We had very modest expectations going into Joa, as we dined at Yuzen on the South-end of the Island the previous night and thought it was about 2 stars at best. Joa has a great menu that is fairly diverse. It has Korean dishes featured in the menu, but for those who have not had Korean food before, it would be difficult to tell.
Sushi quality was great - Salmon and Tuna were excellent and fresh. The Ebi (shrimp sushi) was also surprisingly good with a very clean taste and not too sweet.
The sake selection is alright, but they should feature Soju, for sure. We will definitely be going back - lots more menu to explore.
We live nearby and this is our family's "go to" sushi restaurant. Â The staff is friendly and very accommodating of children, and ours love the bento boxes. Â We prefer the Korean items on the menu, and usually get the bi bim bop (tofu for me, animal protein for my spouse). Â It is also a great option for take-out on busy week day nights.
