Good food. Good drinks. Good ambiance. And conveniently located in University Vilage.

This is not your typical bar food and it's not your typical bar.

The menu changes from time to time both to ensure that everything they serve is in season and sourced from a local vendor and to give their patrons a taste of something new. The arancini has a permanent place on my last meal on earth list, as does their Bolognese - on the arancini, on the fries, on anything they decide to put it on.

The place is intentionally not your typical Taylor Street spot and yet they are still kind enough to serve the mainstream. The beer list is superb and extensive. I've been to both brunch and dinner here on numerous occasions and I have yet to have anything less than a wonderful experience.

I've been here 100 times and hope to go back 100 more!!! Bar tenders and servers are all very knowledgeable and always updating me on new menu items. They just got in a local alcoholic root beer (10%!). It tastes just like a root beer! If you have a chance ask Will to do a green thumb shot with you!

The food was excellent, my girlfriend and I started with the mussels (a must anywhere we go, but they are always great here!!) and the pappardalle. WOW long fat strips of pappardalle (made in house of course) with the world's best BOLOGNESE SAUCE (EVER!) and topped with mascarpone. Ridiculously amazing, not too rich or over the top but perfect flavors and amount of mascarpone. The mussles were also particularly HUGE, I know that will vary at any restaurant but this was a huge bonus! we opted to split the Cioppino for an entree. The restaurant I currently work at has a Bouillabaisse and I was curious to see how their seafood stew was. It was excellent, great variety of seafood in a rich hearty tomato sauce just as I expected! I wouldn't recommend splitting this dish to anyone though, it was too good, I wanted it all to myself. We finished our meal with their version of Tiramisu. I don't particularly like sweets but I have enjoyed every single one of their homemade desserts. This was nothing short of amazing! You know how sometimes Tiramisu has that overbearring coffee flavor. This did not, it was perfect and the pistachios on top were excellent. We had a great dinner and I got to beat my girlfriend in pool (per usual) on the wayout. Awesome place/atmosphere/food/staff

man, I love Three Aces.

Cool casual ambient. Awesome beer selection for a good price. I've only had the Three Aces burger here because they're REALLY good (better than Davanti's and Paramount Lounge, IMO).

I like the small and large changes that have improved my experience at this place. When originally opened it was a little darker and hard core. Now over a year later some of the changes have opened this place to the masses by smoothing out some rough edges and the outdoor seating is cool. They have really stepped it up with the food also.My father in law ,friend ,and I enjoyed our 3 different plates. Pizza ,pasta, and , a burger. We loved all of them . The owner Anthony is a rock star! Always on tip and takes the time to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. You feed off of his energy! I look forward to hitting this cool spot on Taylor again and again!

Just got carryout and was very impressed to say the least! I won't refer to them as Italian poutines but the bolognese fries were very good as its just fries with a plastic container of sauce that wasn't lacking in meaty sauce goodness!

Got the much-hyped Ace burger and I can see how its gotten the attention of plenty of people. The first initial taste was a slight charbroil/buttery-sweet taste (which could of stemmed from the bacon jam) that was such a delightful combination that really complimented each other. Totally worth the hype!!!

Really great food and service. I had the duck fat chips for an appetizer, not to be missed for sure. My friend had the burger which looked incredible. I had the carbonara pizza which was fantastic. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, and the owner stopped by our table to make sure everything was good. He also bought us a round which was very much appreciated.
No 5 stars due to a somewhat sticky table and a really dirty bathroom. Other than those minor gripes, GO to this place when you're in the mood for a down-to-earth bar with great tunes and great food. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for!
I'll be back.

Wow, the reviews are all correct....the burger here is easily on the top of my best burger list. From the bun to the lettuce to the aioli it was all super tasty. The fries were also pretty damn good. The black kale salad was a great starter as was the garlic soup. The beer list is extensive and not crazy expensive. My only grip is the stupid little glasses they serve with your beer. Why not give me a pint glass? They take reservations so I recommend making them...it got pretty packed around 7:30-8ish. Definitely the place I'll be coming when I'm craving a burger.

