Our second night at the beautiful Tiki Bar. A bit hidden, 100 yards off the path. Great drinks. My wife fell in love with the Piña Coladas. Fantastic nightly music and Hula dancing.  A memorable experience.

A hidden treasure!!! Very reasonably priced considering it's in Ka'anapali. Dale is amazing he's a great bartender, very accomodating and he's that "Hawaiian character" you come to Hawaii to meet! He's da kine!!!

BEST LAVA FLOW cocktail on the islands!!!! And if you haven't had one, you must. YUM! Nice place to sit in the evening and listen to the music. And enjoy a lava flow of course.

An honest must go/must see place for me was a true Tiki Bar in Hawaii.

I don't know, maybe two many TV shows or old movies, I just completely related visiting a tiki bar with our Maui vacation.

This little hut was exactly what I was looking for. After laying out on the beach and snorkeling at Kannapali bay I told my wife we have to go to the tiki bar. We had a great day at the beach, saw some sea turtles while snorkeling - now it was time for a drink!!

This is the coolest little bar ever. So it might not be anything super special, but they honestly had the best Mai Tai on the island. Yes, I know all my reviews say "this is the best Mai Tai on the island" - But this honestly was!!

It is a rather small outside bar with seats wrapped all the way around. They had some beers on tap from Maui and Kona Brewing and there is a little hut right across the walkway that serves food.

Great place to grab a drink if you are in the area or spending the day at the beach in front of the resort here. Probably not worth driving to if your not nearby!!

(Drank 01/12/12 TH): A bar close to the beautiful white sand beaches of the resort area of Ka'anapali with a clear view of the ocean...yes, please!

A friend and I were in Maui for the day as one of the port stops on a 14-day Hawaiian Islands cruise. A longtime friend of mine had moved out to Maui years ago and I haven't seen him since high school, so we made arrangements to meet and catch up. The Tiki Bar seemed like a perfect place!

It was a mid-January afternoon, so the place wasn't too busy. Situated on the grounds of the Ka'anapali Resort Hotel, we walked along the walkway coming from Black Rock and grabbed ourselves a high table.

We weren't interested in any food or pupus at the time...just something fruity to drink. Thanks to my friend on Maui, he treated us all to some tasty sweet mai tais (he paid so no prices noted). I love making mai tais at home, but it definitely tastes a whole lot better when you're sipping on it while gazing out towards the ocean with the cool and salty breeze blowing at you, shirtless, and not a care in the world. I wish I'd asked how they make theirs.

Again, we didn't order any food, so unfortunately, this review is somewhat incomplete by my standards. Maybe it's a reason to visit again real soon!

For what it's worth, the service was good, as we got our drinks quickly. Plus, we were the only ones at the time.

It looked like you park at the hotel itself (as my Maui friend did), and it appeared there was sufficient parking. Don't know how much it is though.

Overall, I found paradise at the bottom of my mai tai while chillaxing with good company at The Tiki Bar. I imagine they make other amazing drinks, and from the aroma coming from the grill close to where we were sitting, the food may be just as good. The only seating I saw was outdoor, but come on, you're in Hawaii, why would you want to be indoors!? And of course, all is casual, as we were all in boardshorts, flops, and shirtless. And although I didn't pay, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX!

I came here multiple times on my last trip.

Nothing but good things to say.

All of the bartenders are very nice and welcoming.  They are always on top of your drink order.  Whether your drink is full or close to being empty they will ask if you have had enough or want some more.  They serve a decent lava flow and have a few TV's where you can watch sports.  (I happened to be there for the recent Patriots versus Broncos playoff game where the Broncos were slaughtered.)

    Great atmosphere and convenient location.

If you are staying in the area, want a drink and do not feel like walking or driving far then this place is for you.

They also serve food.  Nothing special, just a fried food paradise, but what more could you ask for when it comes to having a drink.

Heard so much about the bar I had to go and try. They stated they are famous for their mai tais,, at over $8 I thought great! Not so... They were less than average. Small cup, very little alcohol.  I am a bartender, and my Mai tai drinks rock at only $5. Very disappointed....my lesson...don't believe the hype...ask around, and don't go for the $4 Mai tai... Worst ever.....hey tiki bar...Mai tai ingredients... 2 count light rum, dark rum, OJ,  4 count pineapple juice, splash of grenadine with float of 151. Top off with cherry and pineapple...perfect!

A local recommended this place to us for some good cocktails, and a relaxing atmosphere. We did receive what he promised! Of course their drinks were expensive but what restaurant/bar in Hawaii ISN'T expensive?? This bar is what it is...a place for drinks and that's about it. Nothing spectacular but nothing really to complain about either. I was quite happy that evening.

Make your fortune on the Mainland; blow your fortune here.  This is about as old school and classic as it gets.  Way more honest pours than any other tropical bar this side of West Maui--trust the bartenders here (Dale is a legend).  Does all the tiki drink classics well.  I have lived on Lava Flows for two weeks at a time.  We consider bar umbrellas our dead soldiers and line them up back in the room.  I have forgotten the true count but estimate it may be in the hundreds.

I don't know why the Tiki Bar isn't getting more love on Yelp... It's awesome!!!

