COCKROACHES! Shut this place down. I killed the 1st one but when the second one crawled on the table I was done. Food sucked, small portions. The manager didn't seem to care much. I guess the 2 George's are busy doing other things then cleaning and fixing this place. Look behind the booth in the back right. All roaches.
Review Source:This is more of a 2.5 place, but I'm rounding up for generosity. I ate here on a slow afternoon. The walk in made me a little nervous. Not sure if I passed a vent to a bathroom or what, but something reeked of human waste before I even made it to the patio area. Stepped over a dead roach on the way. That isn't necessarily the fault of the restaurant (they can't control every little detail on the property outside of the restaurant), but it was unappetizing. First impressions and all. Service was quick and friendly. I had the dolphin caesar wrap, which was pretty much without taste but that may have been the nature of the fish; I don't usually eat dolphin, I wouldn't know. No major complaints. Would eat here again.
Review Source:We stated off with the crab dip. It came out half warm, half cold. Obviously microwaved. I got the fish tacos which were ok, but had no flavor and was more like a appetizer size. My wife got the seafood a la vodka which also lacked flavor. I thought the new owners were going make a improvement at this great location.
Review Source:Problems: the waterfront bartenders are "hard" ladies and obviously don't wish to be there. Also, they charge different prices during Happy Hour for the same product--a bottle of Miller Lite is $2.00, or $2.50, or $2.75 depending on who serves you. (The advertised happy hour price on a Friday is $2.00). Also, they automatically keep your change when you pay cash. And they will "swipe" your change off of the bar if you don't keep an eye on them. All in all, these gals need retraining.

The food is vile! I go out with a group of people and one of my group loves the lobster special they have, and anouther person in my group loves the lobster bisque. These are the only 2 items on the menu worth eating there is nothing else that is even edible. The shrimp cocktail comes with cocktail sauce so severly watered down, there is no dijon mustard, no mustard at all although we were informed one of the girls brought in her mustard. the burger is tasteless, the dressings are also severly watered down. Salads are nastry with hard pieces of cabbage making up most of the salad. The rueban looks like someone hacked a corned beef to death and piled the shreds on a piece of bread. Not worth going its bad really really bad bring back the menu and the chef from the old cove the location is great food is gross! I do believe people had food poisening there i
s no turn over beware what you are eating.
I had lunch at the Deerfield Beach location at the Cove, finished my meal that wasn't too enjoyable to begin with...BIG MISTAKE. Hours later that night once I was home (sorry if this is graphic) I became violently ill from food poisoning, with non-stop diarrhea, fever, & vomiting. It was probably one of the WORST experiences of my life & I would never wish it on my worst enemy.
Review Source:We visited the Boynton Beach location on a Monday had an "ok" meal- but saw the ad for the Lobster special. So we enjoyed the day at the beach looking forward to a lobster dinner, drove to the Deerfield location had a drink at the bar expecting a great lobster dinner. As we were seated and on our 2nd drink and then ordered-- at the table when the server came to get our order, "Oh we are out of Lobster"!
A sheer disappointment, as we could have been told as we were seated that "I will gladly seat you, yet if you came for lobster I am sorry we are out" We would have gone somewhere else, but instead we ordered something as we has just started our 2nd drink, and were disappointed even more. The pretzel crusted grouper sandwich was majorly disappointing. To say that the grouper was fresh is a joke!!! As a Florida native I know my fish.
The "acting" Manager took his time getting to our table after asking for the manager to let him know of our disappointment in the lobster dinner special fiasco. 20 minutes to come to a table to hear a customer out is a bit much and quite frankly rude! Â
If you have a certain amount of an advertised meal, say- "while supplies lasts, and inform the patrons as they sit." we hope lesson learned. We will not return.
This restaurant is a secret gem. The place is beautiful, the food was great, and the service was superior. The clams casino can be ordered without bacon, and we're delicious. The dolphin can be ordered with a side of avocado salsa, which was brown, gross and vinegary, so I took it back. The dolphin was cooked to perfection.
Review Source:We went here for dinner on 4th of July and the place was very busy but not busy enough for a wait list. Â We were seated right away. Â The food was just ok, nothing special. Â We had the conch fritters, seafood pasta ala vodka and 2 kids meals. Â But I did love my Dirty Banana :) Â Our waitress was horrible, barely ever came to check on us. Â Luckily a backup waiter came by to help out once in a while. Â I didn't think it was too expensive given the location and all. Â We had 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 kids meals, and 3 alcoholic drinks for under $90. Â We watched the fireworks from the outside bar and it was a nice view from there. Â Will def. not go back there for food, but for drinks I would and the location is really nice too.
