Better than average beer selection for the area featuring local and national micros. I visited on wing night and the wings were great. Kids meals were decently priced and otherwise fine. In summary, above average bar type food priced right with a nice beer selection. Certainly a good choice for a casual dinner.

A note to the tavern itself - it would be good to delete the Megan T. review. It looks like an ad. If you are going to post your own review then try to be a bit more sneaky about it.

From the outside, it's obvious that this restaurant is not huge. But don't let that stear you away from all of the amazing things this place has to offer. Starting from the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the local wait staff that make you feel like you too are a local. Then you have the option of chosing one of the 21 beers they have on tap which has something for everyone; even Saranac Root Beer for the ones who do not wish to drink an alcoholic beverage. Their menu offers a great balance between bar food, soup, salad, sandwiches, and entrees, not typical of most tavern style restaurants. Their freshly made soups are all to die for! A few favorites being, Buffalo Chicken Wing, New England Clam Chowder, and Tomato Feta Florentine. And if you're not full from the delicious entree that you'll have eaten every bite, you will have the opportunity to try the delicious homemade cheesecake. I can honestly say I've never tried anything I don't like at The Village Tavern and it's definitely a place you wouldn't want to pass up!

Really liked the burger I had.  Went with the Village Tavern's "Classic" with cheese,  which was their most basic burger--large, thick and very juicy.   I ordered it cooked Medium and that's how it was served.  It comes with fresh lettuce, tomato and a red onion slice (which I skipped), and a nice piece of cheddar on top.  The burger and the bun were so thick and juicy, I enjoyed it without ketchup or anything else--very filling and really good.  The burger also came with a side of chips made right on premises, which were warm and nicely salted--much better than ordinary potato chips.  Price was reasonable, service was very good--all in all, a good. solid burger plate I highly recommend.
