I'm making my McKayla Maroney face - I was not impressed.
Another "work function" - actually met up with some of my old coworkers here for a retirement party and the CEO promptly tried to get me to renege on quitting the company to rejoin again. So that made things a tiny bit awkward. I mean, people usually quit for a reason, right?
Anyway, there were drinks and appetizers. I stuck to ginger ale so I cannot comment on the adult bevvies. BUT, it's the appetizers that were most disappointing. Like most places can fry something up and call it an appetizer and it'll be halfway decent, right?
Hmmmmmmm.
Calamari were underseasoned and not crispy. Gah! "Pizza" was a soggy mess that seemed like pizza toppings on some round thick tortilla. No crust to speak of....ick. Nachos were a disaster. Spinach artichoke dip went untasted but looked like one big gloppy solidified mass.
Bar food shouldn't be hard. I mean, it's kind of designed to be delicious with the copious amount of fat, salt, and carbs in it. Fried. Or covered with cheese. Repeat.
I will not be repeating my visit here!
Great beer selection and loose, friendly environment. The service is a bit slow in the bar area, but hey--it's the bar area. The food is good, but pricey. Not everything will knock your socks off, but there is plenty to like. Try the open-faced Reuben or any of the burgers. Hummus platter is also a great choice for group snacking.
