    Story:
Came here for SOBECA's monthly art walk, we got a bit hungry so we went here to eat.

    Food:
Buttermilk Fried Chicken- served with mashed potatoes, collard greens, andouille country gravy this was very memorable. The fried chicken was crispy and flavored with spices, a bit smaller than I expected but it was packed with flavor. The mashed potatoes, collard greens, and gravy complimented the chicken well. Balanced with favorable gravy and mashed potatoes and a authentic collard greens makes me feel like this is authentic southern food.

Ambiance: You have the option of sitting outside or inside. Outside provides more lighting and more space. Inside provides a more inside, dim, cozy, intimate setting, and provides a television. Not really for a large group, maybe 6 at most.

    Customer Service
The workers were assertive with follow ups, knowledgable on the menu, and quick with the food. Service like that are reasons why I would come back.

    Overall:
I give this restaurant 4.5 stars. My only dock would be the price. Delicious food but pretty pricey. I would look into their happy hours and daily deals next time I come here.

Their Buttermilk Fried Chicken doesn't disappoint.

We came here for lunch on a Friday, right at opening time. No waits! and its pick your own table spot.

My mind set was to tryout their Buttermilk Fried Chicken. This Buttermilk Chicken is crisp and tasty, the quality is a million times better than a Swanson TV Fried Chicken dinner! I swear! But hey the potato pancake meshed well with the fried chicken and underneath all that is  their own country gravy. Overall its a bit in the salty side but who cares it's what makes it tasty (I'd live with that over plain and dull any day). Also this entree comes with collard greens, I'm not sure if the that was soaked in broth or butter but it was okay.

If I were to make comparisons between Memphis Cafe's Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Northern Cal's 900 Grayson Demon Lover (fried chicken only) Memphis wins with tastiness to the tip of my tongue!

The meals here are on the pricey side but nice ambience. I will be back here on a weekend to catch their bunch menu. I was told that they serve brunch only weekends and that way I could get an opportunity to try their Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffles instead.

Oh wait! I can't forget to mention Memphis Cafe's Mac & Cheese! It sucks to pay an extra $5 bucks for it but you can't miss out on this side, it's southern delicious!

I met a friend here for lunch because The Camp was jammed. This was my first visit to Memphis. We sat on the patio because we thought the inside seemed loud but even on the patio the noise level can get loud when it's crowded.
I noticed the special was a fried oyster po'boy and shrimp corn chowder. Sounded yummy! I have never had a po'boy (I know hard to believe...someone living in Calif. never eating a po'boy). They were out of the fried oyster (I was bummed) so I ordered the blackened catfish and a bowl of the shrimp corn chowder. My friend ordered the gumbo and a sausage po'boy.
The chowder was creamy and flavorful. I would have liked a bit more "heat" but I know corn chowder isn't typically spicy. I would love that recipe. The catfish was nicely blackened and very flakey. I would have like a bit more heat on this and the roll was very ordinary but  the combination of the catfish, pickle, spicy mayo and greens worked. I ate every single morsel of the sandwich and drop of chowder. At a price of $10 this is a real deal for the money. The service was prompt and polite without being overbearing. Memphis has some great deals during the week, so check those out. I am going back here. I liked the atmosphere, the food, and the service, a perfect trifecta.