Review Source:Went for a dinner on B'day. GREAT location, Below average food, and Expensive!
I love sea food and by appearance it seemed like a place where you can get a really good fish. But it wasnt so. Loved the place though. Just by the river and the bridge. Nice cool breeze at night. Would definitely come again for drinks ( after I have finished my dinner somewhere else)
2.5 stars. Â nice location and view.
My grouper sandwich would have been better unbreaded (had a pretzel coating). Â
The server got a little busy and forgot our extra salsa request. Â His name is Chris and he was a decent server otherwise. Â The conch fritters were not what I thought they would be (they were patty size) but tasted pretty good. Â We saw an iguana hanging out on the patio. Â
3 sandwiches, 2 apps, 3 non-alchohol drinks, 1 mai tai, 2 kids entrees = $98. Â
If the food was better or the prices were lower, I would have rounded up to 3 stars.
Friday night Happy Hour rocks, with lots of good looking young people but expect the Boca Raton crowd to give a snooty vibe to what would otherwise be waterfront bar heaven. As another reviewer said, the women dress up like they are going to a South Beach nightclub rather than a dock bar. They look hot, but I'm sorry, stiletto heels have no place on a wood dock. It just shows where their heads are at.
The food has been mixed, although I admittedly I have not had a sit down diner their in a while.
Service is definitely mixed. I ordered exactly the same drink- Mount Gay Rum with diet coke and lime- and was told three different prices during happy hour, varying as much as two bucks per drink!!!
2 Georges in Boynton, one of my faves, and a place without the service issues mentioned above, bought the Cove, which is good, since it was going downhill for a while.
Advice to management: get better staff out at the dock bar on Fridays and you will make more money. Menu items need beefing up.
I forgot to tell why the dock guy was misleading..
Came here on a Saturday night with a bunch of friends and two boats. Â Docking fee was 60 bucks. That's fine and understandable. Â We were given a 60 dollar gift certificate for there in exchange. Â Awesome! We ordered a lot of drinks and food.. when asked if we would like to use our certificate, we said "Well we plan on coming tomorrow for lunch on the boat. May we use it then and pay for tonight with cash?" The dock guy and waitress said "Yeah that would be great! See you guys tomorrow!"
Came the next day for lunch and when it was time to pay we pulled out the certificates. The bartender said rudely "If you read this, HERE ON THE BOTTOM IN THE FINE PRINT, it says only valid on last nights date. SORRY." and TOSSED it back  onto the table.  Asked to speak to the manager, told him how we clarified with TWO of his employees last night about this situation and they had led us to believe it would be fine. But NOPE.  Manager would not honor it. Even though the people I went with use to go there weekly and would always bring a lot of people with them. Â
They obviously don't care about their customers.
Oh, did I mention their seafood tastes like bait?
The Cover, or "Three Georges" -- whatever it is now, is GROSS all around.
I arrived on a Saturday afternoon during March and the place was jumping with a much older crowd (40 to 50-year-old crowd).
My intention was to grab a quick bite to eat and a couple of beers. As such, I scoped out a seat at the outdoor bar and set up camp. I loved the three large TV's, which had college basketball games on.
Two George's is located in the Cove, and overlooks the Intercoastal. It caters to boaters, but also locals and tourists. It's somewhat rustic in its interior and exterior, unlike a place like Houstons, which caters to a refined clientele.
On this particular day, it was slightly overcast and windy, but still pleasant. There was a one-man band that I thought was exceptional. He played an electric guitar and had a Blues-infused sound and voice. Sadly, no one really paid attention to him. I thought he was great. He sang Key West-inspired songs.
I ordered a burger and fries, along with two Miller Lite beers. I've strayed away from Miller in recent years, but sometimes I'm compelled to recapture my youth. You see, I'm a Milwaukee guy who grew up near historic Plank Road, and feel good when I can support the team of factory workers who carry on that tradition of Milwaukee-brewed beers.
Everything was pleasant. Fluid service. Good food. Above-average music. Nice view of the water. Key West vibe. No complaints. The place was just very ordinary. I'm sure I'll be back, but I won't be itching to return.
After a day of boating at lighthouse point, we came to Two Georges to grab some grub and continue to get our buzz on. Â WOW I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Â
First of all, the location is spectacular - right on the inter-coastal with more than ample outside seating, and a pretty large bar with great views of the water. Â We were able to tie up without a problem and there is someone on the pier managing boat parking.