Came here to kick off my boyfriend's birthday celebration. We started with the bolognese fries which were very good! All the other dishes we orderd that night were nothing special but good. The service was slow and a little rude. That night after the meal my boyfriend and I ended up getting violently ill! It was certainly not the wonderful birthday night(and lasted all the next day) that I had planned for my man!

Three Aces...Four Stars!

It's a very unique bar and grill serving sophisticated bar food and sharable plates with a Rock and Roll and Italian influence. Eclectic for sure. The atmosphere also goes against the grain with the wood (a carpentry joke?) all over creating a lodge-like appearance.

There's a decent beer list. And enticing menu. We ordered:

The hand cut fries with lemon zest, parsley, house ketchup, and aioli. They were good.

Popcorn with scallions, Parmesan liberally topped and roasted garlic hot sauce for dipping. Addictive! Though it's a touch awkward dipping popcorn.

Brussel sprouts with house bacon and lemon zest. This is my favorite vegetable and their rendition did not disappoint.

Pizza. I love the presentation on the cut log recalling the cabin rustic decor. The crust was perfection. The Margherita wasn't a fave, though it had quality ingredients. However, the Carbonara is great. Parmesan cream, house bacon, black pepper, farm egg yolk, and parsley. I bogarted that one!

The service was awkward. A bit off putting.

Myriad things on the menu intrigued so I'd love to return to this four star bar.

I came here during weekday lunch. Good food, nice decor, friendly service! Tried their double-double burger (mine w/o cheese 'cause I can't have dairy) which came with fries and house-made ketchup and aioli. Burger was well-made and enjoyed the fries (w. the hint of lemon) dipped into their aioli sauce. I especially enjoyed their decor! I'd love to come back and check out their drinks. It looked like they had a big selection of beer. I'm definitely a fan!

When my fiancee told a coworker we were going to 3 aces for dinner, he told her "the ONLY thing you should order is the papardelle". Unfortunately, we mistook his sage advice for hyperbole. The food here was bad enough to wake me from a long yelp hibernation.

The premise of thee aces is small plates (because we don't have enough places like that in Chicago). The papardelle, baked olives, and garlic soup was fine. The rest of the food was terrible. The pizza that comes with bacon was cold on arrival, possibly because it was served on a tree stump instead of something that retains heat. The second go wasn't any better. Bacon was inedible. Pure fat. Not good fat as in pork belly prepared well, but bad fat as in spit it into your napkin. Yes, it is possible for bacon to be bad. Really bad.

The gnocchi dish also sucked. Gnocchi is hard to mess up, there is only like two ingredients to it. But the texture was off and it tasted like it was from the freezer. And the oxtail was more fatty grossness. Duck fat fries tasted like Lays. Felt sick after eating here, and I rarely feel sick.

Alcohol pricing is bad. If you like beer, get Three Floyds Alpha king. It's under-priced at $4. Great beer and great relative value at the price.

Obvs, I ended up back here after I read about their burger. I am in love with all things burger related, and was happy to see it written up in the Trib. I went in for lunch on Superbowl Sunday, and it was pretty quiet. I guess everyone else was saving up their binge eating for later in the day...LOL.

I came here with baby in tow, and was happy to see that there were other families with babies! All I came for, and all I ate was the Three Aces burger. It was delish. It was a little undercooked for how I like a medium burger, but not enough to have sent it back. I also tried the bolognese fries, and they were a little salty, but good. Not something I would get every time, but still worth trying.

I can't wait to go back in the Summer to sit on the patio!

Loved Three Aces! We went on a Saturday night for a birthday celebration! A super fun vibe, excellent food and great beer selection. We made a reservation and they seated us early and 2 of the people in our party hadn't arrived till after our reservation time. Street parking was available.

