I'm not impressed.
Maybe it's because I got take out, but almost nothing was right.
I asked for a large chicken pho with no cilantro. Â I got a large beef pho with no cilantro, no onions, and no basil. Â My noodles are sticky, and the broth is a little too salty for me.
Next time I'm sick, I'll try the only other pho place near me.
Authentic Vietnamese food at a great value. Â I had a huge portion of beef lemongrass for under $7. Â Summer rolls were excellent, maybe the best i've had yet. Â The owner is very friendly and took the time to explain the menu items and mix us up some different sauces. Â If I lived in Denver I'd go here all the time
Review Source:My coworkers and I stopped into this place after a hike. It's really close to where we work and where I live. I wasn't WOWed by it like a lot of people seem to have been, but it was good. Something unique about the fresh spring rolls. I usually go to Phö Duy II now cuz my coworker likes that one better, but maybe I'll give this place another shot. There's no boba though! And I feel like next time I'll ask for less cilantro in the broth.
Review Source:This hole in the wall is a true gem!
Summary: I went in with a friend and we didn't say one word while wolfing down our noodles. We were completely stuffed, drank every last drop of the soup, and paid around $6.50 each (regular Pho and spicy beef noodle soup).
The owner is a very kind man and definitely takes pride in his work. He brings over our sauce bottles and unscrewed the caps so we wouldn't have to. Talk about being considerate. He also checks up on us twice in the most non-intrusive and polite manner.
We were thoroughly impressed, and can't wait to try out the rest of their menu.
Awesome diamond in the rough. Â Can't believe we've lived near here for 8 years and only recently discovered it. Â You wouldn't think much of it driving by, as it's tucked between a sketchy check casher and a barbershop, but give it a shot and you'll be hooked like everyone else. Â Owner/server/busboy seems to know most of the regulars, when we were there he sat down with several and chatted before their food was ready. Â He preps the sauces at your table and will customize the level of spice. Â Super friendly with my family and young kids, even brought some cookies over for them at the end of our meal.
Oh and you will think you've been undercharged, the food is so plentiful and the prices so reasonable.
My wife and I checked into a cheap motel by Denver airport so we won't have to hustle too much in the morning. Â It's vacation after all. Â We also were not picky for dinner because we hit a lot of the top spots in Boulder, and simple food would have been just fine.
Before Yelp, we'd have gone to the pub at the corner or one of the chains nearby, but we in the mood for Vietnamese. Â Vietnamese Cuisine had the highest rating, so we figured, why not?
This is a very simple place, hidden on the far side of a non-descript strip mall. Â There we no cars in front, and no one inside. Â We got there just 1/2 hour before closing time. Â The menu is simple and small, just two pages, so we had no trouble deciding what sounded good. Â We ordered spring rolls, a seafood noodle soup and a chicken noodle bowl, assuming the food will be simple and quickly made.
Well, it WAS simple and quick, and oh so GOOD. Â But there's more. Â The owner came out and asked how spicy we like our food, and demonstrated how to prepare the condiments to our liking. Â He asked whether we had any allergies to the peanut sauce, and spent time explaining how each dish was made. Â I think, because he never saw us before, he assumed this was our first taste of Vietnamese food. Â I have to say, we both were totally charmed by this gentleman.
But wait, there's a bit more. Â The chicken in the noodle bowl was marinated and flavorful, with an interesting range of good textures in each bite. Â The broth in the seafood soup was the best I've ever tasted. Â We weren't starving when we went in, but only a stray noodle or two were left when we were done,
This place was a delightful surprise, and will be a stop on our next trip to this area. Â Also my faith in Yelp users (Yelpers?) is strengthened.
My family has been going here for literally 20 years and it's never faltered. It's a family owned restaurant and the guy is most friendly person you'll ever meet. He has THE BEST SPRING ROLLS in the entire city, and I've tried quite a few. His grilled meats in his noodle bowls can't be touched either. Every time I eat there he comes by and mixes the sauces I'll need to everyone individual taste (spicy's the way to go) and just loves what he's doing. His food proves it.
He does it simple, he does it big, he does it right. He's fair on his prices too, especially for how much you get when you're eating there. You will keep coming back to this place after you go there once, I guarantee it!