It was Saturday afternoon and they had an awesome female vocalist playing by the bar. Â We ordered several rounds of drinks and had the calamari and bang bang shrimp. Â Both were surprisingly good. Â The service started off great but ended up pretty slow. Â I guess it was understandable since there was only one bartender managing the full bar and server drink tickets at the same time. Â We were enjoying ourselves immensely so no hurry and no biggie.
Overall this is a GREAT place to pull up by boat and enjoy a nice day in South Florida.
The location right on the West Side of the Intercoastal, on the water couldn't be more delightful. A major plus is that it has very good boat docking if all of the docking space hasn't already been customer taken, which is often the case with "on season" Sundays.
I've been a patron of the Cove for many years, but absent for the last several, only returning on date of this writing. I had hoped the place had remained very much the same which is wjhat is has done physically and appearance wise, but the menu prices have skyrocketed while the food quality has plummeted. The calamari was bland with the consistency of deep fried rubber bands; the seared Ahi tuna was good but the accompanying vegetable medley bland, watery and flavorless. Their special Margarita was good, albeit pricey at $10.00, however the Planter's Punch was watery and of the worst. The Banana Foster with fakey whipped cream, no rich rum or butter flavor; the worst Banana Foster I've ever experienced.
So how do I rate a place with excellent ambiance, a perfect setting, good service but sub par food at an exorbitant price? Well, it's a One "Me Thinks Not" for food, but a Four for location, setting and service.
With other good on the water locations serving great food at reasonable prices, all I can say is that "Meh! I've had better;" scoring it at an overall Two.
Location! Location! Location!
Friday Night! Had such a great time with a group of friends! Took a little while but the DJ definitely rocked it out!!
Food is average: bar food.. although the Bang Bang Shrimp was "banging".
Drinks tasted and looked great! Try the Planters Punch, hear its Amaaazzzingg!!
Boats pull up and servers are able to cater to boaters who want to enjoy the South Florida lifestyle and thus parrrttttyyy :)
I will be back again and will surely bring dancing shoes :)
great view, not so great food. Â Too many other choices to waste time and money here
Actually there was a time when i went for the view and the food was ok.  the drinks are a good deal, two for one..  When I first moved down to Boca and shot over to check out some of the waterfront eats.  But as I started eating in various places like  Latitudes in the Holiday Inn Highland Beach I stopped going to the Cove. It didn't compare.  If you've  been there and say it's improved then I owe it a return visit. ..........of course if your judging by happy hour drinks alone it's fine.  I go for the food and the drinks and whatever is in those little meatballs does not roam this earth.  .
I am a regular at the Cove and the only reason why this place has 4 stars instead of 5 is because of my experience on New Years. It was not a typical friday night, happy hour, but I guess that happened to a lot of places due to the occassion. This place is right on the intercoastal and has great drinks.
I am not a fan of sweet drinks, but their special drink is a plantar's punch with a 151 floater which tastes great and will get you feeling good real quick. The crowd younger which is great for me. In the summer is way better than the summer here because of the outfits the girls are wearing ;)
They have a dj playing at night which does a good job with the music and I have had a few appetizers here, all of which were really good.
This is one of the best happy hour spots in Broward on a Friday night. I will be back again. (And again and again)
Okay, since Yelp is being pushy and demanding I write a review on this place, here you are:
I lived at The Cove's happy hour on Friday every single week for a solid 3 or 4 years, every time I went back to FLA to visit my family. There is something extra sweet about a bar directly on the Intercoastal that has plenty of parking...FOR YOUR BOAT! Nothing makes you feel like more of a gangster than taking your boat to the bar, especially since I moved to Arizona where the only  water is in our cacti.
Went there the day after Thanksgiving with a bunch of my fam after a jaunt out in the ocean for a little Happy Hour action. The best thing that I can remember about The Cove from my youth is the drinks. They were strooong! One round of cocktails and my entire family was drunk. My Aunt who is a BIG fan of the sauce actually had to ask for more mixer in her Rum Runner...I have never seen that in all 27 years of my life. My Planter's Punch was all rum and it was delicious.
Quality food with almost all specialties being seafood, which should come as no surprise as the restaurant is almost completely surrounded by water. Gorgeous views, great for dates if you can get one of the tables overlooking the water and the weather permits.
Also keep an eye out for smokin' deals like $15 lobster night, which for one night every week it finally doesn't cost to be the boss!
