The Tamale Cart Moved to the North East Corner of Clark and Lunt a couple of years ago. Â There is a sign on the cart that says " Tamales by Garibaldi" Â
These are the best tamales I have found on the Northside and I have tried a lot. Â They are sold from a mobile food cart Monday - Saturday from as early as 7:00 am until about 10:30 am or when ever they sell out. Â These tamales are moist and taste homemade, just like what I have had in Mexico on my many visits. There is Red/Pork (mild) & Green/Chicken (spicy). 75 cents each. Â I have been getting them for 4 years regularly and have never been disappointed. My friends at work love them too.
Note: Â The day before a holiday they sell out fast!
Okay so this is not a real restaurant but the tamales are the sh***zle. Â In my opinion she's got the best on Clark street! Â So when do you find her out on the corner? Â We'll she there almost every morning (?-till maybe 10 a.m) and the tamale are about 1 dollar each.. (but everyone gets different prices and if you know Spanish that will hook it up) There is Red & Green sauce that you can choose from in your Pork, Chicken, or Jalapeno Cheese Tamale. Â I would not go as far as saying they're the best street vendor tamales in the city.. but the best in rogers park!
