My wife and I love this place and have never had a bad meal. I would recommend them to anyone especially the homemade lemonciello martini which is my wifes favorite. All pasta  is homemade and very tasty. The item on the menu that I have had and didn't care for was there Gnocchi which were a little dense and the sauce was overly sweet with lobster and corn. Other than that great place!
Review Source:Decent food, terrible service, and high price tag. I did come here with a big party, but that is no excuse to be inattentive and slow. The bread was fresh and delicious. For appetizers, the calamari was good; the marinara has a kick and the aoli had a good balance of garlic. The star of the night was the Veal Parmesan. I was surprised how well the dish worked, but again it was extremely expensive.
I would not come here again unless it was a special occasion or someone treated me.
Terrible service. Â Undercooked food. Â Rude Chef. Â I suggested this restaurant to my family based on the wonderful reviews. Â We had a 7:15pm reservation on a Friday night. Â We were on time. Â We were seated at the worst table in the house next to the restrooms and the lounge. Â The Lounge, kitchen and restroom traffic was so noisy we couldn't hear each other talk. Â We asked to move and were told all the other open tables were reserved. Â By the end of our experience, only one of the empty tables along the wall next to the patio had been seated. Â Those people came after us, ate and left before we even got our dinner. Â After we were seated with menus, we did not get any offer for bread, drinks or acknowledgement until I flagged down a waiter and asked if we could have some water and bread-15 minutes after we were seated. Â Our waiter finally introduced himself, took our wine and appetizer orders and disappeared for another 35 minutes until the appetizers were served. Â At that time, we placed our dinner order. Â An hour later, still no dinner. Â We sat down at 7:15 and it was now 9:15- we had two 11 year old boys in our party who were hungry and tired. Â Nothing but bread even for the children. Â Finally, when we had all had it with the bad service and being ignored, the head of our party asked for the check-we were ready to leave and find food anywhere we could. Â Instead of coming back with the check, the waiter disappeared and food runners came out with our food. Â I took a bite of my scallop dinner to find the scallop undercooked. Â The head of the party seated across from me cut open his veal chop and it was raw!! Â At that point, we all said we are done! Â Bring us the check (again). Â Instead of getting the check, the CHEF came out to our table and confronted the head of our party by saying "Is there a problem here?". Â The head of our party started to explain the bad experience it had been so far and the Chef cut him off and tried to start a verbal war with him. Â It was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Â We will not go back. Â The head of our party was so upset he left the waiter a $ 50 tip to PROVE our complaints were not about money and not wanting to pay for the food. Â The service, food and staff were just awful to us. Â I've never had a worse experience. Â We thought we were in for a nice relaxing dinner in a beautiful upscale restaurant. Â We left hungry, upset and horribly disappointed after 2 hours of wanting to believe the experience would get better. Â I wish we would never have sat down.
Review Source:My wife and I ate here for the first time on 6/17/2013. Â The dining room was around 1/3 full, and the service was very prompt. Â We were seated right away, and our server took our drink orders within a minute. Â He also brought out the fresh bread and olive oil, and it was great.
The bread was piping hot and very fresh. Â Crust was just stiff enough so that it crunched when squeezed, but not so much that it hurt your mouth. Â The olive oil was also very good, with more of a green olive flavor than most I've had. Â
We opted for the bruschetta as an appetizer. Â It was ok, but a couple of the bread pieces were very hard, like almost felt like my tooth would chip, hard.
My wife selected to have the house salad, and our server graciously offered to split it, since he said the salad was rather large. Â It was great: not too much dressing and a good mix of greens.
For our main courses, we chose the filet mignon and lasagna. Â The filet was cooked just as my wife had ordered, and was very flavorful. Â It came with a red wine sauce, green beans, and mashed potato. Â All were delicious. Â The lasagna was served piping hot (a definite plus for me), and also was excellent.
We had no room for dessert, so I'll have to report on that at our next visit.
Overall, I would highly recommend Vittoria to friends and family.
Sub par food. Â Have been there a half-dozen times and it just serves fair food at high prices. Â The staff is good but the dishes are either bland (shrimp and lemon pepper linguine $25.00--tasted like shrimp and water) or unappetizing (chicken picatta-$21--served with what looked to be boiled (WHITE) chicken-blah! Â So many choices in Powell and in Columbus, I am done with this place.