We went here last night and almost every single table had a big red lobster sitting on their plate. What a joy when we found out Tuesday night is lobster night. $15 for a lobster dinner, what a steal and the lobsters were excellent.
Add to that a seat right on the inter-coastal and you have a Tuesday night to remember.
I will be here another month and if you ever come looking for me on a Tuesday night I will be sucking down lobsters at the Cove.
I love happy hours! Here again and had an awesome time with Friends!! 2 for 1 drinks. You can never go wrong with the planters punch.
The weather was not all the great but that didn't stop us from a fun night.
Bartenders are awesome and always making sure we have our drinks filled. Music was great too. :)
One more star for them...  Now they've changed their happy hour system, instead of 2 for 1 drinks, you get  1/2 off all drinks until 7pm. Â
A great idea if you ask me.
Great location with lots of parking space, plus Valet parking service. Â Bar inside & out. Â It's also a restaurant, and it's right by the water so if you have a boat just dock and join the fun.
On top of that there's a bunch of restaurants in that plaza, in case you want to grab a bite to eat before you leave, and I-95 is really close so you're on your way to your next stop.
As a  casual place to meet up for happy hour beverages in Deerfield Beach, The Cove is peerless. The location impresses, as it is directly on the intracoastal with an open patio and many tables directly on the water. I enjoy waterfront establishments with superb views, so I will definitely be a return customer.
I did note other reviews that commented on the mediocre eats. I would only say that I did order french fries as routine bar food, but they were scarcely edible.
This probably the best place I've been for happy hour since moving to Broward from Miami, that being said be advised I am only 30 years old and I look as if I am about 20 and even I feel old sometimes. Â Its an interesting crowd you will get a little bit of everything from cougars to 30 somethings looking for a good time. Â On Friday nights the service is hit or miss but that is only because of the amount of people that are there. Â If you are on a boat the service is much better, but if I remember correctly you have to pay $3.00 per foot of boat and this does not even ensure that you will be dockside, you may have to climb over a few boats to get to the dock. Â
Needless to say there is always a line to the restroom on Friday nights and for some strange reason the men's is always longer than the ladies. Â But even on a crazy Friday night you will always get a well made beverage, if you have the power and stamina and patience to make it to the bar. Â
On every other night this place is great, its located right on the intercoastal, which provides great views. Â I've had a number of appetizers and entrees and the food has always been good. Â I'm not telling you its 5 star quality, but its not bar food either. Â I think they have food a good balance between great bar service with good food.
Definitely agree with Renni! Have been coming here for years and it's always a pleasure.
After driving back up Rt 1 from FLL today decided to drop in for some Stone Crab claws and a couple of drinks. It was happy hour when we got there, but did find a parking space and a nice table by the water with a view of the Hillsborough bridge and boat traffic. Very lovely setting. We had a couple of Pina Coladas (always on the lookout for one as good as my home-made version) which were pretty good. Also had a nice Gulf shrimp cocktail and a few Claws and Clams. Â It was all good, and we availed ourselves of the happy hour buffet of Swedish Meatballs, Hush Puppies, and salsa und chips. Â Very nice and accomodating waiter who raised the clear plastic awning on request.
With the claws a $3 a pop and clams at a buck per, and two PC's for price of one, this place is a solid value and a great venue to kill some pleasant time.
Definitely a favorite and highly recommended!
(See, I don't hate everything!)
I'm going with three stars, but that's an average taking into account the different aspects of The Cove: two stars for the food, solidly mediocre, three stars for the hooch--especially the two-for-one deals during happy hour, four stars for the view of the intracoastal waterway, and five stars for the people-watching. The two bars are great for viewing this oddball clientele: (1) retirees leering at the waitstaff; (2) Blackberry-cigar-slick-hair poseurs and best of all, (3) tat-armed half-in-the-bag dudes chatting up shopgirls tarted up after working their shifts. Think Jimmy Buffett's bar-scene inspiration for the classic song "Why Don't We Get Drunk. . . And Screw"
Review Source:I do love that this place is literally on the water and I also love the fresh, breezy air in December, knowing that my family is freezing in Chicago while I'm enjoying some delicious coconut shrimp.
For being right on the coast I'm surprised the food isn't better (Alaska has some AMAZING seafood), but it's not bad either.
I liked the bands that played...made me feel like I was in the Caribbean until all of the overly plasticized FAU students came in. Trust me; when you're only picking a school because of the nightlife nearby (let's face it; FAU isn't exactly known for it's scholastic achievements) then you really have some problems. To each his own, though...but I digress
Service decent, nothing memorable. Great location though...
