The is a family sit down place. We had a group of 4 come in for lunch. It was Conney day. Â The group all got coney's and chips. Â A good choice in the past. We got are food. Both of my buns were old and hard. You would not think that would happen on a day where bun are apart of the big of the day. Â The hot dogs we low end cheap hot dogs. Â No taste at all. If u want people to come inane eat ur food and come back it has to have taste. They other three of the group had the same things on there plate. Â
This place is a landmark of cville and as been around a long time. It's bad that it has turn to serening food like this. I hope they get it together.
Uncle Smiley's is a local diner. The food is cheap and hot and a lot of it. I had the grilled tenderloin that was cooked to perfection, and homemade potato chips that were excellent. One in my party ordered the breaded tenderloin, and it was as big as the plate. The omelets are huge. The service was very slow and we had 8 in our party. The guy at the register was surly. Otherwise, if you want cheap hot American food this is the place.
Review Source:Was in there a few months back with my wife and brother and all I can say is it will be my first and only visit.
We usually dine other places, but this was the only place open while we were in town. The wait for our drinks was ten minutes and the food was definitely not as good as other places. Like for instance the oink burger should be called the yuck burger. That is not a tenderloin. Just my honest opinion.
Uncle Smileys is one of those restaurants that has been around for awhile for a reason. They have something that people love and come back for and that is their famous Big Oink breaded pork tenderloin. Classic Mid-west style breaded tenderloin about the size of dinner plate. Simply delicious. The rest of their menu is decent classic American fare. Busy on Sunday morning and afternoon.
