Just dropped in on the way to an appointment to get breakfast. Sat at counter, chairs have backs which is a plus. Scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries were very good and made exactly how I ordered. Overheard another first timer exclaim his satisfaction. Would definitely go back.
Little bit slow to take my order but no complaints here.
Met a friend to catch up on things and have a cup of coffee. Â From the minute we sat down the waitress was rude and annoying. Â Â Despite that fact that the place was not busy and there were numerous empty tables, the waitress interrupted our conversation to let me know we needed to leave because we were taking up her tables. Â When I went to pay the bill and confronted the owner/manager he turned to his wife and spoke greek to her and ignored me. Â I complained about the waitress and he just stared at me. Â AVOID this place at all costs. Â The fish stinks from the head and this place stinks. Â I used to go here regularly with my wife and 3 kids. Â I will never go here and again and will let everyone know to avoid this place.
Review Source:If I could give negative stars I would. Â I just walked out of this diner with my family. Â The owner is incredibly rude. Â We were in the midst of giving our order to our waitress (after waiting about 10 min for her) when he rudely pulled her away for her to go wrap another customers food. Â My husband and I were completely shocked. Â After that she came back, & apologized. Â When I asked if I could have chips on my pancakes off a breakfast special (& I would obviously pay extra), the owner refused to do it. Â My husband said, we're leaving! Â As we were walking out, we explained WHY to the owner and he had the audacity to blame the waitress. Â I said, "its not her fault, its YOUR fault!!". Â Â We go out a lot and I have never witnessed something like this. I would never go back.
Review Source:I got the California Pancakes (walnuts and banana). A little expensive for just pancakes ($9.95) but they were very good. I also got a carrot cake flavored cupcake and baklava for later. The Baklava was made perfect and the cupcake was good but not great. I would return when in the area. Very nice owner.
Review Source:Out of all the diners I've tried in the Westwood/Hillsdale/Park Ridge area, I find myself always coming back here for a pretty decent breakfast. I personally like the cinnamon raisin French toast. I mean, it's a diner and ultimately most diner food is all the same...that being said, until I find a better diner in my area, Westwood is my go-to diner.
Review Source:I like this diner better than Seville by far. It's a little further but so worth the drive.
Right off the bat, their coffee is much better than other diners. The servers are always friendly and there to serve you. They're pretty good at making sure you have what you need.
I like when a burger doesn't come out like a hockey puck and it doesn't here. The fries are fresh and crunchy which makes me a HAPPY CAMPER. Nothing worse than soggy fries! Last time I was here I got a bowl of soup and it was excellent. My family frequents here for breakfast as well and it's always up to par.
Don't get me wrong, this is not a fancy place or some up scale diner-restaurant cross over. It's your standard diner but it exceeds my usual experience in food quality and service.
This has been one of my local go-to diners for almost 20 years. Â It does what diners are supposed to do: serve up large portions of basic, good food with little-to-no frills and even less worry about calories or cholesterol. Â The staff is appropriately gruff, as they should be in any self-respecting NJ diner. Â The food is good in all respects.
Review Source:What is wrong with diners in jersey?
When making an omellete the stuff goes INSIDE the eggs. Not on top, not on the outside, not mixed in the eggs, and not on the side.
This place gets the cheese inside but somehow adheres the stuffing to the outside.
The patriotic pancakes (blueberry, banana and strawberry) were pretty good.
The bacon was not good. More fat than meat.
And finally, why do diners charge fresh squeezed prices for concentrated OJ? You know we can tell the diff right?
A whole bunch of us were in Jersey for  wedding, so we went to the Westwood Diner for breakfast.  In my long life of Jersey-girl-a-tude, I have never actually been to a diner for breakfast.  It was really crowded in the diner, but they were able to make space for all of us and let the late arrivals pull up another table.
I think I got an omelet, and it was pretty good. Â Nice hash browns. Â And of course, reasonable.
