Extremely disappointed after reading good reviews. Â Place is small, noisy and the pickles on the table aren't very appetizing. Â We were there on 7/22 and the service was really slow. Â Took almost an hour to get our meals. Â They were running out of food, too. To start off on a good note, the steaks were really great and the potatoes were decent. Â Everything else - not so good. The ribs were dry and not really edible. Â The mozzarella capreze was a miss, too - tomatoes not ripe. Â We were a table of 5 and it looks like any table over 4 is a hassle for them. Â We barely saw our server the whole night. Â I'd go back only for the steaks.
Review Source:There are times when my mouth is watering for a GOOD steak or burger. When this happens, we go to Arthur's. Their beef is tender, juicy and ALWAYS cooked to order. They have a simple menu, http://www.arthurstavern…, with daily lunch and dinner specials. Most entrees are a la carte, but the sides are worth the extra couple of bucks. Oh, each table also has a pickled veggie bowl - it might have pickles & peppers or cole slaw and pickles...you never know!
There's an upstairs dining area with a great view of Morris Plains and the downstairs dining area is by the bar - a great pub atmosphere! The servers are always friendly too.
In the mood for a French Dip? You may not find it on the menu, but they have one of the BEST because it's real steak on their famous fresh bread with melted cheese.
