Nice little dive, dark, small. Parking in rear. Internet jukebox.

I freaking love this place!!!!! I spent a casual night before my birthday with friends here and had a blast. The bartenders are amazing! They are friendly and funny and sweet! The jukebox is fantastic! The entire atmosphere (patrons included) was incredibly friendly.

Drinks are ok crowd is mostly the Hollywood parasite 20 to 30 somethings that always talk about this or.that bout this screen play or movie that they are working on. which gets boring quick. If you hate it do much then quit. Drink specials on the board haven't change. Come update it. There are new drinks and liquor  flavors out there, just head to BEVMO. Overall its a good place, the music box, is more gimick then music, take your picture so you can instam-fackbook-tweet that is designed for someone that cares to tell people that they on the Burbank/NOHO border drinking here. But I would go back just cause the drinks are cheap and its close to my house.

Great little dive to grab a few drinks.  Bartenders are all nice.  Crowd looks like a bunch of regulars.  Have never been here on the weekend so I'm not sure if it picks up, but during the week it's pretty laid back.  There's a jukebox so you can pick whatever you feel like listening.

Definitely a good neighborhood bar. The staff is awesome, Erin is the best!

This place isn't too bad. It's got a decent crowd and the drink prices are alright. Good chill vibe on the weekends and deftly empty during the weeknights. But who goes out on weeknights, right? The crowd is a crazy mix of all different parts of the valley, check it out, it is worth a try.

The doorway smoking has got to stop though.

Cheap drinks, chill vibe, cool digital jukebox (not very sensitive to touch...or maybe I'm not touching it right?).

Came here with a friend on a weekday at around 8pm. There were a few regulars hanging out at the booths but the place wasn't busy. The bartender/waitress was adorable and very attentive. We ordered 2 Hendricks and Tonics, which are usually priced at $10 each (but I just love Hendricks!). When the bill came out, they were like $7 or something, such a steal!

    Cute bathroom :D

Love this bar. Reasonable prices. Divey atmosphere. Friendly staff.

I've been back several times and I still love it just as much.

I also love that they have internet jukebox setup so everyone in the bar plays tunes from their phone. Yay, technology and good beer!

Love this cozy little place.  And it is little.  Went for their NFL Sunday special and wasn't disappointed.  Great sports crowd!

Love it here! Cheap drinks and a friendly staff. It's small and not really a place to pick up on people but great for hanging out with your friends. You can pick music on the jukebox. I always bring people here.

Local place, local people, great prices. Gotta love it!

Place gets packed around 10p, so if you're like me and prefer quiet, just be ready to roll if it's a Friday or Saturday...or just drink more so you don't care!

Was looking for a local bar that was showing the UFC fight and found The Snug. It is a little bar that is clean and well decorated - a nice ambiance. Bartenders are friendly and attentive. The crowd is mixed, younger and older, some NoHo and some Burbank folks. It was a little crowded on Sat Night - maybe because of the fight. Otherwise on a regular night  I think it would be a relaxing spot to visit and make some friends, hang out with friends, or talk to the bartenders.

A jukebox, reasonable prices, attentive bartender, a smattering of board games, pinball, and photohunt.  What's not to like?   A little cozy, but far too clean to qualify as a dive.

Plenty of street parking on a Saturday.  Started to pick up around 11.

Less hopping on a Sunday, with just a couple people sitting in the dark watching football solo.  There appeared to be free chicken wings though.  And did I mention pinball?

Came here early around 9 pm on a Saturday night.  It's a small, but clean dive with a very friendly staff. The bouncer even reminded me to make sure to renew my license since it expires in a couple of months. How sweet is that?

We sat at the bar and were promptly assisted. The bartenders are great. Super friendly and knowledgeable about the products they serve. They even gave us a bowl of pretzels to accompany our pints of Racer 5 (which I tried at their recommendation) and the $4 shots of Fireball (also tecommended). To top that off, they were great at making sure we were taken care of and our water was always filled (if you ever venture into Hollywood, you know what a pain in the rear it is to get a free glass of water).

The bathrooms were clean. No jerks or hipsters to be found. AND they have board games and Ms. Pacman. Win. Win.

Great unassuming place to grab a beer and just hang with your friends.

