This is a pretty cool place on Wednesdays in the summer. On this night they have bike nite, which is pretty cool if you ride motorcycles. They have $2 bottles which is pretty sweet if you and a couple buds are just looking for a place to ride the bikes to and hang out and check out other cycles. They usually have free food and a DJ outside which is also pretty cool. Hasn't been as busy as the past but I'm sure as it cools down more bikes will def be out.

I will temper the very positive review I am about to write with the caveat that I have not been to Stables for at least a couple of years.  This is not because it is a bad place by any stretch of the imagination, but because it's out of the way for me to get to and not extremely easy to get take-out from (although it is fully possible and I have done it before!).  My husband and I first went here several years ago to see Restless Heart perform live.  What an awesome concert and a well-designed venue in which to enjoy it!  There was a huge dance floor on the main level for those that wished to dance, while a large balcony upstairs with many tables for dining accommodated those who wished to enjoy dinner with the concert.  The breaded tenderloin sandwich I ordered was THE GREATEST I have ever had anywhere, and this is even in Indiana, which I consider to be "tenderloin country"!!!  The tenderloin is huge and freshly fried with simple but wonderful tasting flaky breading.  The bun is big enough to accommodate the entire large tenderloin, and the sandwich goes well with the fresh lettuce, tomato, mayo, and potato chips that come with it.  The tenderloin was so wonderful that I have come here out of my way at least a couple of times and waited around to get at least two at a time to go.  If you love loud and/or live country music and/or would like to dance, plan to stay, but if you want a quiet, subdued dinner environment, plan to do take out.  I sincerely hope this gem is still open and serving up these awesome tenderloins!!!

Stables is a pretty big venue, with a large dance floor, two bars, pool tables and a balcony area. It's the place to go if you're a fan of country music. I mostly like it because I met my boyfriend there (we like country music, but were perhaps the only people there not line dancing). It's just barely in Indianapolis, close to where 465 and 74 meet, so it seems to be a destination for people from smaller towns outside of the city to go to hear live music (the bands are usually pretty good), line dance, drink and play pool. Their website does a pretty good job of filling visitors in on what's happening and also can tip you off on when to head there if you're a country music novice -- they do offer line dancing lessons!