We ate 1/3 of the menu, stop judging there was 6 of us and ONE of the 6 has the appetite of a small country. Our server was amazing answering all of our questions and not judging our "fatty" noshing. She was attentive and funny but also knowledgeable and very chill.

We had the following foods: Brussel Sprouts, Cheese and charcuterie, Pappardelle bolognese, Mushroom risotto, Cioppino, Braised pork shank, Margherita, Bolognese Fries, Popcorn (2 orders) and Cake doughnuts. Everything was delicious and shareable. The bill was extremely reasonable we each had at least 2 drinks (mixed and beers.)

We were not rushed and several people came by to clear off the table, give us new plates and silverware, not just our server. They were playing a 50's movie, theme of the night and it was quirky and fun to watch and discuss. The bar area was 4 deep and there was always someone at the pool table. We even took a fun picture in the photo booth.

All and all a great night!

I came here during the day for lunch with the boy. We ordered the burger with bolognese fries and the calabrese pizza. I don't know why people are going crazy over the bolognese fries. I didn't think they were that great. I only got it because the boy wanted it.

The burger was really good though. Definitely one of the better burgers that I've had recently. The bacon really gave it a nice flavor and texture. The pizza was nicely done and served on a piece of tree trunk! Rustic much?

I like the fact that they have a free lot located right next to it. Everything was very chill. Even the bartender had one of his earphones on while he was mixing something for later that night.

Nice place for a burger. Perhaps I'll come back for drinks, if there's parking on Taylor!

I came here for a friends' birthday celebration and I was so impressed.

Ace burger! Bolognese fries! Without the bun, my meal was gluten free and SO GOOD. And I had a pear cider, which was delicious. Service was great. No complaints at all.

Get over the this place, it's all-around an awesome place!

A million craft beers (give or take) with about a million menu items (give or take)... what's not to love?

This former Bar Louie has come a looong way and in order to celebrate the success of this University Village gastropub, we decided to order one of everything on the menu... or just about.

- Duck Fat Chips with fennel pollen - $5 - An absolutely giant portion. Great group appetizer.

- Boozy Eggnog Pie with white rum, vanilla wafer crust and eggnog - $8 -Totally awkward to share with other people. This is a dingle person to cutesy couple food... not for three business associates to awkwardly share. This was fine, but I'd expected more.

- Popcorn with scallions, Parmesan, roasted garlic hot sauce - $2 - Best.Thing.Ever. I could drink that roasted garlic hot sauce and snort the finely shaved Parm.

- Baked Olives with ricotta salata and tomato sauce - $6 - Tied with the above popcorn for Best.Thing.Ever. I've been dreaming about this ever since my last fateful visit. So salty. So addictive. So going back and getting two orders of this just for myself.

- Biscuits and gravy - cheddar, bacon & pale ale biscuits with sausage gravy - $11 - It seemed like the plate was kind on the small side with just two biscuits and some gravy for $11, but the orderer of this dish seemed to enjoy every last crumb.

- Hand-cut fries - lemon zest, parsley, house ketchup, aioli - $3 - As a person who's 100% addicted to fries, I can say that these are damn good ones. Dip 'em in the house-made mustards and/or hot sauce. I could eat only these forever and be happy. Very fat and very fat.

- Ace Burger with aged cheddar, trimmings, bacon jam, aioli, fries, garlic and hops pickle - $13 - My dining partner, who used to work as Kuma's, scarfed this bad boy down and labeled it pretty damn good.

- Breakfast Ribollita - Tuscan stew, poached egg, white beans, parsley pistou and shaved Parmesan - $10 - Ooh it'll warm you to your core, but in all honesty, it's not very filling... though you'll be glad because it'll give you more room to eat up that side of fries, popcorn and baked olives.

Go there. Go there now and eat, drink, be merry and then eat s'more.

Went here on 1/15/13

Before I get started, let me just make something very clear. Whenever I go out to eat at a restaurant, a bar, or whatever. I never order a burger. I mean absolutely never. I mean why order a burger when you have a million burger kings, wendy's, Mcdonalds, etc all up an down the street. BUT, since so many yelpers raved about the burger, I decided to order the burger too. I made the right decision.