    An ode to the Snug.

    Your beers are cheap,
    and your shots are heavy.
    The bartenders are cute
    even Larry, too!
But why does it take you 20 minutes to close my tab?
Its OK, you're still quite charming.
Oh hey, is that free food?

This bar served its purpose for me and friends. I needed a low-key bar and after reading some of the reviews on yelp we felt this establishment will cater to us. It did.

We came around 8:30ish pm and the inside was a bit dark. It wasn't crowded at all and we could actually hear ourselves converse rather than get drowned by loud music at other places.

The waitresses were very down-to-earth and they serve pretzels when you order a drink.

I did drink much so I can't elaborate on their drink menu but we received excellent service.

What's not to like? Great spot with Guinness on tap...a must for me. We knocked back some Jameson's too and it was all good. They also have a very unique approach to having their own international kitchen - they keep a big binder filled to the gills with take-out menus. Order away and have it delivered to your barstool. Sweet!!

The barkeep was chill and the place was quiet when we arrived...picked up quite a bit around 7 or so. I dug the curved bench seating too...nice and comfy.

It seems like some bars get a bad rap because of the atmosphere the night a reviewer happened to show up. With The Snug, I'd say it's irrelevant.

When it comes to dive bars, The Snug is just about as good as it gets. Patrons tend to skew toward the local crowd, although new faces occasionally show up. Burbank is kind of an incestuous little bubble, so it seems like everyone in their 20's or 30's went to high school with one another.

The bartenders are really cool people. They're super friendly, sociable (you're not just a warm body waving a dollar bill), and they make excellent drinks. And it's not super expensive either. Beers range from $3-5, and mixed drinks are only a little more. So you don't have to empty out your checking account for a fun night.

All in all, if you're looking for a chill place to hang out with some friends for the night, you'll have a good time at The Snug.

I went here on 7/20/2011 because we came to Burbank for a taping of Conan, didn't get in (Just barely - Thanks Justin Timberlake for being popular) and had to drink away our sorrows.

The locals and bartenders in this place were very friendly.  The first bartender, a lady in her 40's or 50's, was very happy to help us with a large binder they had with many types of carryout/delivery restaurants in the area. It was even organized by the type of food they sold.  We ordered some Philly cheesesteaks from a place down the street and they were great.  (There is no bar kitchen).

They have around 10 beers on tap, I believe.  One of them was Chimay so that's always a win in my book.  The place was pretty dead when we got there but got busier after 9.  There isn't a whole lot of room so I can't imagine it's a comfortable place on Friday and Saturday nights.  Either way, my friends and I were impressed with their overall hospitality.

Okay, maybe I was just there on the wrong day at the wrong time, but I don't get it.

They have an okay beer selection, but nothing to write home (or on Yelp) about. The bartender was nice, but nothing special. After a shift change the new bartender seemed kinda crabby and unfriendly. The regulars at the bar were screaming their conversation at the top of their lungs to the point where we couldn't have our conversation. We were there at 6pm on a Wednesday only to find out that they don't have a happy hour on Wednesday. LAME!!

Still, not the worst bar I have ever been in, but definitely nothing special. I might give it another shot, but honestly I doubt it.

I almost don't want to tell you about this place. I want it to be mine. ALL MINE.

In the name of world peace though, I will let one thing slip:

The other afternoon, I went in with a friend and unsuspectingly ordered a Sam Adams and a Coors Light. The tab was $4.50. Yes. Four dollars and fifty cents; I didn't misplace the decimal. It was like a Christmas morning, the kind that happened before your parents divorced and fucked up all of your relationships from age 12 on. The kind that was filled with presents and joy, a joy that only alcohol can post-pubescently induce.

And since I'm spilling the beans...

They had pretzels. And chips. And Fritos, real Fritos from Frito Lay, for free! I almost fell off my barstool when the homely bartender started to generously dish them out in front of me. It was like a waterfall of happiness. Non-generic corn chip happiness.

I did eventually fall off my barstool, but that was only because I was wasted, and I was only able to get wasted because I couldn't find an excuse to leave when they were practically giving the alcohol away for free. God bless you, Snug. You and your geriatric regulars are what every bar should aspire to be.

