I bookmarked Sharky's when I first found out that it had replaced the old Boonton Avenue Grill...a place we used to hit up a couple times a year. Â Finally, I had a chance to give it a try and my kids and I had a very good lunch. Â We used to be pretty fond of the old Boonton Grill's menu, but I had heard good things about Sharky's and they came through.
I checked in and found a $5 off coupon on Yelp which confused the waiter a bit, but he came through after talking to the manager. Â We were pretty hungry so we ordered some normal pub food that we could all try...
I ordered ten wings- 5 Thai chili (which I ate myself since the kids aren't into spicy food yet) and Maryland which were butter and Old Bay.  Absolutely loved the wings-even if they were a little small.  Done to a nice crispiness on the outside yet tender in the middle.  The Thai Chili sauce was out of this world, while the Maryland sauce could have used a tad more Old Bay.  I also ordered a chicken jalapeño quesadilla which was also very good-my only complaint was that the filling didn't go out to the edge of the quesadilla.
My son LOVED his Bacon cheeseburger-nice sized burger with crispy bacon...how can you go wrong there? Â My daughter had two plain hot dogs (slacker), a Caesar Salad (which was honestly-perfect) and French onion soup which was tasty, but needed about 15 more seconds under the broiler.
The kids and I had a very good lunch on a day a took off just to be with them (their spring break) and the mela didn't break the bank. Â Here's the best thing I can say about Sharky's...I can't wait to go back with some adult friends so I can try some new food and toss back a few beers in the process!!!
This place is a good place for beer and drinks, but their food is not impressive. I went there recently and got a buffalo chicken sandwich, which was supposed to come with lettuce, tomato, and blue cheese. They only brought out a piece of chicken and when I asked for the other stuff a person brought out a slice of tomato and once piece of lettuce to put on an entire sandwich... waste of $10. We will only go back for fries/50 cent wings if we ever eat there again.
Review Source:I went to Sharky's for a friend's birthday gathering. Â Sharky's is a typical sports bar with TVs, beer and an expansive pub menu which features burgers, sandwiches and seafood. Â There are two main dining areas, and our party was given space in a far off section of the restaurant, allowing for a more intimate celebration amongst friends. Â The staff gets two thumbs up for allowing my friend to drink from a two liter plastic boot for his birthday (it was brought in from outside).
As for my meal, I ordered a lobster bisque to start off, followed by a roast beef melt with fries, and washed it down with a Yuengling (on special) and a glass of water. Â The food was reasonable in terms of taste and price.
The main drawback to Sharky's is that parking is limited. Â There is a municipal parking lot across the street, but there's a good chance that you may be finding on-street parking, and not necessarily close to Sharky's.
