Wow so glad I read reviews to find out about this place! I would have never known about their half priced menu at the bar on Sunday unless I did (I think it starts at 5 or 5:30). The place was empty so I don't think anyone else knew either, plus I found it weird Showboat didn't advertise it more? Anyway, all their sushi and fried rices (lobster fried rice and kobe beef fried rice) and other stuff was all half off! They have a little sushi guy who makes it on the spot and he is awesome! Everyone I was with raved about what a great find this was!
Review Source:Went here with some friends over the weekend while down the shore. Â I really can't say anything bad about this place. Â The food was terrific. Â I had the filet which was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Â I also had the lobster bisque soup with was out of this world. Â Also ordered a couple sushi rolls which were very enjoyable. Â Service was great and prompt. Â Atmosphere is upscale. Â Make sure you plan on spending plenty of money as this place is not cheap. Â I don't mind dropping some coin for a great meal.
Review Source:I went to Scarduzio's saturday night  with a party of 9 for a bachelorette party. Earlier in the day we had an unpleasant experience with the hotel it's in and customer service, so we were skeptical.
Our waiter, Jeff, was great. He was thorough and polite about our bachelorette-y antics. As our food came out everything was really delicious. 4 of us ordered steak, 1 ordered chicken and 4 ordered sushi for dinner, along with several apps, salads, soups and sides. Â I had the Scarduzio's Salad which was amazing. Some of the girls had the lobster bisque which they really enjoyed. We were off to a great start.
The entrees began to arrive, and all the steaks looked (and apparently tasted) perfect. I'm not a steak girl, and they looked amazing even to me!!) Â We waited patiently for the sushi entrees to arrive, and Jeff came over to apologize for the delay. We weren't rushing, had plenty of sides to try out and were happily chatting, so it was fine. (The lobster fried rice, mac n cheese and mashed potatoes were great!) Then, the manager (Chris, i believe) came over and apologized as well. We thanked them for the apology and continued to wait. Â
The sushi ended up being quite delayed, but we never even had to ask about it. Jeff and Chris were dilligent in keeping us updated, continuing to apologize, and offered us a lovely compensation for the hold up. It truly could have been an annoying situation, but their attention to customer service really saved it, and we took it in stride.
Luckily the food was really delicious, and we were stuffed by the end. Incredible job to both of them for not letting a kitchen backup become a customer service fail. Â We would come back any time!! Â 1 star off for the glitch in timing and i wasn't in love with the Scarduzio roll in the end, but looking forward to a 5-star trip next time!
After coming down to AC on a whim this weekend, we decided to eat dinner here since it had steaks on the menu and high-top tables where we could eat while watching the Final Four game (have to have your priorities straight, after all). The restaurant was pretty empty for a Saturday evening around 9 PM, so getting seated was not a problem at all, and we had clear view of the Syracuse-Michigan game...so no complaints there. Although there are comments about bad service, our waitress who was covering the high-tops and the bar area was very cool - took our orders quickly, had our food come out, and shot the breeze with us for several minutes on end. If anything, the service was, on average, a net positive to the experience here.
I was a bit skeptical about the food coming in, seeing the prices - I've been to steakhouses that serve $40-50 steaks and don't quite meet the value proposition. Here, though, I was pleasantly surprised that the 8 oz. filet was very well-prepared - extremely juicy, even without ordering an additional sauce on the size. The filet is also has decent thickness to it, meaning you're getting a good hunk of meat on each slice. We also ordered a side of lobster mashed potatoes, which were also really good - a bit on the buttery side, but very richly flavored, with chunks of lobster sprinkled in to add a nice touch of seafood to the dish. We ended up going a bit overboard and getting dessert as well, taking down a couple scoops of ice cream and a piece of 7-layer chocolate cake to go with a shot of Bailey's and a chocolate martini. The martini was really good; I'm not a fan of martinis generally, but the infusion of chocolate and Bailey's really helps mask the bitterness of the drink. The cake is gigantic...definitely don't try to eat it on your own. It's pretty much your standard rich chocolate cake, delicious in its own right but not anything spectacular. The ice cream was pretty standard, although the beer ice cream that was available (as it's Beer Week in AC) was pretty good - not sure what beer was used in its making, but it added a nice undertone to the ice cream instead of dominating the milky nature of it.
In all, I was pleasantly surprised and had a very good meal here overall. It's definitely a little on the pricier side, but given the other options available in Showboat, this is probably one of the better places to go (if not the best). And on its own, it's a pretty solid steakhouse by itself.
