The Whale & Ale

Stopped in for a late lunch before heading out of town. We were drawn to the Whale & Ale for the fish and chips, but after looking at the menu and seeing a price of $15.95 I wasn't so sure I wanted them. Instead, we ordered the calamari and the sausage rolls to share, also a cup of beef barley and a cup of clam chowder. I personally think it's one of the best clam chowders I have had. It was creamy with great flavor, added bacon seals the deal for me. It could have used a little more clam, but the flavor was awesome. The rest of our food was very good, no complaints. Shannon was our server, very attentive and super friendly. It wasn't busy, only a few other tables seated while we were eating. We didn't have dessert, but the young boy next to us had the chocolate molten lava cake with ice cream... It looked so yummy, he thought so too.
Overall we had a great experience.

Nice British Style Pub

Better than most Pub Grub, the fish and chips was great.

I hear they have not 1 but 2 good happy hours.

Came here with some coworkers after work. We all tried the fish and chips.  Now we can't find a better place or at least that's now the standard of measure. "Is it whale and ale good?" We also had a beer and played some darts as we awaited our food. They also have a good house condiment. Ask for the house sauce! Btw came back with my wife and she enjoyed the shrimp version of fish and chips.
