If you want to have karaoke and the best lumpia ever, come here. You can make a left for the beach, or a right for this restaurant. It's that close to the water. Sitting outside is great, if you don't mind seagulls. I had their pasta outside once and it was splendid. I love the atmosphere of the place. Chill, wooden floors, nice lightning. It's nice. :)
Oh, it's in Rodeo. Hercules? Not even.
i have been here several times and i never order a dish yet becuase i only came there for the parties. the drinks are good. there bartenders will not ignore you and will serve you. ive been getting adios' in a quickness maybe cause i know the bartender but overall they are friendly. Â the inside is great. the place is pretty big and they got there own deck at the back and they even have a KARAOKE
Review Source:Yes, I feel really bad only giving two stars, but honestly, I can't give any more. Â Those 2 were for pity, certainly nothing else.
I decided to try out the restaurant based on their cable tv ad's. Â They claimed to have wonderful seafood, in a bustling atmosphere. Â I should have known something was wrong when there were only 4 cars in the parking lot.
When we entered, there wasn't anyone in the lobby area. Â We looked to the right into the bar area and there were a few folks at the bar for a private party. Â My husband finally went around into the hostess area and roused someone's attention.
We were the only ones seated in the dining room. Â I ordered clam chowder, which was a gluey mess with lumps of roux in it. Â Yuck!
My pasta with clams, a complete disaster. Â Talk about no flavor! Â They could have just given me erasers instead of clams and I wouldn't have known the difference. Â I couldn't put enough salt and pepper on them to save them. Â My husband ordered the halibut, which was equally bad. Â I ate some of his, so I wouldn't starve to death.
Sorry folks, I can't give you a second chance. Â I'd be surprised if you stay in business like this.
My best friend had her 30th b-day party here last weekend and we had a blast! She was able to reserve the bar area and back covered patio for a great price!
She brought in the Mango Kingz and a DJ for music and turned it into a club! They were able to accomodate a $7 grey goose & cranberry drink special for her, which was great!
We didn't eat here, but did come for a graduation luncheon once and the food was decent. But, I did hear that their buffalo wings are off the hook!!
I've only experienced the bar/karaoke part myself so that's all I really know about. But I've been there about three or four times for family/friends of family parties (all on Fridays, I believe). Decent drinks, very good lumpia and it's even fun just to watch people do karaoke. I love karaoke but have yet to actually sing there.
Not much to look at in the daytime, but the lights from whatever kind of nearby plant and the water make it pretty at night. Watch out for those peacocks (I think they're peacocks). Haven't pecked me yet, but you never know.
Not Good and Way Overpriced. Â
Like a previous reviewer, my husband and I really wanted to like this place. Â There isn't much to choose from in the Hercules/Rodeo area. Â We showed up around 7:00 on a weeknight. Â Our waitress really couldn't be bothered with us. Â We placed our drink orders - Greyhound for hubby (weak) and Pinot Grigio for me (served warm - ew).
Based on our server's can't-be-bothered attitude combined with our not-so-impressive drinks, we decided on just the clam chowder and an appetizer to start. Â
Clam chowder was ok, but I wouldn't order it again. Â Hubby liked it. Â The appetizers were mixed (hot wings were yummy, zucchini & potato wedges not impressive, but edible). Â We were then going to order an entree to share, but no one came to check on us, offer a drink refill, or take our entree order for over 10 minutes after finishing our appetizers. Â We decided to leave at that point.
Add to this the "view" which is really a bunch of muck (tide was out I believe) and a view of the refinery. Â
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Â Spend your money at the Deadfish instead. Â The view there is gorgeous and the food is yummy for the same prices.
Not great food, but not bad. It is a nice place to sit outside on the deck a warm day.
In about the same category as The Nantucket. The view is better at The Nantucket. The food is slightly better at The Waterfront.
Decent house made clam chowder served with oyster crackers. Â Thickened with flour with maybe a bit of sour cream. there were a few clams, large chunks of potatoes and some fresh scallions.
The  large piece of fresh snapper was perfectly cooked. The wine sauce had too many capers. but was OK. Next time I'd order it without sauce. It came with a big serving of spaghetti in a chunky tomato sauce and was sprinkled with fresh parsley and a Kraft-like Parmesan cheese.. The rolls were not very good.
The service was pleasant if not polished. They don't try to rush you out, so it is pleasant watching the sun set on San Pablo Bay and the lights start to twinkle at the Conoco-Phillips refinery. There's lots of wildlife in the nearby marsh like sandpipers and large white cranes.
We went here on a weeknight. We really wanted to like it, but the food was not worth what we paid. The service was fine.
I ordered a seafood pasta dish which was good. My wife ordered the surf and turf. The lobster was way over-cooked to point of being dried out. She didn't want to complain or send it back - she ate the steak which was okay.
We spent $85 which was too much.
We were very disappointed with the food.
The Waterfront is a Restaurant as well as a bar...but I'm only reveiwing the bar side.
On Friday's they have karaoke and saturday nights they have a band...the band is a cover band and not bad but my favorite night to go is friday....nothing like karaoke and lumpia...yes I said it LUMPIA. My favorite filipino appetizer ever!
The combo of karaoke and lumpia started with a friend of mine who has lots of parties that always end up with everyone singing badly to 80's music and she always makes lumpia (shanghi is the best).
So to be able to go to a bar and participate in some bad singing and have some freshly made lumpia is like heaven for me!
