Absolutely delicious pizza, no pizza place in the area can touch this place. I have been to their Maplewood location as well. I recommend the buffalo chicken pizza, that's my go-to...and then I have to go-to the gym because it is so decadent.

Best pizza in Summit. Try the Grandma's with fresh mozzarella. Mange!

My favorite of the local pizza joints in Summit. I have tried a pretty wide variety of food here from cheese slices to dinner entrees and never have I been disappointed. I absolutely LOVE their calzones, definitely one of the best I ever had.

I did frequently enjoy eating here, but unfortunately all good things must come to an end...So the reason for that is, I found a hair on my pizza...ewwwwww!!!! I said to myself maybe this was just an accident...then i start paying attention to when i eat the slices...then i went again and found a piece of paper of sort..then i was okay no...if i found something twice...must be something! I get easily grossed out so i cant imagine eating there again...Sorry

Probably the best pizza in Union County. I'm not a big fan of specialty slices, so I'm basing this mainly on a large cheese pie. The line for slices is always long though.

The pies are cooked just right. Nice place to eat in too, although it is small and gets very busy.

Very good pizza. We had the bruscetta pizza (a special) and the spinach/ricotta. Both were yummy. The bread they give you at the table was so delicious. Salad was fresh with lots of tomato, mozzarella, and red pepper. Waiters were attentive and quick, even with it being a Friday night.

Great spot.  The specialty pizzas are all great, and they have a decent sized pasta/salad/sandwich menu as well.

What puts this place over the top is the staff.  All the employees are kind and polite - it has the feel of a real neighborhood spot.  You can have a cheap dinner, be in and out quickly, and be genuinely happy with the food.

Best pizza in and around Summit, hands down. They really get creative with the toppings, and all of their creations seem to work. Also, nothing beats $2.50 for a loaded slice.

Love their pizzas, especially the greek salad pizza.  Very refreshing, and by having vegetables on the slice, it makes me feel less guilty for eating pizza.  Yummy!

This place has the most diverse selection of specialty pizzas, and it is quite a feat that every one of them tastes amazing.  When I went there it was $2.75 a slice after tax, which is hard to beat.  They also had a grilled chicken/mozz/vege's sandwich for like $4.87 which was ridiculously good value.  The owner is young and very enthusiastic.  Combination of great tasting interesting pizzas, unbeatable value, and friendly service make this place one of the best.

My review is based solely on the pizza because I've never had anything else there.  The  regular pizza is delicious and the greek salad pizza is amazing.  I can do without the dolmades on it but that's easy to take off.  This pizza is always fresh never soggy.  It is always packed there and parking is hard to get but totally worth it!

Best pizza in Summit, most definitely.  And head and shoulders above the rest, not even close.  Can get crowed and the kids can be a pain, but the pies are perfect.  The crust is just the right thickness and with the right amount of crunchy, and the toppings are fresh and abundant, the pie variety broad.  They reheat slices in the oven, not on some toaster belt.  Once this place opened, I stopped bothering with Doria'[s and Randazzo (was never a fan of the recently closed "Summit Brick Oven" operation).  Try it, you'll love it.

Probably the best pizza in town, and that's saying a lot for a town with a lot of good pizza. The place is small and always jammed, so we usually eat take out, but it's a great place to stop in on an off-hour for a bite. Specials are always good and fresh and the staff is actually nice, somewhat shocking for Summit which has perfected its own brand aloofness. You will smell it 200 yards down the sidewalk, and it always smells great.

I am sort of torn writing this review. First off the pizza here is very good and the quality of the cheese stands out. The staff is super friendly and very welcoming. However, the other food I ordered so far has been subpar at best. Due to the friendly atmosphere and good pizza, I will still come back and try other items on the menu.

It's always on our list when we visit Summit.  Interior isn't fancy, but they have really good pizza.  My comparator is other neighborhood, local pizzerias not chain style. The interior is nothing fancy, but it's clean and the staff is welcoming.  If you can't agree on which pie to get, pizza by the slice comes in dozens of varieties just waiting to be warmed up for you.

Just ordered chicken roselli (cold sub) for lunch today. I really thought the sub would taste good because of the description I read on the menu. "grilled chicken arugula, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers with balsamic on our own pizza bread." I was so wrong. The sub had no flavor and I had to add some jalapenos to it. On another day I did try their pizza which was ok. Nothing special. The staff is very efficient and nice.

I don't understand the rave reviews of this place.  The pizza simply is not up to the level of Casa di Pizza in Westfield or Pizzeta in Millburn, which both have the same basic concept of several types of pizza available by the slice.  I have tried the chicken ranch, the "Grandma's" and the barbecue chicken.  I found the crust to be dry and uninteresting on all, and the chicken overcooked on both containing it.  Service was distracted.  Will avoid this place in favor of the other two, hands down.

