I recently hosted a singles event at this location. While the event went well and the staff were very accommodating, the owner verbally harassed me. In addition, he called the client, probably to save his own ass from harassing me, and as a result I lost the account. The owner is rude, intimidating and harassed me. Do not support this business. He deserves to go out of business.
Review Source:Based on the servers alone I WISH I could give a better review. HOWEVER... Â We went in with reservations on a Friday night. There were only a couple people at the bar and the entire place smelled of urine and Pine Sol. We had just moved here from Chicago and was very excited to see a piano bar/restaurant in Springfield. The pianist, while a pretty good musician, had incredibly awful/rude patter with the audience. The drinks were fine but pricey, the entrees were just not good. I had scallops the size of a nickel and consistency of pencil erasers. My other half had a chicken dish and after finishing it made 2 trips to the bathroom to throw up. I spent the night sleeping on the couch to be close to the bathroom and didn't leave the house the next day. Again, the servers were quite attentive and apologetic but unable to adjust our pretty staggering bill for a sad sad dining experience.
Review Source:I really love the martinis at this place. They are amazing, delicious, and huge. Their menu is extensive and very unique. The atmosphere at this place is great as well. However, I really wish the food was as good. It is frozen and tasteless. I had my first dinner here 4 years ago and remember the quality being much better than what is is today. Perhaps the menu should really focus and appetizers and general bar food rather than seafoods, steaks, and pastas. I think the quality of the food is really hurting this place so please make a change Shakago.
The drinks are 5 star worthy but the food is only worth half of a star. I gave this review 3 stars because of the drinks. I hope this review is helpful to the owner.. food is just as important as your drinks if you are going to serve it at your place.
Not sure why this place is getting such bad reviews. The Martini's are pricey but large and the menu is extensive. The Bartenders are excellent and friendly. The apps are also great. I can't speak about the rest of the menu. This is a different spot to check out out great atmosphere as it is what it is, a Piano Bar.
Review Source:Not very good at all. Â Boy, let me say the crowd that sits at the bar and drinks is quite pretentious. Â I like to wear jeans and a cute top, my curly hair up, makes me little like an American eagle hippy, but boy did i get the stare down. Â It was a mam and me date...It was not the cleanest and the decorations..cheap! Â We looked at the prices, may I just ask why Springfield, MA restaurants charge more than most Boston restaurants...this baffles me. Â Food took about 45 minutes to come out, we both ordered fish on the medium side. Â Well, I knew why when I got my food..they do not use fresh food, it was clearly frozen, the fries pre-packaged and frozen. Â And as we sat, waiting for our food we watched as the horrible appetizers were served..white bread with yellow cheese...So do people actually think they are "classy" when they pay 9 dollars for white bread and fake cheese? Â nasty! Â Good thing this was a groupon deal or we would have busted and not paid. Â The service was horrible too!
Review Source:Drinks are pricey but large. Â The food is reasonably priced and very good, especially the apps. The bar service has always been spectacular though i cannot speak for the floor staff. Â The four stars comes from the ambiance alone. The place is as stated, a piano and martini bar. It's a great place to wind down and have a drink and some food in place that still shows class in a somewhat tasteless world.
Review Source:Terrible food. Terrible service. Went there for dinner after finding a groupon. The owner had to "verify" that it was still good and took about 15 minutes to do this. There was only one large party and me and my date. Sat around for a good 20 minutes until one of the two bartenders/waitresses took our order. I ordered a "new york" sirloin steak and she ordered a salad and we ordered an appetizer plate. In short the appetizers were all frozen junk you could get from the supermarket. The salad was a joke. For an $8-10 dinner sized salad you get this small bowl of lettuce with chedder cheese and boiled chicken on it. Now for the best part...my steak...WAS BOILED. SERIOUSLY?! What "restaurant" or place that serves food BOILS a steak? I would have rather eaten that thing raw then boiled. I guess this is why people go here for martinis and drinks...oh yeah there was no piano player either. Owner should realize that his food is dog **** and fix something. This place needs to be one those reality tv shows where the professionals come in and make a mockery of these failing restaurants.
