The Sidewalk Café

Amazing food. Great beer. But they would not let me live in the bathroom. 9/10 would totally live here!!

Really a 3.5 :)  The cuban hash and eggs (can't remember the exact name but its shrimp, sausage, potatoes and egs) is delicious.  Pitcher of mimosas is a great deal and the service - both bar and table was excellent. Was disappointed in the huevos rancheros; this was was an omelet instead of eggs with hash/beans/etc. i'll be back - only reason a 3 is that nothing was stunning.

I was trying to try one more burger place for Burger Week to qualify for the contest before flying home to California, so I ended up making a late night burger run. I ended up at Sidewalk Cafe, which is open (and serves its full menu) until 1:30AM.

I wanted to try Sidewalk Cafe's featured Burger Week burger anyway, since it sounded very unique (beef burger topped with Smithfield ham, fried oysters, and cucumber-peanut relish). The burger was very tasty and flavorful! It was a little dry overall, but delicious, and I appreciated the toasted bun. The burger was also served with fries. I ordered a cup of the soup of the day (white bean with bacon) too.

Portions here seem pretty generous, and the menu is extensive. The restaurant was a bit dark and noisy when I went, but it was 10:30PM, and a lot of customers were drinking at the bar. I can see how it might be a little work to find street parking during busy times of the day, since the restaurant is right on Main St. It's not really that big of restaurant either.

My waitress was very friendly, and checked on me several times throughout the meal. She apologized for the scraps on the table at the booth I had chosen to sit in when she brought the menu, and immediately wiped down the table thoroughly. She explained the specials of the day (which were written on a lined piece of paper), including the Burger Week deal. Little did she know that I came here precisely for Burger Week! ;D

Overall, the food is good, and the value is even better. The Sidewalk Cafe is also a great place to come if you ever need to grab a bite to eat late at night.