Review Source:Very, very impressed! Â We had a change of plans and found this on Yelp by it's vicinity to our Saturday night out venue. Â
The atmosphere is fantastic, the service was top notch and the food was out of this world. Â
We had the calamari for appetizer. It was perfectly, lightly fried. Â The large portion was surprising, as well. Â The gazpacho was light and full of fresh delicious flavors. Â Both entrees were outstanding. Â The veal piccata was tender and full of fresh, bright flavors. Â The homemade fettucini Alfredo was perfect. Â The pistachio crusted chicken was just as delightful. Â Sweet and lightly fried...yum! Â
The superstar of the meal was unexpected. Â The asparagus served with the chicken was the best prepared asparagus we have ever had. Â It was perfectly cooked and seasoned with the sweet Marsala caramel sauce......two thumbs up!!!
We will be back!!!
We ventured up here to go to Luce up the street the Saturday after the Storm of the Century, only to find Luce closed with no power. Â I was like, FML...so since we were already up here we saw this place and decided to go in. Â I was chosen to do the recon work when we arrived since it looked busy. Â I was sent in to scope out the scene and check on a wait for a table. Â Does anyone remember the scene in Ferris Bueller's Day Off when they walk into Chez Quis in downtown chi-town and try to get seated by the "snotty NOT snooty" guy at the host stand? Â Lolz-2-the-walls...did this guy resemble and act like him, only not quite as rude. Â I thought I was going to have to go back into the kitchen and fake call the host stand and ask for Abe Froman. Â Yes there was a wait, and no I wasn't waiting---so I went outside and my friends and I came back in and sat at the bar.
This is a really nice place--great ambiance. Â Had some stiff drinks at the bar while we were waiting for dinner. Â Service at the bar was fine--had a few issues but nothing to write about.
I had the veal marsala--I've had better but it was still good. Â Rather tough--I was actually wondering if they subbed pork for the veal, I couldn't really tell if it was veal or not. Â I started with some calamari that came out nice and super crisp. Â One friend got pizza that I thought looked and tasted awful, but he enjoyed it.
We asked for dessert, but were never brought menus, just the checks so they must've wanted us to leave.
I'd say this place is alright. Â I don't know that I'd venture up here to frequent it, but when the power is out all over town and this is your only choice it will do.
Second time not a charm!
Our first visit was not great. After reading my review the restaurant owner contacted me and we were invited back - complimentary. I agreed to a second visit, but, without them knowing I was coming in for dinner.
Second time - the place is classy, beautiful, great atmosphere. And, again Jackie the manager who I was hoping would not hear anything negative from me - was again listening to my complaints towards the end of dinner.
Bread awesome, Jackie fantastic asset to this company, Todd one of the managers that sent me the gift cards - no longer employed there.
I ordered a pizzette - listed as fig, fontina and prosciutto. I have a big problem with food servied with ingredients that are not listed on the menu. I asked that the fontina be replaced with mozzarella cheese and the server said no problem. The pizzette came out with what seemed like a half a pound of watercress on the top and under the mozzarella a layer of another creamy cheese mix. As I have a very sensitive stomach to certain foods - and that is why I am very specific as to what I order - I expect my food to come out they way I order it with no additions from the kitchen or variations from the menu.
The server said it was a layer of alfredo sauce, Jackie the mgr. wasn't exactly sure what it was. So, I was not happy and sent it back. I did not care for the way the caesar salad was served - I don't want to have to cut my lettuce up and the dressing did not taste like any caesar dressing I am used to - tasteless cream. A server brought out my husbands side pasta and my friends steak and the rest of the main courses came out 7 minutes after. If all dinners are not ready together, don't bring any out.
My husbands veal parm - just ok. Friends chicken parm just ok and her pasta was not cooked enough. On a positive note other friend's steak was fine and everyone loved the meatballs.
Ended with chocolate cake - odd flavor not very chocolate give it a 2 out of 5, same with the gelato.