I went here on a Tuesday night, and there a was a small crowd in there, with a lot of solo eaters in there like myself. In order to avoid this waitress everyone is talking about, I sat at the bar.

I ordered the burger and bolognese fries. I have to admit, it was the second best burger I've ever had. The best burger I've ever had was actually from Wendy's back in 1992, but that's besides the point. The fries were alright, the sauce was a bit salty, but they were still good. Anyways, for your first visit I'd also recommend the burger.

I had three employees come up to me and ask if I was enjoying he food which is always a plus.

This seems like a really fun place. In fact, I am there right now! It only gets 2 stars from me because the waitress, Natalie, is making this night uncomfortable with her nasty attitude. I probably won't visit here again because it feels like this attitude is acceptable. I had a long day at work and wanted to go to Bondage Bingo Night. Thanks for ruining it, Natalie.

And now she's ignoring me completely! Wow. Leaving now and changing this to a one star.

Mmmmm burgers. The only thing I have had at this place are the burgers. And they are delicious. Whenever we have a hankering for a good burger, we go to Three Aces. They top the deliciousness with aged cheddar, trimmings, bacon jam, aioli, fries, garlic and hops pickle. Let me tell you. Two things. The bacon jam is brillant. The hops pickle outstanding. I could possibly have pickles for dinner if given a plate of these. We have always been a bit of a blue hair crowd and tend to go for a late lunch or early dinner, so we have never had a problem with getting seated. I will tell you it tends to be a bit loud and the bistro table with stools are not my choice of seating. But it is all totally worth it for these burgers. Seriously.

In all seriousness, one of the coolest places i have ever been. And possibly the best burger in the city... Yes... Better than kumas.

You have two burger choices, a big single with bacon jam or a double double (in n out). The frys are amazing...they have a little lemon on them. Great beer selection.

And breakfast!!!

For starters the manager Will treats the guest like Friends invited into his own home. Then there is Ben and Toni the bartenders who truly love what they do and it shows. Now the food, OMG! I had a burger there that would make Kuma's kitchen spy on them to duplicate it. It was cooked perfectly and looked too good to eat. My friend had the sliced beef sandwich, I stole a sample and it made me wish I had more room on my plate and in my stomach! And then (yes there's more) we tried their pizza! I'll put it this way, I'm going back but I will make sure I bring a pair of sweats pants to change into after wards; this place will make you eat until you can't fit your clothes!

Last week I ordered a large, late night deep dish pizza. I ate a slice for breakfast while riding my bike in winter coat, a rolling beast. A few nights later I was still pretty pizza-ed out from the wheat bomb and cheese blanket of the deep dish, but found myself at Three Aces for the first time and it was half off flatbreads. I ordered the garlic soup, pork shank, and shortrib flatbread. My girlfriend got a balanced and tasty gin cocktail and a great burger.

The soup was a creamy winner, the garlic has the essence of healthfulness. The pork shank was super rich in mushroomy and nutty umami. The shortrib flatbread was flavorful and meaty with melted blue cheese providing a tangy kick. Three aces is good to convert the summer patio into a winter parking lot.

Three Aces is an effortlessly cool venue. The decor and ambience is understated and while the servers are definitely more hipsteresque than you'll find at other Taylor St watering holes, they aren't obnoxious or pretentious in any way.

The beer selection is respectable offering a decent variety of craft brews. The menu is is kind of gastropub 101. It's not anything intimidating or earth-shaking but they do offer some inspired twists on standard pub fare.

This is a really cozy & eclectic bar on Taylor Street. It was a little quiet, probably because it was a Wednesday night in the fall/winter, but there was a good crowd nonetheless. They had very attentive staff and awesome music, so I really can't complain!

