I agree that the waitstaff is friendly, but our poor server was horribly uninformed of what beers were on tap. Â My husband had to order his beer three times, each time the server leaving to get the beer, and then coming back to tell us that it wasn't on tap. Â She was very gracious, and I really felt sorry for her - she kept having to make excuses for not having beers that were printed on the menu.
The bacon cheeseburger was dry and bland. Â Really, I'm not quite sure how it is possible to prepare a bacon cheeseburger that is lacking in flavor and juiciness, but Taps sure did it. Â We are still perplexed.
Finally, perhaps the most annoying part of our visit was the pricing structure for the beers. Â The prices are random numbers, like $4.18, and vary for each beer (some beers are also available in different sizes). Â The prices for a pint are higher than you could get anywhere else in Fort Collins. Â Adding insult to injury, Racer 5 IPA is only available in a smaller size (10 or 12 oz), supposedly due to its high alcohol content, but you can get it anywhere else in a pint or pitcher. Â Hmmm . . it feels like Taps is trying to trick the uninformed into paying more $$ for his/her beer.
Two stars for friendly service and a decent chicken salad. Â I'm not driving all the way down there again, though.
