Lame place. Â I have been there twice now and wouldn't care to ever go back. Â Both occasions were a Tuesday when they have their wings deal. Â The mild BBQ wings were good, but it took a VERY long time to get our orders. Â There were 2 waitresses for the whole establishment and the place was packed. Â There was no where to park and we had to park at the grocery store across the street. Â The waitresses were very busy and told us it would be awhile before we got our food or drinks. Â We appreciated the heads up and asked if we could have something to snack on while we waited, like extra carrot sticks and celery (which come with the wings). Â She said sure and AFTER our food came she dropped off a plate. Â The whole point was to receive the snack before the food arrived. Â It was a plate of 7.5 carrot sticks, some were partial pieces, and 6 pieces of celery. Â When we got our bill we had been charged $4 for that. Â I thought that was f***ed up. Â She brought it 30 minutes after we ordered it, it was hideously small, and we were charged for it?! Â No thanks. Â Also after we finished our food, no one checked on us for 45 minutes. Â We had empty beers and empty plates. Â We had to flag several people down before we were able to get our checks. Â
Also, they don't give you wet wipes or anything to clean yourself off with. Â The BBQ wings are very saucy and make a mess. Â We asked for a stack of napkins and she brought us 4. Â There were 5 of us at the table. Â 4 napkins with BBQ wings don't go very far. Â I finally went into the ladies room to wash my hands and they don't have warm/hot water. Â Just cold. Â Good luck getting thick, sticky BBQ sauce off your face and hands with ice cold water. Â Awesome.
I didn't mind the food, but won't miss the atmosphere, the other patrons, or the service. Â Thumbs down. Â It's just kinda gross.
Sidenote: Â the address is correct, but the picture shown is not the front of Tony's. Â The building is more of an a frame with high ceilings.
We have been here a handful of times but decided to stay and eat and play trivia. The trivia was awful, the questions were not fun, and really for an older age group. The philly cheesesteak was Awsome and the fries are delicious. However the bill was crazy! A double tall bacardi or crown will run you 16 to 18 bucks a drink! If we had known that we would have gotten our food to go and gotten a bottle at safeway or just gone to Dub Pub or somewhere else. The drink prices are insane! Not going to spend a long evening here again if we go back.
Review Source:I wish you could give no stars. Tonys is horrible. Poor service. Waited for over 20 minutes to even be recognized by the staff and they weren't even busy. On top of that the owner Jennifer was extremely rude and passive aggressive when I brought this to her attention. Â They have lost a customer and I will be telling everyone I know not to go to this establishment.
Review Source:I was there for about 5 minutes and wanted to leave. Â We tried to get a drink and the bar tender walked away about 5 times before we finished a sentence. Â He was new or something and looked very green. Â When I tried to order a second drink he would stop look at you and listen for about 5 seconds and walk away. Â He was so weird. Â My brother had to finally go up there and yell at the guy then when I got my drink it was so weak. Â My boyfriend likes to play beer pong here and hang out with old friends but it is not worth more than a meeting place.
Review Source:Met my soon to be ex wife here lol! Â Actually this place is ok. Mi know a lot of the people there, including bartenders and have made some friends that have lasted years with my bull. Â It's that kind of place I guess.
Wings are amazing if you an get a seat. Steak dinners are really good. Â Try the black and blue salad too. Â That's just amazing.
My boyfriend and I go there pretty regularly for Tuesday hot wings night. $3.50 for 10 wings I believe. It is usually busy on this night and orders may take a while, but the wings are good. The staff is friendly. There's pool tables, darts and tvs to entertain you. Fun neighborhoood bar.
Review Source:The first thing that caught my eye were the great happy hour food specials.
The second thing after passing through the door was 'Wow! This place is a lot cleaner and nicer than I ever expected!'
The service was great. The beer price was average. And the happy hour specials were great. I had the nachos. Next time I'm trying out the wings. I'll do ths again.
The place was a little slow and empty for a Thursday, but that's cool with me.
Pretty poor breakfast spot. Â Plenty of tvs and strong bloody Mary's were the only saving grace of this joint. Â Both meals we ordered were cold and pretty small. Â The bacon was see-through thin. Â The quest for a good breakfast spot to watch a football game near woodinville continues!
Review Source:All I got to say is UFC no cover charge!!! wait nix that I don't want more people coming here on fight night. lol
My buddy told me about this place and I really wanted to see Jon Bones Jones take on Rampage. Â We got there in the middle of the card and it was packed. All the seats were filled. But there was some room to stand at the bar and there were tons of tv's so we didn't miss out on any of the action.
Had gone in before to watch the UFC fights once or twice and thought the place was great. Last Saturday night a group of us went again and ordered a few meals. Everything was great until the waitress forced the bill on us. Thinking whatever we paid and gave her a tip.
Few minutes later and only into the 2nd fight of the night the bouncer came over and informed us that our table was reserved and we needed to move. After that another bouncer came up and told us that there was an alcohol minimum and needed move since we apparently didn't order anything. Â Confused we informed them that we had paid over $60 in food, and drinks, and that there was no reason for us to leave because the other tables around us only ordered a glass of beer and water.