Three Aces has an awesome bar & food menu. We tried several craft beers on draft as well as munched on some bolognese fries. The fries were unusual and delicious. I never would have thought to pair the two, but it worked out great. Some of our friends got the burger & the gnocchi - both were happy with their picks.

Overall this place is great. I would LOVE to come back in the summer tho to enjoy their patio!

I recently visited Three Aces on a Saturday around 8 to grab a few cocktails before a late dinner. We easily snagged two seats at the bar. I tried several of their drinks (can't recall each one) and they were amazing! I highly suggest any drink with ginger beer that was my favorite. The atmosphere was great- very laid back with an awesome music selection! There were a few large parties in but it was by no means too noisy.

We did end up caving in and ordering an appetizer (4 cocktails on an empty stomach would have made for an interesting dinner). We opted for the popcorn with scallions, parmesan and a garlic hot sauce on the side. It was also amazing, small portions so we ordered two and devoured them both.

I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Three Aces is a dark, trendy, rocking bar with great craft beer and delicious food.

The beer menu was excellent, with lots of midwestern craft beers and a good selection of bottles and taps - primarily American craft brews. All midwestern beers were $6, including amazing beers like Founders Breakfast Stout.

I didn't eat dinner, but the burger my friend ordered that was served on a pretzel bun made me wish I had. I did order a side of bolognese fries, which are basically like gourmet chili cheese fries. Instead of chili and cheddar, a big bowl of fries are covered in bolognese meat sauce and parmesan. They were absolutely delicious and my wife and I finished off the whole bowl. I had to resist licking it clean

The service was friendly even if it wasn't super quick. Luckily they left a caraffe of water on the table so we could refill our own glasses. The music was also a bit too loud, which made it hard to hear the people across the table - but our table was right under a speaker so that didn't help.

Overall - great beer bar, great food - I'd definitely go back.

Had the scallops from here which were awesome. The drinks were also good. (Cue: Pontification: Although since when did serving a Moscow Mule in something other than a copper mug suddenly become acceptable?)

But the problem occurred with the burger. We asked for it medium rare. It came out RARE, more like bleu - as in raw.
The owner / manager noticed something was wrong when we weren't eating and had it redone. That would have been fine and I would have made it only a small item in a review, however, when it came back the second time. It was still well undercooked.

The mussels though were very good.

This place rocks. Every one working there is very friendly - the food is beyond delicious - the atmosphere is rock and welcoming. I can't wait to go back. They have some really fun drinks, as well as a huge beer list (I'm not a big beer girl, but love some non-fruity specialty drinks).
Only hiccup was that our entrees came about 3 minutes after we got our appetizer. I literally was about to take my first bite of my arancini when he came to our table with our meals. Other than that, we had a great time. We didn't feel rushed, our server knew her stuff and was really nice, and we were still raving about the food days later. My husband had the Ace burger and fries with bolognese - both amazing. I had the pork shank. It was probably one of my top 10 meals in my life, it's that damn good.

3 Aces is a understatement they are 4 aces and the wild card to boot. Awesome all the way around the owner was at the front door and very attentive to our reservation and if we needed anything once we where seated. Great and a little different beer selection lots of dark beer on tap and if you want cocktails they have a nice unique selection.

OK now the food... The bolognese fries we had 2 orders between 5 of us and pretty much licked the bowls clean it was so good. Fries perfectly cooked crispy and stood up to the bolognese sauce on top with out getting soggy. The bolognese on its own was great you could put it on pretty much anything and it would be good. A must try!!! Now here is the wild card brussel sprouts where better then a full house when your all in. No bad brussel sprout taste people hate they where perfectly cooked to a firm but tender doneness and came in a great sauce garnished with bacon and lemon zest.

Entree I had the pork shank was tender fall of bone with that slow cooked pork flavor you cant get enough the dish came with fried sage and sweet potato ravioli great dish would be a winner on any menu anywhere. We also had the ham hock risotto with clams. the clams where fresh and tasty and came in the shell the risotto had a heavy smokey flavor a good taste but you have to like smoke to like this dish I liked it might be a good sharing dish for a appetizer. A friend had the burger he loved it and ate more fires with a smile on his face. We ended with pumpkin pie looked like a muffin individual mini pie it was tasty and flavorful not a supper pumpkin flavor but a nice dessert.

