River Grille

I don't know if I should,  but based on some other reviews I will try this place again. That's why the 1 star. Stopped in because my wife had her girl friends over for dinner. Was hungry and thought a dozen wings would do the trick. Having had Mango Jalapeno wings at Buffalo Wild Wings, thought I would try here. Oh and before the food review, note to bartender, just because 2 hockey nuts come in wearing Bruin jerseys don't just switch channels while I'm watching a basketball game for 10 minutes and no, I don't care if they are "regulars" I detest hockey. Nice menu and my appetite got a bit larger and figured, why not something after the wings. Well the wings came out and I like my chicken wings moist on the inside, but the skin on these were wet which I found disconcerting. The mango jalapeno had hardly any bite, but even if they were, the wetness of the wings was just too much for me to enjoy. Forced down 6 and my stomach started talking to me and so much for ordering anything else. Another note to bartender, if someone leaves 6 out of 12 wings, maybe you should ask if they are okay. But when people are sitting elbow to elbow and the register is singing, like so many places, who cares, just as long as the $$$ is pouring in. While driving home, I was forced to side of road and there went the 6 wings and I have a cast iron stomach!

Quantity of food served can feed a small inhabited island.
Every dish served is large enough to take home for a minimum 1 additional meal and maybe 2.
Good Cheesesteak Sand.,.,
Artichoke appetizer very good except a strange herb I wish they would leave out.
Ahi Tuna appetizer is a meal in itself and tasty.
Hanger steak with plenty of tasty meat like the Cheesesteak.

And whoa, a Pabst beer on tap for $2.
When I told my friends, they misinterpret and said, "What, you had a "pap smear" for 2 bucks?.
(We don't go out with them much.)

How did I never find this great eatery before now?  I was looking through other Yelpers reviews and saw it.  For some reason it didn't catch my eye on prior searches.  Any who, very friendly service, tight seating (but who cares) and a tad loud, but we were in a grille not a library.  On to the good stuff, food.........Wow, the wing selection was extensive and the actual product was quite tasty.  My spouse's sliders were really good, with a nice amount of cheese and thick patties.  The Cajun grilled chicken on my salad was spicy (which is a strong plus for me) and the spinach/strawberry salad was fantastic.  They definitely were not skimpy on the toppings and the dressing was just the right amount.  

We will definitely be back and probably soon to be regulars.