For the nay-sayers who say it isn't authentic, get real... Nothing in Maui is! Everything is a huge tourist trap, and the sooner you except it, the better your trip will get.

Now, if you are staying close to the Tiki Bar, do yourself a favor and mingle with out of towners and locals here. We had such a fabulous time we came back two nights in a row...

Say hi to Dale, and be friendly, he'll hook it up with stiff cheap drinks.

This is an outdoor tiki bar hidden away in a hotel courtyard.  The music from the performance that night floated out onto the beach boardwalk, so we followed our ears and were pleasantly surprised at what we found.  The drinks were sub-par (and expensive) but the ambiance is straight Hawaii old-school.  The crowd was mostly tourists and on a quiet night they were looking to close up early.

In the land of supposedly Tiki, Tiki was bland, filled with tourists from Iowa (no offense Iowa) and did not have any mystical qualities I would deem worthy of a place called the Tiki Bar. As a past of owner of a place called the Tiki Hut, I guess I am bias.

We do Tiki Bars (mostly in Los Angeles, or SF's Tonga Room) and this is not a tiki bar in the sense of the 1950-60s tiki vibe. It's an outdoor patio, with metal tables and chairs, a thatched-roof stage, and bar. Drinks, free music and hula dancers are really good. But please do not advertise yourself as a tiki bar. Menu looked crappy. We ordered some French fries....brought out with 10 packets of ketchup. They weren't bad; but we got them cause nothing else looked appetizing. Stop here for a drink with free entertainment before dinner...but don't expect too much.

    Rated 4-stars on <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2FMauiGuidebook.com&s=384c8255dc94f1d1a17f6ae2029dbe4c0e346eb821a6cdf12fb94727f2e992da" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://MauiGuidebook.com</a> - this is in the most authentic resort in Ka'anapali.

This is an outdoor tiki bar, with an old-school feel at the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel.

Cocktails, smoothies, appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and grilled dishes.

Live Hawaiian music and hula after 6P.

My boyfriend and I came here at night on our vacay in hopes of finding a good place to chill and have drinks.  Well, if you're looking for a 65+ scene, this is the place for you.  Needless to say, we were out shortly.  Plus, I appreciate when bartenders don't water down your drinks, but whatever my bf got was so strong it was like drinking cleaning fluid.

You know that scene from Forgetting Sarah Marshall when Peter gets every fruity drink at the bar?  This is the perfect bar for just that.  Fruity drinks galore with live entertainment (which means tourists on stage doing the hula).

Every fruity drink at The Tiki Bar = me a hot mess.

Old school tiki bar. Not corporate. Independently owned. Or at least it feels that way.
My friends, Dave and Kristin, tiki bar aficionados would love this place.
Has a fun nightly Hawaiian band and hula show for free. I think it's every night. The audience is a little on the older/retired side (at least it was the night I was there), but I thought the drinks were fairly priced and mixed well and the waitresses get up on stage and hula.  On a clear warm Maui night, watching a band, having a cool beverage with someone you love is probably one of the best things in life. You decide. Aloha.

I really enjoyed this little bar.  It's in the middle of the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel.  Basically walk in the front door of the hotel and keep walking straight and you can't miss it.  The pina colada was very good and I'm not really a pina colada fan, but one can only drink so many mai tais before a change is warranted.

The first night we were there, we watched this 20-something guy pulling out ALL the stops in an effort to bed a 40-something waitress.  Bless that waitress's patience. In the end, a good drink and a good show.  The little guy went home alone that night.

If you're in the Ka'anapali area and you've got a thirst, check it out.  Go jump off of Black Rock while you're there.

This bar was .4 miles from our condo.  So, you know I had to check it out.  After getting kinda lost (is that possible when you are walking on a beach?) we found the place.  It's a cute little place.  You sit outside.  There was live entertainment.  The prices were right up there with everything else in Hawaii.  I got the most expensive sandwich on the menu - Crab and Avocado, because that's how I roll...  And the three of us had the Coco Loco to drink, I think.  Who can remember?!?!  Haha.  I do remember it was a drink in a coconut that you can take home.  See pic!

The sandwich was good. The drink was good.  I'd go back.  I'd recommend it.

If you ever find yourself in Maui, wanting to just kick back, relax and socialize awhile, make tracks straight for The Tiki Bar @ The Ka'anapali Beach hotel, a stones throw from the ocean and a 5 minute walk from Whaler's Village just north of Lahaina Town.
Located out on the back grounds of the hotel, the Tiki Bar (and grill) is the place for tall cool tropical drinks and where locals and tourists alike go to shoot the breeze and unwind. Along with the usual Mai Tai and Lava Flow, they also serve a potent Pina Colada topped off with macadamia nut liquor. While the adjacent food shack has a limited menu, all appetizers go great with these island cocktails.
The best time to arrive is after a busy day of sightseeing, swimming or shopping. As happy hour gets into gear and the sun begins to set, the candles and lights take over and the atmosphere changes as your seat at the bar becomes the perfect vantage point to watch the free nightly show of Hawaiian dancers and musicians. Go with the flow when the party starts to move elsewhere and you could end up at the Sly Mongoose...but then again, that's a whole other story and review.