This place is great saw they had a huge outdoor patio I will go back in the warm weather and have some fries and dark beer in the sun.

I was so sad that Bar Louie and it's dollar burger goodness got kicked out of this locale - but i swallowed my tears and tried 3 Aces. Definitely a a nice addition to the Taylor strip. I used to get the cheap grub at Bar Louie when I was in college and now that I'm all grown up, it feels like this is the perfect replacement.

Been here more than a few times and have been super happy with each visit. The food, beer selection, and alterna-indie-rock n' roll, punk music equal a winning combination in my book. Also, the laid back crowd and comfy decor don't hurt either. I'm not a huge fan of the duck fat chips that everyone seems to rave over, but the open faced BLT, grilled octopus, and buckwheat gnocchi are awesome.

I went back here to try the burger that everyone was raving about.
It was good. Juicy and tasty, great bun, and good toppings.
It also cost $13... To me it's not worth it. Ten would be my max for this burger.
The best burger in chicago in my opinion is Bandera:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/…

p.s. the chef likes to cook a little on the rare side. I ordered medium and it looked more like medium rare.

This was an impromptu stop, after seeing a show at the UIC Pavilion, just a short/cheap cab ride away. The ambience was warm and welcoming for one of the first chilly nights of the year, with cozy modern booths, dim lighting, and candles flickering on every table. I sort of want to mention the front door guy, who at first looks intimidating, but once he opens his mouth seems outgoing, friendly, and makes you feel like a regular. The staff itself was down-to-earth, and I felt like I was in a true-to-life, local, upscale pub. The crowd looked like they were having fun, although crowd would be an overstatement. It was full of folks, but not overly full....if that makes sense. You just sort of feel like you belong.

Anyway, the food. We snacked on scallion-garlic popcorn, a nice simple starter, and moved on to the fried green tomato special was just a lovely salad with ham, egg, and of course, the title ingredient. It was decadent and delicious; I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was crisp, light (for all the heavy ingredients), and fresh tasting. Went on to the duck breast with black kale and mushrooms and a lobster pizzetta. In all fairness, I forgot how much I "meh" at lobster, but that being said, the pizza (whats the difference? Don't tell me, don't care) was baked so well. The crust was crispy and flavorful, and would've sufficed just by itself. The duck was, I can't describe it well, but just perfect. I know that's a half-ass way to review something, but get it for yourself, you can't go wrong.

The cocktail listing was a mix of old and new, the way a cocktail menu SHOULD be. House made syrups, and cherries, and a wide selection of bitters, liquors, and liqueurs peppered the long, but not too long, menu. Priced incredibly soundly, as well.

All in all, this is a fantastically priced night out, a great place to get together for drinks or dinner with friends.

A gastropub in Little Italy? You got it. And it's better than similar establishments North of town, where, in many instances, the hype has far surpassed the delivery.

The libations themselves will make any partaker happy. Homemade simple syrup for their cocktails, "barrel aged" Manhattans, and a vastly extensive beer menu. Let's expound on that last part for a sec: almost 60 discriminating samples from across the country, predominantly IPAs, for only $5 every. single. day.

Oh and by the way, the food is amazing. The pretzel bun, garlic aioli, aged cheddar "Three Aces Burger" is savory magnificence in every bite. All the pizzettas are also downright delicious (try the short rib); after all, this is Little Italy we are talking about. On top of it all, even the ketchup is made from scratch and the chips are fried in duck fat.

Last but definitely not least, the decor is tasteful and the service is nice.
Just nice - as in unpretentious, down-to-earth goodness.

It's beginning to look a lot like short ribs....

