Viaggio At the Park

Went to Viaggio at the Park after my wife raved about the great time she had there after just stopping in on a whim with a girlfriend for drinks/appetizers. My wife is in the service industry so her standards are high! My experience - Saturday night, dinner rush, Birthday dinner for my wife. They knocked it out of the park!!!!! Waiting for a table we had drinks at the bar, and not only were the drinks great, but the bartender was so friendly and personable. The person seating, a bigger guy, couldn't have been nicer..and funny to boot! Once at the table our server, Joe, not his real name, by his admission, but much easier to say than his true ethnic name ;), greeted us immediately and again, could not have had more personality! I drink a lot of wine, but admittedly not much Italian, but Joe was able to pair me with just the right glass, based on my likes! Had the grilled seafood appetizer, most tender squid and biggest grilled shrimp we've ever had (sorry Greektown). Joe did talk us into the meatball salad, which turned out to be amazing...so simple, yet amazing. The appetizers were so large that we decided to not even attempt to eat an entree and moved right on to dessert. I cant eat dairy, but my wife said the Tiramisu was outstanding. For me, the homemade Limoncello paired with the raspberry sorbet was fantastic. The Park location certainly seems to have a neighborhood feel to it, and we certainly intend on making ourselves regulars! A real Chicago gem that shows how smaller, neighborhood restaurants can be a great departure from the huge, mass chain, steakhouses that are so prevalent in Chicago!

This place is GREAT!!! Everything is top-notch...from the service to the decor to the food! I love Italian food(my favorite cuisine) and the chef at Viaggio is amazing!! I promise you that you will not find better meatballs anywhere!

I have been here many times and have ordered almost everything on the menu. I absolutely love everything that comes out of their kitchen!! And if you have a taste for something that you don't see on the menu...just ask your server...If they have it in their kitchen they will make it for you. No kidding!

I needed a quite place with ourstanding food to entertain a very important client and a friend recommended Viaggio At the Park.  I have eaten at their location on Madison Street a number of times - the food was always great but it was a little too loud for this meeting, so I called and spoke to the owner David nd he told me he would reserve a private booth in the corner for me.  We arrived at 5:30 PM, David greeted us and took us to our private booth which was perfect.  The restaurant is a little smaller and more intimate than the Madison Street locaton but the food was just as amazing.  We started or I shoud say we devoured the Meatball Salad, then had an order of baked clams which were just like I remember growing up on the east coast.  For the main course my client and I had the Veal Osso Buco which was as tender as it was tasty.  We finished with the terra misu and a canoli which were both amazing.  Our waiter was also very attentive to your needs - sorry forgot his name.  I would strongly recommend this to everybody, especially those living in Lincoln Park because it is a neighborhood gem you should support and enjoy.