Thank you for extending the complimentary visit, but, second time was not a charm I wish the owners only the best, we will not be dining here again. We love Jackie, give her a raise.
This place is definitely one of the best dining options in Columbus, and hands down the best most classiest place in Powell, I mean, I love Two Mad Dogs but they don't exactly serve wine and creme brule in a classy atmosphere, I go there so I don't get dirty looks when my kids make a big mess and drop ice cream on the floor.
I don't get why a lot of people say this place isn't good for kids? Â Sure I think you should leave the young ones at home, under 15, but that's so you can have a nice, quiet, relaxing date night, especially if you're going to spend the money this place is gonna be taking. Â But I see nothing wrong with bringing the kids if you want or have to bring them. Â They do have high chairs...
Very few restaurants offer service on the level of Vittoria...Ruth Chris's, Eddie Merlots, G Michael's Bistro to name a few. Â The service is definitely on par with that class of restaurant and the food is almost that good.
I'm not a pasta eater so I usually get a meat dish. Â The lamb here is outstanding, it comes apart in your mouth like butter and has just the right amount of mint and rosemary, Luce Enoteca only wishes their lamb tasted as good as this places lamb. Â
I can't remember what my wife had, but I think it was something with risotto. Â She's a very very picky eater and she loved her meal.
To finish it off we had the creme brule...prepared perfectly. Â CHILLED and then toasted. Â I hate those places that make it when the custard is warm, yuck. Â Not here, done well and right with some fruit. Â Perfect date night type of restaurant, definitely take your girl here if you really want to get some after dinner.
Sat in the bar area - good service, nice food. Fairly legit Italian, which is a compliment considering my wife is fresh off the boat. Got a nice limoncello on the house for the delay (waitress swore it was just limoncello - I've never had it that good , seemed like cream or something was added?) pretty expensive, but I'd go back.
Review Source:A very bad experience. The food poisoning kicked in 4 hours after dining. Horrible cramping, diarrhea, sweats. It lasted about 5 hours until I was finally flushed out. I went back the next morning to tell the manager politely that there might be a problem in the kitchen. He was dismissive and impolite, not their problem, couldn't be caused by their food. Another member of our party also became ill after dinner, but not as severe. I'll never go back.
Review Source:The menu has gone through a small overhaul but the main course meals remain delicioso. Â My preference lately has been to keep things somewhat lighter by making a combo of a salad and appetizer. Â Favorite? Â Try the Vittoria Wedge that is a beautiful whole chunk of lettuce with bleu cheese crumbles, bacon bits and some exotic cherry tomatoes. Add the meatball appetizer to it. Â You'll get two meal-sized meatballs with drizzles of marinara sauce all bedded down on some soft, warm provolone cheese. Â Visit Vittorias on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and enjoy the cocktail lounge featuring the beautiful Danielle - she'll boost your spirits and bump your cocktail. Â Vittoria di Ristorante is deelish!
Review Source:We recently ventured to Vittoria for my birthday dinner and by the sound of the name I was for sure thinking I was going to divulge in some awesome Italian. Â After reviewing the menu, I opted for a non-Italian dish and ordered the Filet with some kind of cheese sauce over mushroom ravioli. Â Fantastic! Â I definitely like my meat pink and ordered it medium rare. Â It simply melted in my mouth. Â My boyfriend ordered Crab Alfredo (which btw is not on the menu) and it was also very delicious.
Wine selection was decent along with the prices - there were a few reasonably priced bottles and also a few high roller priced bottles with a little of everything in between. Â
The atmosphere is romantic, but the ceiling is a bit high and coupled with the openness of the room - the noise level decreases the romantic aspect a wee bit. Â Overall, it was a good experience and a trip back will definitely be in our future.
They almost got a 2 for this update......We've gone back a couple times now and happily have not had my olfactory nerves assaulted ;) Â Service has always been good, the bread (my weakness) is great, the crab cakes are small and although a bit more cakey than I'd like - are still good. They are served on top of spinach with some sauces drizzled on the plate one being a sweet/sour type sauce I usually associate with dipping my calamari in.
