.00 cover charge on Fourth of July asked me and two other attractive women in line with me to step back exactly three inches while he allowed his buddies to enter for free. Â I guess you had to be there, but trust me when I tell you his behavior was silly, rude, and unwelcoming - especially because we were the only people standing in line. Â I approached the register after being waved on by the bouncer and all of the sudden the guy at the register is like "SIR, step back SIR!" - like a cop making an arrest. Â Aside from that little incident - the location is nice - but that typical Atlantic City service industry attitude is getting in the way. Â Bartenders also seem a little sick of there jobs and move VERY SLOWLY. Â I guess they don't make their money from tips. Â They must have a very high base pay that incentivizes them to stand around and yawn while people are waiting to buy drinks. Â I've noticed this at almost all the Caesars Hotels. Â If Caesars/Ballys worked on improving the attitude of their employees I think they would have fantastic destination casino hotel - and Sammy's Beach Bar would be a great amenity for people on summer vacation.
Review Source:holy shit.
waitresses in bikinis....like hot college waitresses.....in...skimpy....bikinis.
giant beach bar with a huge dance floor, great cover bands and a mediocre DJ.
tough to get seats, but if you do, sit back and enjoy the friggin show....black dudes that can't dance hitting on white chicks that can't dance (that's a given)...
miller lite drafts are $3...prepare to get shizzatfaced.
this place is gold.
Let me start off by saying that Sammy's Beach Bar has secured itself some prime real estate in the eyes of AC day drinkers. Â Located right on the beach in front of Bally's is an excellent location for a bar. Â
Daily specials like $3 miller or coors light bottles or $5 jack and cokes make this place a dream among the otherwise pricey offerings typically found in beach bars.
The speacialty cocktails (tall vegas style drinks) go for $13 and are very hit or miss in terms of flavor, sweetness, and strength. Â You are best off asking your server for the best option according to your preferences.
The food is overpriced for what you get. Â It all comes from Pickles Restaurant which sits up on the boardwalk. Â Basically they put in your order and a runner goes back and forth between the bar and restaurant with to-go boxes. Â You are better off walking up to Pickles and just ordering yourself
We tried a salad and battered shrimp. Â The shrimp were okay. Â The salads were crap (rubbery chicken, soggy tortilla chips, and the cardboard taste of the to-go box didn't help either). Â The fries that came with the shrimp were nicely seasoned but a little soggy.
It is hard to get tables as people like to hang for a while but if you stand like a hawk you can swoop in and snag something when you see a group start to collect their things. Â There is a 90% chance your waitress will be smoking hot and in a bikini. Ours also happened to be very nice and not a stuck up b!tch (win). Â If you do want something nice to look at make sure you sit at a table because the +50 year old women and men actually working behind the bar might not do it for you. Â
They also have two cornhole sets and live music so there is definitely something to do if you want a break from the hot sand.
I don't see why they don't have a window facing the beach so that you can order your drinks right onto the beach. Â That would be so much better.
