When the BF first brought be here, I was kinda insulted. At first glance is just a hole in the wall, but it's actually a hidden gem. Â I am addicted to their chicken sopes. Â Addicted I tell you. Â They add a little bit of potato to their chicken, which adds a little different texture, and it works. Â The flavor of their food is top notch. I can't comment on the other meats, but the BF orders everything they have and raves about the place. In fact, at one we came here every day straight for like five days in a row (we really need to get some business, but I was not complaining!!)
And let me not forget the horchata. Â I'm an horchata snob. Â I like the homemade stuff, not the cinnamon laden, ready made crap that alot of places try to pass off. Â Tacos Villa's horchata is one of the best in the city, in my humble opinion. Â Creamy, light and the real deal. Â And everything's really reasonable. Â For two people, we've never spent more than $10, and he eats ALOT.
I like Bebe and I go here a lot to lunch on their flavorful mexican take out. Their steak tacos and chicken enchiladas are quite good. Their refried beans stand out because they are lighter and smoother than in your regular mexican fare. They don't taste as "unhealthy" as far as frijoles go. Also a big favorite of mine are their chicken sopes. Very tasty little deep-fried biscuit with frijoles shredded chicken, pechuga queso y crema. Muy delicioso! That's just how good it is.