Their seafood risotto had nice big chunks of lobster and shrimp in it and is very rich. Â So where did they almost get a 2? Their lasagna. Â Big huge square of mostly somewhat dry meat (the meat had a filler taste to it) with hardly any noodles and even less sauce. Â It was more of a meat loaf than lasagna. Â Not a fan of that.
My wife and I dined at Vittoria one beautiful sunny day and sat out on the outdoor patio. Â That was the start of a great evening. Â The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. The food was fantastic. Â We popped in for dinner one late afternoon, and they were not yet open for dinner. We were about 15 minutes early. Â We sat at the bar, had a drink and they were VERY welcoming. Â Great experiences at Vittoria!
Review Source:Alright, so my first impression of Vittoria was that is seemed VERY high end, first stepping into the restaurant I felt slightly under-dressed. The atmosphere was very high end. You could definitely tell they payed a lot of attention to ascetics. Unfortunately that's when Vittoria stopped impressing me.
When we sat down our server did promptly greet us and was very kind. he took our drink order and then basically left us for a good 15-20 mins without any thing. Mind you this was a Monday evening and the restaurant was basically dead.
After waiting a little longer our waiter did come back with our drinks and took our food order.
Now for what this food is, combined with the pricing and the atmosphere of the restaurant you would expect some really great tasting food. Unfortunately we were sorely disappointed in that respect as well. Out of everything we ordered the only good food (in my opinion) was the Calamari and the Alfredo. The calamari was cooked basically perfectly and was tender the sauces were pretty standard but good. The alfredo was delicious (unfortunately I was not the one who ordered it).
Everything else was almost tasteless and bland. The ravioli was enormous and slightly undercooked and grainy. The sauce on top was not very good either. The Bolognese was also bland and tasteless (though I suppose from experience Bolognese is typically like this). My grandmother ordered a seafood spaghetti which had too much salt.
Overall, the dining experience was sub-par and I believe the restaurant was very over-hyped and had mediocre food at best. The price was over the top for the average dining experience we had. The interior was very luxe and well designed, I enjoyed the open floor plan.
Would I come back here? Probably not on my own free will. Would I recommend this restaurant to anyone? No, save your hard earned cash and go else where.
Although I am not Italian, I grew up around them and married one. Â So, I believe that makes me authorized to 'dish' out Italian restaurant reviews. Â And, yes, I may be a bit more harsh than most. Â My husband's Italian Grandmother would expect no less!
There's three things I normally order to gauge an Italian restaurant: the sauce, the meatballs, and the eggplant Parmesan. Â I personally haven't eaten sauce out of a jar in decades, so, I don't want to eat a meal at a restaurant that includes it. Â And, here, that doesn't seem to be the case. Â The tomato sauce tastes homemade and is not sweet. Â The meatballs are soft and flavorful and could be a meal on their own. Â But, it is definitely, the eggplant Parmesan that brings me back. Â It is layered and decadent. Â And, since it is one of their least expensive meals (but they still put a lot of care into it), tells me they care about keeping the customer happy, not just profits.
The atmosphere is also friendly and a bit upscale. Â No shorts or t-shirts here. Â So, it's nice to stop for dinner right after work or for an evening out when you want to get a little dressed up.
They have a varied wine list, but have found that the servers are not very knowledgeable about the differences and have even had one server open the bottle at the bar and not in front of us at the table. Â At $30+ a bottle, this is an issue in my book.
We really love this place. Â Their food is quite good. Â Their house salad is amazing and there actually isn't a dish there that we haven't liked. Â Carlo is an amazing waiter. Â My only complaint is the noise level. Â The beautiful rounded ceiling doesn't help reduce the noise... It actually magnifies it. Â Go earlier or later if you want a quieter dinner.
Review Source:I won a couple gift cards for Restaurant Week and decided to treat a friend to dinner here. Upon entering, the atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming- as any Italian restaurant should be.
Our server was young and shy, but excellent. The only thing that threw me off was that we weren't given or offered the Restaurant Week menu upon being seated. Other restaurants really highlight the event and we had to ask for it.
Nevertheless, we ordered the prix fixe three courses : I chose the calamari, caesar salad and shrimp & sausage arrabbiata. I am normally not a huge calamari fan, but it was fantastic. The caesar salad wasn't anything extra special, but shrimp & sausage arrabbiata was delicious. I would have personally liked the vodka sauce to be spicier, but the pasta was perfect and it was a rich, satisfying dish.
