I came here on a Saturday afternoon after visiting the USS Iowa in San Pedro. A bit quiet when we came in, pretty light on ambiance. This is your typical pub, typical pub menu. Nice they brew their own beers, but even of that selection I didn't think any of them were hugely impressive. Overall, solid across the board.

We shared the beer sampler, again, all pretty good although I wasn't a huge fan of the pilsner. The hefeweizen was probably the best, also the pale ale.

Service wasn't fantastic, our waitress placed our order but then came out 10 minutes later to say that the kitchen had lost one of our group's orders. So they retook that one, but then that order came out first, about 5 minutes before any others! It was very strange.

But the food was good, we had one hamburger, a grilled chicken sandwich and a greek calamari salad. Like I said at the beginning, it was all solid, no complaints, but... nothing really stood out as being fantastic.

Wanted to come here on the 4th, but most of SP was shut down :/
Ended up coming back the next day, not sorry. I had the fish and chips..huge, and seriously delicious. My husband had the bbq ribs/chicken combo...again gigantic, and he polished it off. I had an Ale, it was pretty good. Our server was friendly and attentive, and she even gave our son some "worms" for dessert : )

Came here a few months ago with a group of friends after spending a "free birthday" day on Catalina.  On the return trip, I yelped for restaurants near the marina in which we were returning.  Found the San Pedro Brewing and we headed over.  Found a nice, ample parking lot across the street and headed into the bar.  It was pretty crowded even for a weeknight.  We were seated in the outer room open to the street so it was quite a bit quieter than the rest of the restaurant.  A few of us ordered the "beer sampler" and it turns out that was the highpoint of the evening.

Some of the reviews say that the food was good and even more say the food was poor.  I'd have to agree with the latter folks.  Even though the stuff piled on my cheeseburger was tasty, the hamburger itself was overcooked, dry and nearly tasteless.  I had to add ketchup, mustard and one of their tasty IPAs just to get to down.  I can see people come here for two reasons - it might actually be the best gastro pub in town and the ambience exudes that trendiness that most twitterers require in their lives.  If I came back again, it would just be for the beer and the fries.
