Wine Lab

Decent place. Can't say paying $11 bucks for 3, one ounce tastings is worth it though. The vibe is nice but nothing spectacular. The staff seems to be in their own little world and honestly we could've walked our on our tab a few times. Maybe ill come back but probably not... I'd rather buy some organic wine from whole foods for 11 bucks a bottle than on 9 ounces.

it was a spontaneous trip here on a saturday night as my BF and i wanted to try something different had a thirst for some wine.  it's really hard finding places to go in Orange County that is open after 7-8pm. Luckily, upon searching for "wine bars" on Yelp, this place popped up.  Since it had good reviews AND it was at The Camp, we decided to give it a try.

I have to admit, the parking here SUCKS.  it was completely packed when we came, and literally circled the small lot 6-7 times before getting a spot.  they blocked off an area towards the back of the lot for valet parking now which kind of sucks but i guess if you dont mind playing then it's a good convenience.

anyway, we arrived at Wine Lab and noticed it was a REALLY chill and mellow place.  there were just a handful of people when we arrived and it was so quiet....i thought i was in a library.  we sat at the bar and noticed immediately the test tubes on the counter. and it finally hit me....wine "LAB". ahhhhhh, i get it. LOL what a cleve idea! just for the that alone, i ordered the red wine flight ($15) which includes 3 two oz tastings. you can fill each test tube almost to the top with each tasting.  you get a wine glass plus your test tubes, then you pour the test tubes into the glass when you're ready to taste.  i almost wanted to just drink right out of the test tubes...but i dont think it would have been very classy of me. LOL

both the gentleman and lady who helped us that evening were super generous and friendly.  they were attentive and definitely knew their wines.  after drinking a bit, we decided to order the cheese platter ($15) since everyone around us ordered it too and it looked really good.  they also have a handful of beer on tap so if you're not feeling wine but your date is, you still have the beer option.  

the decor of this place absolutely gorgeous. it's like a mod lab.  there's also an outdoor patio area too which we totally missed so next time we'll have to check it out.

Great service to our group. Manager and servers were very helpful and accomodating. Def. bringing another group there again.