Came back last night to yet another wonderful experience at Three Aces. I know my friends and I have joked about moving into Three Aces, but we almost had to last night when it started to monsoon outside.

Anyway, show up on Mondays for half off pizzas! We were delighted to find the short rib pizza back on the menu. Seriously, this pizza is all that's right in the world. My dining companion and I decided we should split a Three Aces burger and

oh
my
god

shut that doooown, holy crap! I don't know why people even bother waiting in line at Kuma's anymore JUST GET A THREE ACES BURGER. Hot damn, where is this chef so I can make out with him? One of the best burgers I've had in my life. My one sad point is that it did not come in a pretzel bun because I really love pretzel buns, but man oh man, such a good burger. You know the food you never want to be done with, the meal you never want to be over? This burger and bolognese fries is it.

Last, and definitely not least, dessert! While the s'mores donuts aren't on the menu anymore (please to be bringing that back at some point, yall), we had the pumpkin pie and hot cider sidecar. HOLD ME. That pie was glorious and perfectly paired with whipped cream. Fresh and not too sweet, it hit the spot just right. I'm not much of a cider fan, but it was pretty tasty.

I came here on a Thursday evening and it wasn't too packed although the Bears game was playing..my friend and I were seated immediately..it got more packed later on, but the service maintained the same until we left.. :)

Food:
3 Aces burger ($13.00): consists of aged cheddar, trimmings, bacon jam, aioli, heirloom tomato, garlic AND comes with fries + hops pickle
-ordered it medium well and it came out perfect to our taste buds, the burger was juicy and the ingredients that were in the burger were a perfect mix for the burger..the bacon jam added a slightly sweet flavor to the burger (not too sweet or anything.. just perfect) the flavors all blended in well! Recommended that you try this burger.
-i really liked the hops pickle (perfect w/ burger).. a very vinegary taste to it...

Duck Fat Chips: you can really really really taste the duck fat.. tastes very ducky.. and very oily (soaked in fat flavor)...obviously since it was made with duck fat... and it was VERY SALTY...but somehow somewhat addicting.. kind of like when you eat chips and you keep eating it even tho it's not that great... your mouth wants to chew on something...i wouldn't get it again though...1 order of duck fat chips is enough for a party of 2-4 (if it's your 1st time trying.. order just 1 order and then you can order more if you really really like it..).

Bolognese Fries: I will just call this fries with chili on top because that's exactly what it looked like and tasted like....it was good, but nothing too special about it....

**wish they had more food food items on their menu..but then again it's a restaurant bar..

Sizes/Portions: my friend and I shared the 3 Aces burger (decent sized burger), Bolognese fries, and Duck Fat Chips...and we were pretty content..I felt pretty full actually..

Price: it is a little bit on the more costly end for burgers..the burger costs $13.00 and you can add bolognese on fries for $3.00...expect to spend at least $20 if you come here to eat..unless you're just going to order 1 order of a side...

Customer Care: the waiter & waitress were good, they were attentive and friendly, no complaints!

Atmosphere: restaurant/bar setting, good to come with a friend or with friends to just eat and hang out..dim lighting..there's a pool table too.. :) ..reminds me of the layout of Bar Louies...

Parking: it's Chicago so there will be meter street parking or free street parking across the street...

would I come here again?...
-- maybe, i'd like to check out there brunch menu (sounds delicious)....and for the burger... but not for the duck fat chips that ppl are raving about..eh..

Last night I dined at Three Aces for the third time. The food at Three Aces is spot on, the servers friendly and just a good vibe overall. The Burger is one of the best in the city.. juicy, flavorful and bacon jam. Hello! bacon jam! So so good. The Bolognese fries are INCREDIBLE...and the meat sauce, you'd defiantly want on some pasta too. One other thing that sticks out is the pickle. It tastes so fresh and had a vinegar flavor- so good.

Last night I tried three different beers- and the server brought me ones she thought I'd like, they were all spot on.

Three Aces = I love you and I'll keep telling everyone, and coming back!