My friend ordered the bruschetta and veal alla sorrentina, the former seeming to be a small portion considering the heaping amount of calamari I was given (not that we needed more with the three courses and bread, but I digress). The veal dish was great even though that is not my kind of meal.
Overall, it was a delicious and relaxing dining experience. Vittoria is a little pricey for college students, but it seems like one of the best Italian places in Columbus.
We had a great dinner here recently. Â The atmosphere is really great, romantic and a little trendy. Â We didn't get a drink at the bar but it looked like a nice place to come a little early and grab a drink before dinner. Â Service was a little slow but good, I think they were more crowded than they were expecting so our waitress had a lot of tables but she was still really good and we weren't in any hurry. Â We ordered the caprese app and it was soooo good; the grilled eggplant with it really stood out as different and delicious. Â For dinner I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops w risotto which was amazing and DH ordered the sea bass w gnocchi special and it was great as well. Â For dessert we got the chocolate cheesecake which was good. Overall dinner was excellent and we will definitely return.
Review Source:While it isn't the Italian food i'm used to or prefer, it is clear that it is high quality and that care and effort is put into each dish. Our table got the crab cakes, wedding soup, chicken parm and eggplant parm.
The crabcakes didn't knock my socks off but they were presented well and had good consistency. The wedding soup tasted more like chicken soup with meatballs. My chicken parm was easily the best i've had in Columbus. We both thought the eggplant was really mushy. It still tasted good, but again not what i'm used to and probably wouldn't get it again for the price. Pasta also tasted very grainy (made on site), which I can respect but don't prefer.
Service was top notch, and the decor is great (I was impressed with the high ceilings). Vittoria does not go easy on the wallet, but it also feels like you're in a place that is worth the money. Price and distance make going here regularly improbable, but I think it would be a great location to take a date or have a special dinner. Esp the date angle since you can hit Menchies on the way back down sawmill.
I would have to say this is the best Italian I've had in Columbus so far.
From the moment you enter this wonderful Italian paradise, you get the sense of exquisite Italian Dining. The atmosphere is top notch. Beginning with the rather large marble top bar to the beautiful decor of the dining room, you can sense that the owners wanted to do this right. The ambiance is wonderful.
Added to that, the food is out of this world. The calamari on the appetizer menu is second to none as are the salad's and the variety of other dishes. The fish is ALWAYS fresh and scrumptious! Â My fav is definitely the Veal Marsala.... it is a wickedly decadent dish! Â Done to perfection. All of the pasta is perfect and to made to suit your taste. Everything is made to order. Â Make sure you order the Limoncello to finish off your meal.
The patio is a well kept secret! You just have to have lunch on a breezy, warm summer's day. A real treat!
The Staff is warm and inviting. From the Bartenders to Carlo (Woop! Woop! ), Â Vittoria's is my Italian Destination for friends family and for business. You won't go wrong with an evening here. It will impress everyone. Besides, you just NEVER know WHO you might see here.....
You can taste the care they take with their food. Â The eggplant parmesan is big and rich and the cheese is the only thing you will need to cut with a knife--the eggplant is so tender.
We have been here for dinner and for a private event. Â The staff is always helpful and will go out of their way to make your time their pleasurable.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the bar service. Â At this level of dining, wine bottles need to be opened at the table. Â Twice we have had servers open bottles of wine elsewhere (I am assuming at the bar) and they have brought the wrong bottle's. Â We weren't sure if this is their way of up-selling or getting rid of old bottles. Â On a positive note. Â When we did say something to the manager, they brought the correct bottle.
My new favorite place to dine in Central Ohio. Â The food is absolutely amazing as is the service. Â Being a vegan it is not always easy to find a place that will accommodate a vegan. Â They have a fabulous pasta dish with olive oil and kalamata olives. Â I ordered side of sauteed mushrooms to add to the dish. Â It was amazing. Â
My husband is hooked on the ravioli. Â We love the fresh hot loaves of Italian bread. Â Perfect place to meet friends and have an enjoyable evening.