Waitress, snippety and not very attentive, for the 400 check i would have liked a little more hospitality
The $22 shrimp appetizer only has 4 shrimp
the spicy tuna sushi roll was yummy
filet mignon steak cooked perfectly and great size
The sides were expensive and  terrible
Lobster mashed potatoes .. umm where was the lobster it didn't even have the taste of lobster ... mac and cheese was flavorless and the spinach was like tasteless ...
creme brule was just ok, and the peanut butter chocolate desert was like a hostes cake
Bad food, bad service i recommend going elsewhere. or just ordering sushi and steak because they were excellent.
Great food. Horrible service.
We were not given menus when we sat down. Our waiter did not know what an Arnold Palmer was. They could not split a salad on two plates for us. And our plates were left at our table forever after we were clearly done eating. The restaurant was full but definitely not overly busy. Also everything took forever: the food, the bill, filling up our drinking water.
But with all that being said, the food was awesome. I orders the steak filet 16 oz with the bone in. It was delicious.
Summary, if this place cleans up it's management and trains it waitstaff then this place could be a top spot for a great steak.
OMG. Do not be fooled by the fact that this restaurant is in Showboat because it is more than outstanding.
Having been here a few times, the service and food are consistent so I continue to come back. Everything here is amazingly good. The lobster fried rice is my favorite. The decor is beautiful and the service is wonderful.
While it is not cheap, it isn't too pricey for Atlantic City standards. Perfect for a night out with your significant other or for a party. There is also a great bar located inside.
First off, there was a fair amount of latency with the service. My guest and I arrived there and waited five minutes, at least, to be helped at our table. The service, when they provide it was decent, nothing to write home about. Lastly, the most important part, the food was so-so. You did get a reasonable portion for the amount you paid. The cocktail was on point.
Review Source:This is a pretty good place to eat in AC.
It is located inside the Showboat Hotel and Casino on the first floor. We came here to see a GARBAGE concert and needed to eat something quick. First, we stopped into the HOB restaurant but it was super UN-FRIENDLY to vegetarians/vegans, so we decided to take a look at this place. It had some Asian/sushi options, so it was better than wings and burgers for me.
The restaurant does not seat walk-ins before 8:30pm, but luckily, we could eat at the bar. Â It was a nice spacious bar and the bartender was very nice. He also let me charge my cell phone while we eat.
The menu is pretty confusing. On the one hand they offer Italian/American dishes, and then on the side bar, they have some Japanese offerings. I was pretty skeptical, since you can't obviously execute all the different cuisines all equally well.
I opted to order from the Japanese menu and my friend did the same. I started off with the miso soup ($9) and also vegetable futomaki roll ($12). My friend started off with mac n cheese side ($5) and ordered a shrimp tempura roll and a tuna roll.
They also start you off with a copious amount of bread, flatbreads and muffins.
You can't really screw up miso soup, so that was good. The vegetable roll was fresh and the rice was executed correctly with a slight flavor of vinegar. My friend told me that the mac n cheese was really good and that both rolls were better than some he had in NYC. The final verdict is that this place delivers high-quality food albeit quite expensive.
If you're in this building, it would be a good choice.
I very rarely write reviews, however I felt the need because of the truly outstanding experience I had here last week. Â I took my boyfriend there for his birthday last week and both of us were blown away by the whole experience. Â It was on-par both food and service-wise with any 5 star dining experience I have ever had. Â The staff and manager Bob were fantastic-and even surprised my boyfriend with a piece of cake and sang happy birthday! Â The food was phenomenal- I strongly suggest the Kobe Beef Lettuce Wraps and Prime Rib. Â Everything was cooked to perfection and courses were spaced out nicely. Â The environment was warm and intimate but still lively. Â Next time I am in Atlantic City I will definitely go back!!!
Review Source:The presentation of the food is amazing.Fried rice is the best I have ever had.The versatility of the menu ranging from the juicy steak to sushi and chinese selections is like no other restaurant in the Atlantic City area. The staff is realy nice and friendly and efficient.. The room manager checked on us often and probably was the best restaurant manager we have seen in a long time.We observe quite a bit, because we own a restaurant in Manhattan...Our waitress Nikki was very very nice. Â We enjoyed ourselves and will be back soon...
Review Source:Lets start by saying i was very reluctant to go inside because i felt as if i was UNDERdressed until i seen a young woman exit the restaraunt with something similar to what i had on.
