Upland Brewing Co

Been going here for years for the good local food, recently its a hit or miss with the quality. What really burned a bridge for me was when celebrating a friends birthday there; we ordered the same buffalo burger both medium rare. Mine came out perfectly cooked his came out well done. when the issue was addressed they took it back and brought a new one but still frozen in the center, sent it back again only to have it come out well done again! When we asked for the third time for them to fix the order we were told they would not make another burger for the guy's birthday meal and that we wasted three perfectly cooked burgers (talk about poor management).

I am tempted to give this place 5 stars but the only reason I don't is the service. Neither the food nor the beer leave anything to be desired. I had the wheat ale which is amazing, fresh and cold. My boyfriend had the winter warmer and the dragonfly IPA both of which he enjoyed. We started with the nachos and added southwest tofu which was DEFINITELY a good decision. It is amazing and I was so surprised at the freshness of the tomatoes.

There was some confusion about our table and they ended up deleting our name from the list so we waited longer than we should have.

Four dinner, I ordered the goulash which I would also highly recommend. The green beans were perfectly crispy and flavorful. The sauce was to die for and the orange ginger dressing that the waitress recommended for my salad was also excellent. My boyfriend ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich which I think he liked but I'm not sure it was memorable.

I was extremely impressed with the food and the beer and would definitely return. I suggest going after 9 on a Friday because there really wasn't a wait after that time.

Upland is overrated but still good. Their beers are awesome, with several different varieties and rotating seasonals. Their food is hit-or-miss, as is the service quality. Generally both are acceptable, but rarely do they swing into the 4/5 star range.

The best time to visit Upland is when it's sunny and warm and you can sit on the patio, drink beer, and eat the nachos (which ARE consistently very good). The patio seating is one of this place's biggest positives.