I visit Vit's every Wednesday... yes, EVERY Wednesday. I'm proud to be a regular amongst a bunch of older business exec's and big wigs when I'm a lowly 28 year old waspy blonde labor contractor. They treat me well, and we shoot the sh*t for hours. The regular bartender Seanen is a gem. She is absolutely adorable, and provides amazing service at the bar and warm and friendly conversation every time.
The sausage and peppers and calamari are by far some of the best appetizers I've ever had. The calamari comes with a lemon aioli and marinara sauce along with mild banana peppers. The sausage is smoked and sauteed with fresh peppers. DELICIOUS x 1000000 etc.
Their salmon is incredible, even on the salad. Jumbo ravioli about made me faint at the size, and the yumm-o factor. Coupled with a stella artois to start and tasty merlot? seriously? I want the owner to adopt me.
Casual or dressy, you can get away with either. I'm happy to have found this almost hidden place in Powell, but I'm pretty happy I did. I've never once been disappointed... and I'll be there tonight... AS USUAL. If you're there on a Wednesday, feel free to say hi to me at the bar! :D
this place is probably one of hte best options in columbus. it's totally great for powell, but i think even for columbus it'd be worth the drive. drinks are great and calamari is very good. it's not easy to be impressed by italian i don't think and this does it without oversalting or being too greasy. it's far larger than it looks from outside. the decor is over the top, but it's kind of nice oddly. i'd definitely go here again and am sad they aren't open later on sundays.
Review Source:I had dinner with my wife here on Thursday night. She has been there several times, this was my first visit. It will not be my last.
We did not have reservations as dining here was a last minute decision, but we were seated immediately.
I ordered the Bruschetta and Susan ordered Sausage and Peppers for appetizers. Both were a major disappointment and the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. The flavors did not come together in either dish. They could have served the sausage and peppers in separate bowls, the flavors were that distinct and separate. The Bruschetta seemed like tomatoes piled on toast with some basil sprinkled on top. There was not even a hint of garlic or olive oil. When I make it, I let the tomatoes and basil marinade in olive oil, then pile on toasted bread that has been rubbed with garlic. But my disappointment with the restaurant ends here. I will also add that our waiter did everything possible to try and make my Bruschetta right, offering to bring more fresh basil, more olive oil, etc. But in the end, nothing could save it.
I ordered Wedding Soup and it was out of this world fantastic. I'm always hesitant to order soups as many restaurants try to make up for lack of flavor and seasoning by adding massive amounts of salt. This soup was some of the very best I've ever had.
For the main course I ordered the Seafood Risotto. I was somewhat surprised to see it piled on my plate. Risotto should flow and take the form of the serving dish. I wasn't quite sure what to make of this mound of risotto. But wow, the flavor was mouth-watering. It was obviously made with a fish stock as the rice was just infused with wonderful flavor. They didn't skimp on the shrimp either. I didn't count them but there were plenty of shrimp to make this a hearty and very filling dish.
And finally, dessert. What could top off an Italian meal better than a Cannoli and washed down with Cappuccino? Nice creamy filling with just the right amount of sweetness. Fabulous.
I will definitely go back, I'll just start with the Wedding Soup and bypass the appetizers.
Vittoria has a little good and a lot bad; overall it is not up to par with other options. Â The food is good--the seafood stew special they had was really good. Â That is where the good ends. Â The place is an identity crisis in motion. Â The decor is trying to be upscale, but doesn't quite pull it off. Â The rest of the experience, particularly the service, definitely doesn't pull off upscale. Â Our server would literally walk right up to our table and immediately interrupt someone mid-conversation. Â Even the servers at Applebee's stand there and wait! Â The servers at restaurants Vittoria is trying to compete with stay out of the area until the right time. Â When someone needed another drink or something else, the waitress was nowhere to found, and when she did pass in the area the standard cues to get her assistance were ignored. Â Her attitude was also poor. Â I brought my wife and a business associate and his wife there for dinner and was embarassed. Â I should add that I very rarely complain about service--so for me to write this review took HORRIBLE service. Â Luce, just up the street, is miles better -- better atmosphere, better service, and better food.
