If you get the lunch special make sure you check the price. Â I ordered the turkey, bacon, Swiss sandwich with potato salad. The sandwich had two thin slices of turkey, two pieces of bacon and Swiss cheese on standard white sandwich bread. Â It reminded me of something I got in the grade school cafeteria. Â The potato salad was good. Â The price was $8.50. Â With a cup of soup and a small beer, the total was almost $17. Â Way way way overpriced.
Review Source:Syd's is a Noblesville tradition. They serve good pub food. My companion had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. It was good but could have used a little more cheese. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich with honey mustard sauce. Good chicken and ham and sauce. The fries were fresh and hot. The onion rings are the tempura battered kind and good.
The place is smokey, even in the family section when it's not busy so if you're smoke challenged, steer clear.
I know I live in Indiana, but still have to complain about the smoking. Â That said, I've been to Syd's a couple times, once for lunch & once for a late dinner & drinks. Â The food is exactly what you would expect (bar food), but at least the times I was there, I would consider it above average bar food.
My wife & I loved the shuffleboard that takes up most of the main bar area, though you kind of feel like you are playing in Conseco since it is surrounded by the tables & bar stools.
Great staff. Â I never had to wait for a beer.
One word of caution, if you are not from the area, be very careful, or sober, if you plan to drive away from this bar. Â If not, you'll be able to stop by again real soon since the courthouse is basically across the street.
If you are looking for great food pass Syd's by. If you are looking for bar grub walk on in. The place has picked a slot in time and has stayed there. Cold beer, loud jukebox, smoked filled, and bar food, the best of the best.
This is what Applebee's would like to be, but never will
