While in Santa Ana, Doubletree Club Hotel is located at the border of Irvine near Irvine's business district. Â With that said, the location was decent but my problem with this hotel was that they charged $11/day for parking when there is NOTHING nearby worth the walk (i.e. no landmarks). Â So, why do they charge for parking?!
I also didn't like the fact that the room that I stayed in was right next to the freeway, which made it difficult to sleep. Â In addition to the freeway noise, the A/C and heater unit was LOUDDD! Â We had to shut it off to sleep because it was making so much noise. Â Oh, and it didn't help that the refrigerator was loud and the hotel was playing music 24/7. Â The bed was comfortable but I couldn't get a good night's sleep because of all the noise. Â I also didn't like the fact that the refrigerator was old and had a faulty door where often times, it wouldn't close all the way. Â The rooms don't have a microwave so you'll have to ask for someone to set it up for you -- that's if they don't completely ignore your request like they did with me.
If you're going to stay here, think twice before booking! Â It's not worth the money but hey, they'll welcome you with a cookie to offset the exorbitant amount of money that you just paid to stay there.
Stayed here so I could run in the Huntington Beach Surf City half Marathon.  Michelle  Van Winkle, one of the staff went out of her way to be beyond helpful.  She was there when we checked in, up early the next morn to greet the runners and wish them luck and cheered us on when we returned that afternoon!  They had water waiting for us and another cookie as well.  Made me feel like a star and I am a slow runner.  Great staff and thanks again Michelle! Â
This was my third year for this race and this was the best hotel experience of all three years!
We stayed here for the Surf City Marathon/ Half Marathon this past weekend. Â The Staff is wonderful and they had a shuttle to and from the race which is a help. Â Afterwards, they gave runners cookies, water and a standing ovation.
They have the option for Valet or self park, but both are the same price, which I don't get. Â When we got there, we were able to go from a queen bed and a pull out couch to a 2 bed room at no charge. Â Rooms are good size and spacious. Â They had the breakfast opened early for the runners which was greatly appreciated. Â It's a good location if you want to avoid staying on Huntington Beach or Disney Land. Â I'd go back and stay there