Quickly the waitress came over and demanded us to get up and move. Still confused we said whatever trick and stood the rest of the night. Obviously she wanted to seat her friends who decided to show in the middle of the fights. Horrible customer service. Especially for one of the only groups that bought more than two glasses of beer. Never going back again. Unless they hire better staff.
Since my last review the establishment has moved across the street. I like the people, and if Erica or Britney are working you will receive superior effort.....however, other bartenders are often more concerned with making calls on their phones or catering to only a portion of the clientele. Food is so-so. Now I go because of the people that are there. I hope that changes because lately it seems understaffed and some of the staff seem indifferent.
UPDATE Â Have reviewed and updated previously, but having witnessed berating of employees publicly, and the declining service; well my money will go elsewhere. Hard to support such a place.
Are you kidding me? Â what a great find. Â The place does not look exceiting from the oustide as the building looks old. Â Once you walk in, what a transfomation. Â My wife and I like bar and grills but certainly don't like them to be dives per say. Â
Tony's is clean, roomy and doesn't smell like bleach and food. Â As many can agree on, a lot of these bar and grills smell like the food (lack of ventalation) or bar bleach, booze, etc. Â Tony's isn't the case.
Pros: full size shuffle board! Lot's of new TVs, couple of pool tables, sweet golden tee machine, and darts. Â Free WI-FI for us fantasy football junkies. Â Staff was very friendly as the manager came over and introduced himself when he found out this was my wife and I's first time. Â Drinks are stiff as well!
Cons: not much here, maybe the look from the outside but who cares right?
Tuesdays for cheap wings! 10 wings for $2.50 :)
That's about all the good things I can say about this bar. Â I will only come here for their Tuesday wings special. Â Finding parking is terrible, service is slower than drying Rapunzel's hair. Â No seriously, We ordered two baskets of wings and it took a solid 45 minutes and asking the server about it before they came out. Â Ridiculous.
Solid little sports bar in Kingsgate. No real detractors from a sports bar standpoint, but, even though they do everything well, there isn't any one particular thing they do so amazingly well that it would be worth driving past other good sports bars to get here. So--if you are in Kingsgate, then yay Tony's.
The good: high ceiling. Kind of that classic PNW A-frame construction. This might be more of a nostalgia thing for us natives than an actual practical asset, but, still, I loved it.
The kitchen. Now, no, this isn't a good kitchen in the high-end culinary sense. This is a good kitchen in the sense that they have good burgers, chili, nachos, and onion rings to give your beer something to wash down. Good sports bar grub. There was a rib special on last night, as there is, evidently, every Thursday, and there were people there clearly for the ribs.
The prices were totally fair. Three of us ate and drank for $34. That's actually a pretty screamin' deal these days.
The staff. Totally nice, genuinely friendly, helpful, cool folks working the front of the house. Over and above the mere pleasantries of capable professionals, these are people who went into restaurant 'cause they really do like dealing with the public.
TVs and sound system. Crystal clear picture, tons of HD flat screens, great sound, virtually every game worth mentioning was up.
The bad: The volume level. We asked them to turn it down, and they did, which was cool, but blazing cheese rock doesn't actually enhance the sports viewing experience.
Beer selection. Redhook, Manny's, and Mac & Jack might be enough craft beer for some, but for a beer nerd, the faucets are pretty meaningless here. Still, like all the good TVs and solid kitchen choices, they've made smart business decisions about how to appeal to lots of people without totally alienating the more demanding customers, so it's no knock on them. It's just that they have 15+ handles, so adding one interesting keg might probably have really changed our whole visit.
In the end, I don't have anything genuinely bad to say at all about Tony's. I'd happily eat, drink, and watch sports here again, were I in the area. Well-run mass-appeal sports bars like this are viable in every neighborhood, in my opinion. This is Kingsgate's.
Tony's does most of the things right that a sports bar needs to do right. The room is big, open and airy. There were plenty of big screens strategically positioned throughout the place. The prices were great for the food and drinks we bought. The food was good pub grub, and you won't go home hungry but you also won't go home thinking "Wow, this was great stuff!" They were a little cheap on the salsa for my nachos but I probably should have asked for more. The beer selection was decent, but you wont be going to Tony's because you're a beer nerd.
The staff was great. The woman who waited on us could give lessons - she is one of those great people who make you feel like her day was somehow better for having met you.
The sound level was annoying, and not because there were a bunch of loud drunk people - there was only a handful of customers. The music was so loud that we basically had to shout at each other to be heard. They turned down the music a bit when we asked but it was still plenty loud.
Best bar in Kingsgate and the surrounding area for Sunday football.
Plenty of large, HD flatscreens showing every game on Sunday. Â You can sit just about anywhere in the bar and have a decent view of every game that is on.
Breakfast food is sports-bar-average. The rest of the menu is better.
Beer selection is pretty decent.
Service is excellent.
$2 wings on tuesdays is great.
