My friend loves going to this bar so when he invited me I thought why not! I could give up a night of man-hunting for him! My girl and I arrive at the bar around 8:30p and strangely enough there wasn't anyone checking IDs. No worries we walked in and sat at the bar to way for my other friend. The place itself is on the small side, and while it was fairly empty when I went (Good Friday), I'm sure this place gets PACKED. There are a row of booths/tables along one wall and the opposite wall is the bar, with a pool table at one end near the entrance, and a modern juke box thing at the other end near the bathrooms. The feel is divey, yet classy..love it!

So we sit down at the bar..First thing that happens? One of the patrons asked if we were straight and if so what were we doing there?? I laughed it off, not sure if he was being funny or if it was one of THOSE kinds of places. You know, where we straight people and laughed at and ridiculed :P It's not..at least from this first visit anyway lol.

The bartender asked if anyone was working the door yet so I assume there's normally a door guy checking IDs. We ordered our drinks and was served promptly. Lemme tell you, they do not pour lightly here. The drinks were great and the eye-candy making the drinks were even greater-er.

I think people complained about the music here but well..it's a juke box thing, so it's hard to blame the establishment for the type of music played. I kinda like that you get to pick whatever you want to hear!

I've been going to the Tin Lizzie for about 3 years now and have always had a great time.  I really enjoy the environment and pool table.  There is not many places in orange county that cater to the gays who would rather play pool than dance to Britney, so this bar has quickly found it's way to my heart.

    That is until lately.

There is this late forty-something female bartender with horribly fake boobs and even more awful attitude.  She's constantly liquored up and reeking of booze while working. I have always received great service from all bartenders at this bar EXCEPT her.  At one point last night while sitting at the bar, I heard a patron ask if he could get some beers, to which she snapped back, "Can't you see I'm trying to have a conversation here?!"  It was so loud and obnoxious that even I heard it several feet away over loud music.  I watched her face and could see after a few moments that she wasn't joking when she just continued her conversation with the other patron.

Forgive us paying customers for thinking that since you ARE a bartender, and you ARE at work, that you would possibly trouble yourself to pour some drinks that WE PAY FOR.

On another occasion while still seated at the bar I saw her throwing a handful of ice at someone playing pool.  At first I thought she had known the person and was being a prankster but the confused look on the person's face after it happened was quite the contrary.  The ice barely missed their head and I watched them walk around the table, pick the ice up piece by piece and throw it away in the trash while they continued their game.  I WOULD HAVE WALKED OUT AT THAT MOMENT IF I WERE THEM..  It would be a totally different situation if I were at some house party and she was the "scary-older-lady-thinking-she's-twenty- something," in the corner being obnoxious...BUT its not a house party.  People are there paying money to enjoy themselves.

Now after reading some of these others reviews on here I am even more confused as to why this woman (i use that term loosely because she lacks ANY class) is still employed here amongst all the other bartenders that are awesome.  She provides nothing to the experience but anxiety while trying to avoid her.   It's sad and unfortunate that one person has to ruin it for all.

This isn't to say I wont return.  I won't let some grumpy old lady ruin a place that I enjoy.  I just will simply wait for another bartender to serve me if she is working and I will tip accordingly.  I come from a background of business managing and have learned that these types of employees, if left employed, will slowly turn away customers.   I hope the owner(s) make a wise decision soon.

Good bartender, but TERRIBLE manager. Having a good time then told we needed to "tone it down" for having a good time. What a joke, you shouldn't be treated like that when going to a gay bar for a fun time. If that female manager on March 9 was working for me she would no longer have a job! Go ahead and go here if you want to be treated like crap.