The hubby and I frequent the ShowBoat quite a bit and since its Valentines Day we wanted a nice place to sit down and enjoy a meal together.
This place is very elegant with modern simple decor, dimly lit and makes the perfect setting for a romantic evening. Our waitress was named Janet whom was great at what she does, she assisted us with our menu selections and if we asked her a question that she was unsure of she went and asked unlike most waiters/waitresses do; they tend to guess or altogether totally ignore your question. I felt a little bad since, i mean it wasnt awfully crowded but it was a bit busy and Janet was the only waitress on our side, which she handled pretty well.
I ordered the Mustard crusted salmon and we both shared a appetizer of Lobster stir fried rice, which was definately something to talk about. My hubby ordered a steak and some Lobster mashed potatoes which i sampled and were great as well. My hubby is a spirits person and complimented the Mixologist on how well he made his Long Island Iced Tea. I guess its hard to find a place that has the components of making one of these down to a "T". Overall service was excellent, and the food was awesome. Prices are a bit steep but for the experience i recieved today i would say it was every bit worth it for a memorable Valentines Day. I would definately return and highly recommend this place to anyone that loves great food along with good service.
I am so honored to be the first yelper for this glorious establishment! :)
On Sunday night, myself and four others were trying to find a restaurant to have some steaks. It was our first time staying at Showboat so we decided to give Scarduzio's a try since it was right downstairs. I was really skeptical of the restaurant because it mixed sushi and steaks, but it was closest so why not. We didn't have a reservation so we were seated in the lounge area, but then Bob (the amazing manager) set us up with a wonderful table near the windows in the main dining room. From start to finish the meal was absolutely F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S, along with the experience of it all. Jeff "from the Bronx" was our server and was absolutely magnificent. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and also a lot of fun! To start we all ordered the seafood plateau and the scallops - both were fantastic! The seafood tasted like the chef literally walked over to the ocean, picked it out, cleaned it up and sent it to the table. The lobster was incredibly sweet, oysters were so fresh, crab was great, and the shrimp were huge and wonderful. My friend who normally runs from oysters like the plague even enjoyed them. The scallops, also excellent, were buttery and delicious. They were larger scallops which was nice for sharing. Like big fat fatties we all soaked our bread in the scallop sauce, leaving not a drop left! So yummy!
Ok, on to the really important stuff.. THE COWS! I eat steak A LOT. and by a lot I mean all the time, whenever I can, my cholesterol could be of the charts and I wouldn't care kind of meat-eater. I ordered the 8 oz. fillet and it was literally one of the best I have ever had in my life. The fillet was crispy on the outside, and SO buttery and creamy on the inside OMG literally it was so freakin good. I wanted to make out with the chef/magician for serving me this piece of meat. I ordered Bearnaise as well (always to accompany my cow) and while it was delicious, I barely even used it to savor the taste of the steak. The fillet was drizzled with a bit of this peppery tomato sauce and it was wonderful, adding just a bit of heat. My friends ordered the prime rib, the sirloin and the chicken and all were absolutely obsessed with their meals. The truffled mashed potatoes were also fabulous, so creamy and decadent, and the truffle was not overpowering at all. Even the sour cream was amazing. The presentations were also beautiful. Ugh, take me back..
We all cleaned our plates and were stuffed, but Bob (the manager) sent us out an orgasmic dessert platter to share. SOOOO GOOOOOOOOD. I had run to the bathroom quickly and apparently when the dessert came out the creme brulee was on fire. Since I missed it, Bob sent out ANOTHER creme brulee just so I could see the presentation. Had my boyfriend not been there I probably would have proposed to this man (I know, between the chef, Bob, Jeff.. yes, this meal was making me slutty). I gave them all hugs before we left. You know you've had a good meal when food literally makes you feel euphoric.
From a New Yorkers standpoint, the prices were pretty reasonable. $33 for a fillet, $40 for the sirloin (14 oz.), $28 for the chicken, etc. It works well for a group, as the seafood plateau was $100 but was great to share between a larger party. The atmosphere was romantic, relaxed and lovely. Oh, and the martinis were great too!
I was in a food coma for hours but wouldn't change a thing. Hands down one of the best meals of my life. THANK YOU SCARDUZIO'S! Thank you Bob, Jeff "from the Bronx", and chef! I love you all! Next time I am in AC I will be running to you with open arms and an empty stomach!!