Today is Thursday unfortunately. And I despise their dj. How many times does one have to check the same mic when it's exactly the same each time? Apparently 28462784 for this guy. He also plays like 15 seconds of each song an then moves on to a new one. I've never been so annoyed at a dj before in my life. I'd pay him to step away from the equipment.
Bartenders are great too.
This place has moved:
The new address is:
14417 124th Avenue Northeast, Kirkland, WA 98034
which is next door to the Pizza Bank and across from Safeway.
The same location as the former Suede Sports Bar (if you know where that was)...
The karaoke rocks here and the drinks are strong. Good amount of LCD tvs in the bar with a fun arrangement of "shake weight" infomercials.
My only complaint is, I wish the bartenders would have the decency to stop serving some of their heavier imbibers and call them taxis instead of pushing them out the door to fend for themselves.
One of my friends nearly got into an altercation with a female patron and the bartender when he intervened in prohibiting a woman to drive the 1.5 miles home drunk. We all have families on the roads at night and we'd like to see them again.
This place was fun!! Â Went for a friends 40th bday and the karoke (sp) and we had fun. Â The Dj was great and willing to please, the manager came over and knew us by names (if you had a tab) and the drinks were definitely there to please and get you buzzed...hahahahaha. Â The people were friendly and I will say that all had a great time!!
Review Source:Went here last night for the first time, came especially for the wing night. Â Pretty good wings (quite a few choices of flavors), but at $2.50 for ten, I'm definitely a fan and will be back.
Lots of LCD TVs everywhere, and the vibe from the crowd was very positive. Â It'd be fun to watch some sports here.
A lot of people called the waitstaff/bartenders by name. Â A very good sign of good service and repeated clientele. Â Travis was helping us, and was very attentive and friendly.
I will definitely be back, most likely on a Tuesday for the wing deal, even though it's quite far of a drive for me.
Ah, Tony's Bar & Grill... Â I've spent many a long night here as friends of mine moved into the apartments across the street. Â Tony's is in a weird little Kingsgate neighborhood and is a cool bar to have as your neighborhood bar. Â The crowd is typically pretty cool and there are a number of regulars whose faces you could recognize after a few visits. Â A couple Seahawks have been known to hang out here on occasion, probably as a nice quiet neighborhood place to be left alone. Â
The positives include: Â
$2 Rainiers in a can!
Pool Table
Large outdoor patio (unlike the indoor variety)
Horseshoes on the patio
Typically friendly staff
$2.50 Wing night on Tuesdays (for 10 wings, many varieties, delish!)
Karaoke Tuesday to Saturday starting around 9ish
Friendly patrons so you usually end up meeting a couple people
The downside:
At the end of the night, you're still in Kingsgate...
Bottom line... Â This is a pretty cool "gritty" bar for Kirkland. Â Food is good and specials like wing-night are great! Â They also have a $5 steak, though it might have gone up, on Wednesdays. Â Steak isn't the best steak you'll eat (hopefully!), but it's good and comes with a baked potato and is worth the price. Â Other non-special food is also good! Â Huge karaoke selection.
Yes, it's Tony's Bar & Grill. Â Quite the place, I must say. Â Roughly 4+ years ago, Tony's rose like a phoenix from the ashes of The White Buffalo, which rose from the ashes of Hoagie's Corner (a dilly of a Deli) and welcomes a very diverse crowd for a myriad of events every night of the week. Â Friday & Saturday nights fill up here quite easily with all the locals pining to belt out a song or seven in what has become Kingsgate's lone Karaoke hotspot. Â There is a 92% guarantee that on a weekend night, you will hear "Why don't we get drunk and screw" at least once.
Tony's is a full service bar/grill. Â It's not ideal for sports viewing, but their weekend breakfast specials are pretty decent and the food has gotten better over the years. Â Their wings are probably the best thing that comes out of the kitchen (pretty damn decent), but the standard pub fare is about what you'd expect. Â They offer a decent selection of beers on tap and the bar is full service as well.
The friendliness of the staff varies--mostly because the owner seems to enjoy cleaning house about once every 18 months. Â So, you could easily show up there expecting your favorite bartender with the heavy hand for your Jack & Coke, and find four new people behind the bar that night and for the forseeable future.
This place isn't all that expensive, and the food is a decent value. Â Refrain from ordering shots here as they gouge you big-time. Â That said, they have joined the ranks of dive bars that have the f'd up notion that a shot of Jaeger should cost $6.00+. Â Since when did one shot cost 1/4 of the cost of the bottle? Â I don't get it. Â Anyway, that rant is over.....
In the summer, Tony's has a decent sized patio which is usually abuzz with numerous patrons enjoying a beer, playing horseshoes or awaiting the arrival of the karaoke host. Â Tony's #1 attraction is probably the karaoke, and you get to enjoy every possibly character on an average weekend night. Â It's truly entertaining if the place is packed, but it can be hit-or-miss. Â I wouldn't go out of your way to get here, but if you are trapped in Kingsgate, it is definitely option #1.