My husband and I had dinner at Village Trattoria last Friday, and we were pleasantly surprised.  The (thin crust) pizza was outstanding, and the staff was really friendly.  The place was hopping with take-out orders, so the food was a bit of a wait, but well worth the wait!  The dining area is very small, so get there early to get a table.

I've only every had takeout pizza from this place, but it has been excellent every time I've eaten it.  They have some really unusual pizzas that stretch the boundaries of what pizza is.  The strangest one is the chicken finger pie which has chicken fingers, french fries and instead of red sauce, honey mustard.  Sounds weird, but it works really well and is delicious.   They also have a chicken francese pizza that is quite tasty.  The standard pizza is pretty good and their red sauce has a nice tang to it.

    more like 3.5 stars.

Friendly, neighbhood Italian place.  The pizza is pretty good and so is the pasta.

Great for a casual dinner with friends or even for a very casual date.  Also good for families.  Place is small, though.  So if you have a big group- get there early.

I love stopping by here for a quick slice when I'm running errands around town.  It seems to be busy all.the.time.  They really know their stuff when it comes to pizza - the crust is thin and crispy, the sauce is delish, and there is just enough cheese on top to be gooey but not overly so.  I really wish they delivered!

Best pizza in this town by a long shot. I only do takeout, but it's very good. So good that I won't knock a star off for not offering delivery. Big fan of the tomato+basil+eggplant pie.

The only problem is an overwhelming amount of obnoxious middle school students that always seem to be standing in the way, no matter the time of day.

Everything I tried here was good. The caesar salad, philly cheese steak, fried calamari, and the linguine and clam sauce. The linguine and clam sauce is amazing, best I ever had. The prices arent too bad for Summit.

Stumbled on this restaurant the first day I came to Summit and now have lunch here everyday. After two years they have not served me a bad meal. Favorite pizza is the Chicken Murphy or Chicken Scampi and the pasta dishes are always al dente and tasty.
Louie does a great job running the place and he never seems to forget a name.

Solid casual Italian/pizza spot in Summit... the hot sandwiches are very reasonably priced, and the chicken parm pizza is very good.  Their pizza overall isn't dynamite, but it's better than average and the service is quick and friendly and you can't beat their prices in Summit.  My girlfriend is a fan of their salads as well, which are also a nice size for the price, and served with fresh bread.

We love this place - it is what it is - affordable, tasty Italian fare in a very nice setting, with friendly service.  When the weather is good, it's fun to sit outside.  We really like the Margherita pizza and the spicy mussels (under appetizers).  Why 4 stars?  I wish they delivered.

This is our go-to place when we don't have any food in the house and don't feel like going out to eat. The food is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. When my boyfirend and I go, I usually get the chicken salad with mozzarella in a balsamic dressing. It's a huge salad and loaded with chicken and fresh mozz. Comes with yummy bread too so I can get my carb fix.  My boyfriend gets 2 - 3 slices of pizza (plain, chicken parm or sicilian) AND he gets a chicken parm sandwich. He likes to eat.  I try to watch my figure which is why I opt for the salad, but I usually always take a bite of his pizza and hot sandwich ( much to his dismay) and they are heavenly. All this for under $20. It's a gem.

Great food.  The buffalo pizza has bleu cheese sauce which ruins it but the bread is spectalar.  The award winning mural and other decor set classy yet informal mood.  This place is a revolving door at dinner time with people buying take-out.  That says a lot.  BYOB!

Great specialty pizzas, excellent salads, and awesome dinners. My fav here is the linguine w/white clam sauce, i'm quite fond of it, chopped clams as well as whole, perfect balance of garlic/broth and a huge portion. not a sit down place if you ask me, although there are a number of tables, but take-out is the way i go...better than most of the sit-down Italian in Summit in my opinion!

Summit is a commuter town with houses that average at 1.4 million dollars a pop. When we moved here (into our decidedly LESS than 1.4 million dollar apartment) we thought we'd never find a meal for the two of us,  fresh -out- of- grad- school-with- nothing- but -dirt -in -our- pockets, food lovers. . but we have. We've found the Village Trattoria and it's wonderful item: The Original Calzone. OH HEAVEN= copious amounts of ricotta, mozzarella, and a big bowl of their homeade signature red sauce. Which, can I just say that any place that has a huge caldron of Italian sauce simmering on a giant stove behind the counter all day has my stomach?! It feeds both of us, and all for under 7 dollars.

The Village Trattoria has an odd mix of waitors that all seem to be Spanish (something I have found to be the case in NYC's Little Italy as well- um, does anyone else think this is ODD?!) and then the owner/manager (not sure) who is decidedly Italian. You can have the Calzone for about 6 bucks, or sit down and have a delightful pumpkin risotto, or lobster ravioli for 13-16 bucks.. All is wonderful!