I discovered the Snug a few weeks ago and have been coming back ever since! It's got such a great atmosphere! It's like stepping back into Ireland for a drink! They even have a countdown up next to the bar for St. Patrick's Day!
On top of that, they have cheap beer ($3 deals) and also on certain days they have a 2 for 1 offer on ANY beverage! The staff is entertaining and attentive, I've never had to wait to be served! Also, there's always street parking either in front of The Snug or across the street, which is a rare thing to come by in LA.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxed pub style bar with great beer, great company, and great service.

small little Irish bar. The waitress/bartender is amazing- she is always friendly and nice and actually takes everyones orders- no shrug off here.

We usually go Wednesday nights for trivia because in all honeslty there isin't much else to do at this bar [which is my reason for the 3 stars] if you just want a place to grab a drink with a friend this is a good bar to go to- never toooooo crowded but usually always has at least a few tables full.

I personally like a bar with some darts or a pool table or something going on.....but for just a watering hole thisplace is a-ok.

oh and they usually have some pretty sweet drink deals going on.

I don't go to many bars/pubs in general, but my friends and I came here a few days ago for a birthday. I liked the place immediately because at around 9pm on a Thursday it wasn't too busy. I liked the booths/high tables and bar seating and the bartender was nice, the drinks reasonable; it seemed like a nice, mellow, local bar.  And then we started celebrating... A few of us are lightweights, and unfortunately, in the midst of the celebration, we got SMASHED.  I ordered two drinks and a shot, but apparently picking up drinks for toasts I probably ended up having four or five drinks.  All decorum was lost, as were several dinners. The bartenders were VERY NICE to us considering and I have the utmost respect for them. I don't think we can go back for quite a long time, but I'd highly recommend The Snug sans tequila.

Just FYI: If you're going to make the mistake of drinking too much (and we've all been there!), park on the side streets instead of on Magnolia so you won't have to rush back to your car in the morning when you taxi or carpool home.

yelp is full of people giving 5-star reviews to the places whose successes they are somehow personally invested in. AND HERE COMES MINE! I love the Snug. is it because they charge 2 dollars a beer, serve complimentary brie w/crackers, or offer stripper karaoke on Thursdays? no. it's not. because, to the best of my knowledge, those things are not true of the Snug.

HERE'S what's true: the Snug is owned and operated by a very laid back and extremely accomodating gentleman named Steve. it is staffed by extremely competent, charming, attentive, and good-looking ladies who serve goldfish and pretzels as beer snacks. it has an amusingly eclectic jukebox, and it has a solid, if modest, selection of beers on tap for a bar of this size, including Chimay red, Alaskan IPA, and Stone's Arrogant Bastard.

when it comes to kickass neigborhood bars, the Snug makes me wish I still lived in the neighborhood. NoHolly, count yourself lucky. check this place out.

I dug The Snug on my rare visit to Burbank. Drove from Phoenix, Arizona to meet up with friends from Sacramento for a pubcrawl through L.A. and The Snug was one of the random bars we visited the night before the big event.

Decent beer selection and Stella Artois served in fine pilsner glasses bearing her name. The goofy trivia and games machine at the end of the bar kept us enthralled for a while. Users are forbidden to enter dirty words when registering a high score (of course, we found a workaround and littered the scoreboard with creatively filthy names).

Met some cool folks outside the pub, which I didn't expect. Cool little bar, The Snug.

Ok, soooooooooooo... I admit I've been here a few times before without much trouble. The last time was crazy though. My friend and I walk into the bar which has an odd food aroma.
We ask the door guy what the smell is and he gives us a blank look and
    a grunt like "huh?".
My friend starts to say "It smells like food"
at which point he replies, "huh?" -
my friend - "Do you serve food here"
door guy - "I don't know ask the bar"

ok - strike one - idiot door guy

we sit down at the bar and see the bartender has delivery chinese food and have an ahhh-ha moment - because now we know where the smell came from ....
then the guy sitting next to us has a pack of cigarettes that we are very familiar with... he sees us say something about them and replies...
"oh, sorry I didn't mean to offend you"
and puts them in his pocket
we say ... "you didn't offend us"
he says ... "i just started smoking... like literally just started. See, my car caught on fire - so my friend gave me a pack to get rid of the smell and now I smoke a pack a day"
where we give each other the blankest look and laugh uncontrollably at the stupidity of that dude's story - until he leaves... that would be strike 2

