Ristorante Benissimo

It was lunch out yesterday and this new italian restaurant in madison, hit the spot.  Unfortunately the sign  for the restaurant is on the side of the building and newcomers would drive right by.  Soup, arugula salad, veal dish, shrimp and asparagus on pasta were all excellent dishes.  I only wished there were more shrimp in my dish, it was excellent.  Have you ever had hard overcooked shrimp before, This was Perfectly cooked.

My friend Angela and I had dinner last night at Ristorante Benissimo and to our delight found the food, the owner and wait staff excellent.  The menu features many different dishes that you do not find on most Italian restaurants.  Angela had the pork and I had the stuffed chicken.  The pork was so flavorful and tender and the stuffed chicken was prepared to perfection.  I felt like I was eating some of my grandmother's cooking.  This restaurant is sure to be a success just through word of mouth.  I know we will definitely be going back there again!

This is an old restaurant location under new management so our dinner group (8) decided to give it a try. Overall, it seems that it is still going through startup pains and a bit understaffed.  After we got seated it took quite a while for anyone to bring us the menus,and then more time to take our order. Then two of our entree selection had to be changed because they had run out of them. Service was more prompt after they took the order and the quality of the food was good, both the appetizers and the entrees.For appetizers we had the baccala, calamari and buffala mozzarella and proscciuto specials.The best entrees were the ossobuco, brazzini and monkfish specials.
We'll probably give it a try again in a few weeks.
