I came here with a group of 7 during happy hour on a saturday evening. Â This is a MUST DO! Â All the apps are half off and most of the drinks are on special as well. Â We ordered the crab cake, fondue, cheese plate, calamari, and olive plate. Â All of them were AWESOME!!!! They were good for the the full price but with the half off even better. Â For 3 apps and 3 drinks the bill was under $ 40!!! This place is great, but the place was a little empty but with a group of 7 we were quite loud.
Review Source:Sky Bar was in my bookmarks of spots ot try and so this was the day. My bestie joined me for Happy Hour. Arriving around five in the afternoon the place was a bit deserted with only one patron hanging out at the bar and a couple of oldies in the lounge area laughing and reminiscing over cold beers.
This place has a great layout for a cozy laid back romantic evening with the sounds of live jazz/contempo music or just watching sports over appetizers and drinks.
Chelsie informed us that they have Happy Hour drinks and appetizers specials Mon-Fri until 7. The appetizer menu is very limited.
The pull pork sliders with sweet potato fries wasn't a winner but the Pom Martini was.
The outdoors seating, with a nice comfy corner sofa with the fire pit gives the Sky Bar an elegant vibe.
I will be making my way back to this spot to savor more of the essence from the music and full menu. Service provided by Daysha and Chelsie made our first visit devine.
This is one of those reviews I really hope the management reads. We live close by and visit fairly regularly because we enjoy having an adult, outside bar to go to and relax with happy hour. Also because it is a place that isn't overrun with a loud, smoking crowd, which is difficult to find in Grapevine. We hope it continues to be a fun place to frequent. Unfortunately we are noticing a change in the quality of food, drinks and the service. When I asked about the ingredients in one of the martini's the bartender was downright surly. The waitress, while sweet, was ignorant of the drinks on the menu or what variety of liquors were available.I had to find it on the POS system for her! The food quality is just not up to the standard that we have come to expect from the kitchen. Our appetizers  tasted flat and uninspired. Please step up and fix the personnel (try better trained servers and professional bartenders ) and kitchen (new chef) problems  so we continue to enjoy your great location.
Review Source:For my purposes, came here just to drink with a friend. Â They had a couch (my first preference), a relaxing layout, and a quiet atmosphere. Â The service was attentive without being intrusive, which is all I need. Â Four stars because I think it's a tad overpriced, and can't vouch for the food since I didn't try it.
Review Source:This is the only restaurant that I've been to that couldn't make the correct change for my cash payment. Not just the coins, they couldn't come up with the $4. So they brought me three and said she'd be back to bring me the rest. I had planned to leave a generous $7 tip, so I just needed some ones.
Anyway, a simple Cosmo was not made correctly and the appetizers were mediocre. My friends and I will look for another Grapevine haunt.
I've driven pass the Vineyard Steak House many times. Â Finally stopped by. Â Great decision.
The hostesses asked if I wanted to sit in the Sky Bar. Â They have the same menu. Â They also have a live band in the Sky Bar. Â So sit downstairs if you want a quiet evening.
They have a fruit infused vodka. Â I recommend trying it. Â Nice balance. Â Not too sweet. Â The way I like it.
The lobster bisque was above average. Â The texture could be smoother and thinner. Â Seems like they use flour to thicken. Â It was too thick. Â But the taste was good and there's a healthy amount of lobster. Â I rank it 3rd after Chamberlains and Old Hickory.
Some of the oysters were not cold. Â It was room temperature. Â They still smell and taste fresh.
The porterhouse steak was good. Â Done exactly as I ordered. Â Nicely seared and tasted great.
The highlight of the night was the service. Â Chelsea and Chasity were excellent waitresses. Â They took great care of me from the moment I sat down.
Will RTE.
First visit on Saturday. It took a second to find the entrance, but once there we had excellent service from out nearly due server. Key lime cocktail was rich and full of texture, it made you feel like you were eating desert.
It got a little busy about 11, but never unconfortably.
Good choice for small groups, but nay not be ideal for couples.
I'm rather sad to say that it will be a rare occasion that I will be in part of Grapevine anytime soon. I used to enjoy stopping by Sky Bar for a nightcap. Â The only issue I had was some of the live music could be a little overwhelming every so oftern. Â Otherwise the pours were generous, the staff was friendly and it was kinda cool to run in to Rick Stacy every now and then.
Review Source:One Friday night before going out to Dallas, my boyfriend and I met up with our 60 year old neighbors (yes I said 60) for a drink. We had driven past Sky Bar tons of time before and swooned over their huge 2nd story outdoor patio, but for some reason we just never went. Little did we know we weren't really missing much.
First problem...actually getting into the place is a puzzle. You see the Sky Bar sign, you see the people up on the patio...but what we don't see is a front door. You have to go around the back of the building (which may actually be the front???) and go inside the office/business doors.
