I died and went to garlic heaven. Everything is done right. Two of us came here on a Sunday for an early dinner and it was very quiet but I do know they generally require reservations. The spread, bread, and entrees are perfectly infused with garlic. I could not have left any happier. Do I recommend this for a first date? No. Do I suggest it for the second, third, and fourth? Heck yes. BYOB.
Review Source:We visited the Garlic Rose last night with another couple. Â It was crowded, so I second the Yelp recommendations for reservations. Â The hostess and waitress were friendly and helpful. Â The menu was interesting with lots of good choices from both the specials and the regular menu. Â The bread and pesto/cheese were very good. Â We shared the baked brie to start, which was excellent as other Yelpers have said. Â For entrees we had the rack of lamb special (good, but not great), rigatoni and sausage (outstanding), crab cakes (repeat customer) and a chicken special (clean plate club). Â The entrees all came with nice side salads and worth-the-trip Gilroy (garlic capital of the world) potatoes (except the pasta). Â Prices were reasonable, especially given it's BYO and our friends had a coupon. Â No room for dessert, but garlic ice cream was NOT on the menu.
Review Source:I loved everything about the Garlic Rose! Â The chefs and wait staff are amazing, and the food is unforgettable (in the good way)! Â If you haven't already, try the garlic ice cream (a truly unique experience for garlic lovers). Â The only negatives to the Garlic Rose is the parking situation, and the prices are on the higher end. Â I'll always recommend this place to couples looking for a cool new place to try in NJ. Â Great place to take a date, but just remember you're going to STINK afterwards!!!
I look forward to making another trip here!