then the bartender tells us that the special is Sam Adam's Summer Ale... my friend asks what that is and I give her a good description so, she decides to order it and I order a blackthorn cider... well, the bartender comes back and brings my friend a small glass and says that it's the Summer Ale to try to see if she likes it... BUT it's the cider... We have now decided with strike 3 that this place is ridiculous... and we will finish our drinks and be out... so, we ask for our check and the bill says...
    "1 PINT SIDER"
    strike 4!
so, we have decided that the bartender and door guy are brother and sister and so are their parents.
    good times!

Love it.  Drunk it.  Snugged it.

The Snug is everything a snug should be--cozy booths (but no genuine Irish pub snugs, ironically...any of my Ireland peeps out there?  no?), really great pours (the bartender actually makes you wait for your Guinness- gasp!  wha-?  wait for a drink so it's served properly?  what the los angeles?), a laid back vibe and no major douches or hipsters.  Yet.  The juke is a little loud, but I've never been in when it's crowded so maybe it's just fine.  No food that I can tell, which is the only reason I leave.  A girl needs her chips after a pint.

So I looked up The Snug and saw this review first: "This place is dead... There have never been more than 15 people inside... The drinks are a little cheaper, but I'd rather pay the extra buck for a crowd..."

I guess I am just the total opposite. I like a place where I can sit, have a drink with friends, and not have to shout above music or a crowd. And this is an excellent place to catch a game (lots of TVs) and a great place for a jeans n' t-shirt crowd (I'm not a dress-upper). And if you need a bite, they may not serve food but they don't care if you bring it in or even have it delivered and I think that's pretty cool.

And as a random aside? The ladies room is so adorable! And clean! (Come on, how often do you HATE to have to pee in a bar or pub because you're afraid touching the toilet seat will mean catching hepatitis?)

I popped into here since No Bar down the street was closed and I'm glad I did. This bar gets the friendly, homey feel of an Irish bar right. There is nothing intimidating about the place and Mara is as warm a bartender I've ever been served by. It's a bit too bright for my tastes, but this was on a Sunday around 7pm so maybe it gets darker as the night wears on.

They have a good selection of beer on tap-Hefeweizen, Chimay, Fat Tire, Guinness and more. Drinks were strong enough and while not the cheapest, not expensive either. As for the decor, um, meh, but the shamrocks painted on the walls in the ladies room were a nice touch.

Now, this is one of those reviews where my head is saying three stars but it hurts me to give it just three. Burbank is in dire need of a casual bar that is reliable and pretension-free. I wish this place was a dark dive, and while nothing special, it does the trick and having visited it as Bar 21 I know the new owners put a lot of effort into transforming it. Three or not, I'll be back.

Myself and a few co-workers headed here to put a nice end to the work week.  None of us had been to Bar 21, so I can't compare, but I can say that we had a great time here.  It's nice, cozy, and relaxed inside.  The bartender was great - prompt, courteous, I never had to tell her my name for my tab, and she would regularly stop by the table to see if we needed more drinks.

I was very happy with the beer selection.  By no means vast, but very tasty.  I stuck to drafts all night including Chimay, Guiness & Cider, and a hefeweizen whose name I forget but came in at a half liter and was delicious.  Not sure exactly what the prices were like but I wasn't taken aback when the bill came, so at worst they were average.

Everyone in the group seemed pretty happy with the place and three of us stuck around to close it out.  Overall, very happy with The Snug, despite its silly name.

The old (yet still kinda new) Bar 21, a hip-ish NoBar-type place, is now Snug, a hip-ish Irish pub.  We rolled over there last weekend for birthday drinks and fun was had by all.  Roomy, not pretentious (yet), and the owner and bartender were great.  So great, in fact, that they bought us a round of drinks!  That has never happened to me EVER.  (But I'm not a hot chick with big tits.)  The round would have easily cost a hundred bucks so that was nice.

Drinks weren't any cheaper here.  And the jukebox left much to be desired.  But the fun we had and the free round gives this new business 5 stars.