After circling around for a while and feeling like an idiot you'll discover you must go up a treacherous winding staircase. (Note to future drunk self....you're going to break an ankle going home.)
After making it up the stairs you'll come to an elevator....get in....press the button for Sky Bar...and like a magic trick the other side of the elevator will open up into a dark hallway.....you just stepped into Skybar through an elevator that didn't even move. WTF?
So now you're inside.....kind of. Just keep going....keep going...a little further....ok now you're there. The bar is the first thing you see. Now it's time to get an over-priced drink from some of the slowest bartenders ever.
While you're waiting, turn around and take in the atmosphere. 50/60 year olds are getting frisky all around you, ordering expensive appetizers from the steakhouse downstairs and oh is that a live band in the corner of the tiny inside space? Why yes it is.
All I have to say is, this place is weird. Older crowd, expensive, really dark confusing lighting, bad location, bad entrance, bartenders who are counting down the minutes until they can get out of there...the list goes on and on.
On the plus side, the patio is amazing....if you can get a seat that is. Oops there I go being negative again. I'd say hit this place up if you live in Grapevine and have nothing better to do. At the very least you'll get some good old people watching in. ;)
Very very pleased with this nice spot in the 'burbs! We stopped in here after cruising the downtown Grapevine strip. Bartender (I believe his name was Terry) was super friendly and gave some suggestions. Not a lot of beers on tap, but the wine selection was excellent and bottle pricing was mid range expensive. Plenty of Tito's on hand for me and they had a frozen rum runner which the GF enjoyed. This is a cocktail and wine place for us....
The place was about 75% full at 9:30 pm and remained that way until about 11:30, when I guess the babysitters needed to go home and the place started clearing out. There was a good mix of young and older, with plenty of couples there enjoying a night out. We grabbed a seat on a couch, which we shared with a 1st date couple so that made for some interesting conversation. The live band was a great touch and they played the standards that the older crowd enjoyed- think Bon Jovi and Buffett.
The servers were punctual and made sure everyone was served - didn't get to try any food as I was still full from a great steak dinner so I don't know if they serve food at all. This place is located right above a steakhouse so if you have dinner there, make your way upstairs to the Sky Bar.
The patio had some nice chairs and tables set out, but I wanted A/C so I stayed inside. Grapevine still has put in a smoking ban so that's a minus, but not the bar's fault at all. Â Very cool setting for a lounge- had a good view of the Great Wolf Lodge in the near distance.
came here to meet a friend from work and have a glass of wine. eehh. it was nice, service was lacking, food was decent, but nothing about this place said my age or special. Â older crowd, maybe the same as most of the places in grapevine? i dunno, just didn't really do it for me. it was a little more expensive than i would have imagined also.
maybe i'll come back and just do dinner or something though, i'll come back and try a different angle!
We went here for a business function, having never been before. Â Except for being too cold and drafty, it was a nice place. Â They had live music, which is always a plus in our book. Â The food was GREAT. Â Some of the best teriyaki-grilled jumbo shrimp this bear has had in a long, long time! Â The drinks were good, and so was the service. Â The waitstaff were all dressed in tight-fitting black outfits, not Spandex, but close. Â The restroom was tidy and completely functional.
In short, the food and drinks were good enough to entice us to return and try out the main restaurant on the first floor. Â Review forthcoming!
Sky Bar is a very nice place - just a bit small. Â If you're looking for somewhere a bit quiter and more intimate - this is the place for you. Â The drinks are good and decently priced and there are couches inside with a decent view of Grapevine outside on the patio. Â Having only been there once, I do not know if music is there all the time, but they did have a live band playing (2 acoustic guitars) while we were there.
Review Source:I like the Sky bar area of this resturant far more than the dining experience. Â From the look of the menu and the cost of the food, I had anticipated some great italian food. Â However what I received was a really small portion of some really strange tasting ravioli. Â The ravioli was actually sweet! Â My friend had the shrimp linguini which I tasted....I was impressed with the freshness of the shrimp, but even their dish lacked something.
I still think Cafe Italia in Grapevine is far better! Â They are my golden standard in Italian resturants....
Ill probably be back for the bar...not the food.
Attention Cougars, MILFs, and wine lovers!! Sky Bar is new and now open in Grapevine above the Tuscany Art in Dinning restaurant. The greatest part of this place is the second story outdoor balcony that gives you that feel of being slightly above all the rest. The demographic seems to be catered towards the slightly older crowds but it wasn't hard to spot the young and trendy hiding behind a bottled beer.
Sky bar is the kind of place I can see someone going to meet up with a friend or enjoying a drink after work; better yet a glass of wine before its time to go to bed. The one draw back is the hours. The doors close at midnight Monday thru Saturday.
While I didn't spend too much time investigating the place, I know for sure I will be back. Check it out, anything is worth trying once..
