White Rose System

good stuff. Everything a NJ diner should be: cozy, mom-and-pop, and can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I was attracted to it bc I saw it was featured in Food Network's Bobby Flay's show awhile ago. But to pass the test (it can't just a one-hit wonder), I tasted things outside the famed sliders.  Jalapeno popper were good!

it's a very typical nj diner. but their food is done right. their sliders ("mini"-burgers) were delicious. their fish and grit was very good. and they were very cheap, which is typical for nj diners, i suppose.

This is my first stop in the Slider circuit. (White Manna, White Rose, etc). I went here first cause I was nearby.
It was just as expected, a small steel diner with mostly original furnishings. Cold inside though, like the heat was off.
I ordered 2 sliders with onions, fries & a soda. ($6.50)
The sliders came on plain hamburger buns (like the ones at the supermarket) and sliced pickles on the side.
The meat was tasty, the onions make the flavor, BUT, there was too much bun for this baby burger and a lame bun at that. The fries were ordinary diner fries. I would skip them and get another burger.
Verdict...needs more meat, different bun. Maybe charge slightly more, but judging from the area I can understand the situation.
I'm still giving this place 3 stars because the owner was friendly, the meat was good and I guess I get all tingley for these type of establishments.
