Ok...for all the whiners reviewing this place....any place called "Waffle House" is not gonna be fine dining. Â It is, however, your usual breakfast food with some Hoosier flair. Â The food is good, of course not fine dining...it's breakfast food. Â But if you like eggs and bacon and cheap coffee and biscuits its good. And you'll get a bit of a cultural experience out of it all, especially if you go late at night...It's open 24/7!
Review Source:I cannot stop laughing when I think of this restaurant. When I was an undergrad, my boyfriend and I were frequent customers there. Waitresses were the nicest people, I must tell. The food was just average.
But there was one night that I will remember for a long time. It was after 12AM when we decided to have dinner there. When we came in, there was just an old white couple sitting at a far table. Suddenly, I hear they say to each other in a loud manner: "Look, chinks just came."
Haha, yes, we look Asian, and that was the only time we encoutered such a warm, hearty greeting :-)
But if you don't care much about the restaurant's vibe and surrounding atmosphere, and just want to feed your hunger, go for it.
Such a piece of shit restaurant. Â
NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the famous WAFFLE HOUSE CHAIN. Â This is the Waffle House Family Restaurant of Indiana, Inc. (check out the sign)
Here, they dish up overpriced, low quality slop.
I used to eat here as a freshman in college because it was the only 24-hour egg place we knew about. Â Let me tell you, there's a whole world of better egg joints out there.
Not nearly as close to the action, but half the price with twice the smiles is Cloverleaf Family Restaurant.

Best features:
Free wifi
Bottomless coffee
No rush to leave
Interesting mix of locals -- interesting enough to make some notes in my "character file". Â Lots of old people when we were there.
Food is ok. Â We had eggs, toast, and a pecan waffle. It was nice that they warmed up the syrup
Waitress was nice.
Worst features:
Interesting women's bathroom -- two toilets, no divider? That's togetherness.
Antique interior, but not of an era anyone's wanting to remember. Â I'd say late seventies.
This place has decent breakfast for a decent price. It's really nothing special, but from what I've had before it's better than Denny's (Bigger portions for a little less). If you don't like Bloomington water (If you've lived there, you know what I mean), stay away from the tea and water, last time I checked they didn't filter!