After living much of last year in Hanoi, I enjoy sampling Vietnamese restaurants here in the US whenever I travel. Â On a quick trip to Boulderthis weekend, I found Vietnamese Cuisine on the way from DIA and was very glad I did. Â Â
Their chicken pho is probably the best I've had. Â Ever. Â Aside from the standard chicken pho ingredients (fresh white meat chicken, rice noodles, onions, herbs), the ginger broth was outstanding. Â The portion was generously served in a large bowl with fresh lime. Â Really, really good. Â One note: it wasn't listed on the menu as standard "pho ga". Â I can't remember the name, but think it was listed under menu item "10SP".
We also tried the springrolls which were prepared to order and also featured fresh shrimp, pork and herbs. Â
While not on the menu, I was happy that they also served my favorite Vietnamese beverage, iced coffee. Â If you haven't tried it, ask for "ca phe sua da". Â Fresh, Veitnamese coffee served with sweetened condensed milk and served on ice is fantastic and Vietnamese Cusinse does this very well.
As an out of town CU season ticket holder, I won't get back to Denver until this fall, but will be sure to visit Vietnamese Cuisine while I'm in town for each of the Buff's home games. Â I'd highly recommend it.
I finally found a family-owned restaurant in Denver that I want to visit regularly! Â Thanks to Yelp, I stumbled upon this place after a morning at the DMV, neighborhood post office and Wells Fargo, all within a few blocks of this corner.
Others sing praises of the owner's customer service; that means a lot to me in my dining experience. Â He was wonderful and went out of the way for subtle touches to make certain that my meal was the best it could be. The place, while not packed, had the essence of 'Cheers' in that everyone seemed to be regulars. He knew the order of a couple guys who walked in even before they sat down. Â
I had the spring rolls (as amazing as others said) and the grilled pork rice "plate", which was a huge bowl of goodness. Â Very fresh ingredients, the meat was as flavorful as any I've had in Colorado, anywhere. He mixed the fish sauce at my table, a la guacamole at upscale Latin restaurants.
Just a couple miles north of campus on Peoria and 47th. Stop by for great food, nice prices and excellent service!
I had to go to the DMV one day and the friggen line was so long I figured I could go get lunch while I waited. I totally randomly spotted this place and from the looks of it from the outside, I was a little worried. It really is a little hole in the wall place in a random run down strip mall. Â When I entered, however the room was pretty full of customers which is a very good indicator of good food.
And it was good! I got the rice noodle bowl with shrimp to go. Under 7 bucks with tax and the to go box was HEAVY, filled to the brim with tasty goodness. The shrimp were big and there were 6 of them where many places give you 4-5 small ones. If it wasn't so far away from my house I'd eat there all the time.
I'm definitely going back as soon as I can.
One of my favorite places in Denver. Â I try to go there whenever I'm in town. Â They have a variety of vietnamese dishes. Â Their pho is pretty good, and their rice noodle dish (especially with lemongrass beef) are nice on summer days. Â I especially recommend bun bo hue on cold days which is a spicy beef broth and not found in other places I've been. Â Only reason it has only 4 stars because the ambience could be a little better but it is a great hole-n-the-wall type of place that is a treasure to find.
Review Source:Quick stop on the way to the DIA/ Denver airport. Gimme them spring rolls to go!
The portions are generous and the staff is very friendly. The ambiance is nothing special but who cares? This is good, cheap food.
The shopping mall it's in is nothing to write home about. I saw a couple of dodgy people around but nothing that could deter me from returning to the restaurant.
MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm
Got lunch here again today, this time to go. Â The styrofoam box was packed so full of goodness it must have weighed 10 lbs and yet still the artistic presentation was there - it looked like it should have been the cover of delicious tasty take-out magazine!
Somethin about these egg rolls man, I don't know... they are SO GOOD and so crisp, but don't leave you with a funky pungent aftertaste like some fillings can. Â
Do I feel full? Â Yes. Â A little too full? Â Perhaps. Â But that too full and gross heavy greasy pit-stomach feeling? Â Not a chance. Â These are fresh, quality ingredients and you can tell every meal is cooked with love.
What are you waiting for?
I've eaten here for over 10 years, and always enjoy it. Â But this week I hit upon what will be my new favorite dish -- the 13-SP. Â A spicy beef broth with thick noodles, beef shank, cilantro and a few mixed vegetables. Â It is delicious! Â Since this restaurant doesn't serve Pho (except just a couple of weeks each winter), the soups are a good alternative.
It's true, this place is not fancy. Â The parking lot is also hectic. Â But the food is very good, the owner cares about his business and it's a perfect place to grab lunch with friends or co-workers in a relaxed setting.
