I came here with my boyfriend on a Monday evening (around 5pm) for dinner. Â We were the only ones in the restaurant, so the waiters were very attentive but seemed to be pushing extras on us (appetizers, drinks, etc). Â My bf has the Estrella beer (from Barcelona) and I had the red Sangria which was pretty tasty. Â We didn't order any appetizers, but to our surprise our entrees didn't come with any soup or salad. Â The bread that came out was very hot- which was a plus. Â I ordered the chicken with goat cheese sauce- the sauce was very cheesy and creamy just as I expected and the dish came with thinly sliced, fried potatoes. Â My boyfriend ordered the special- sirloin steak "Portuguese" style with ham and fried egg. Â The steak was thick but pretty fatty and was brought out rare even though it was ordered medium (however, I know from working at restaurants that this definition varies, he still ate the entire steak and enjoyed it!). Â The entrees were expensive (16 and 21 respectively) and we went with a http://restaurant.com coupon. Â I would come back only if I had a similar deal/coupon, because the food it too pricey otherwise.
Review Source:Menu's not huge, but portions are.
They have a good $20 deal that comes w/appetizer, main course and dessert and I think beverage as well..
Ordering from the menu I had the appetizer of sausage, shrimp, n mushrooms. Â Tasty. Â Their bread n butter was really good too, nice n crusty, slightly sweet tasting.
Your meal comes w/soup or salad. Â Salad looked good. Â I had the soup on this cold rainy evening. Â Caldo gallego, a cuban white bean and kale soup, was pretty tasty, but not hearty.
I had the surf and turf dinner... for $30 I was expecting more for sure.. The lobster tail and steak weren't very big. Â Steak looked dry, but was cooked well and tender. Â The lobster tail was dry w/no taste..
Had a taste of paella, which was pretty good n the price was right too. Â Huge portion. Â
For dessert I decided on the mango mousse which tasted pretty good n fresh.
Our waiter was slightly sarcastic.. when I asked what types of beer they had, he said something along the lines of "wouldn't it be obvious what we have?" a family friend ordered a steak but didn't realize it came w/shrimp on top (she's allergic) waiter said he specifically said there was shrimp on it... well she made a mistake sir.. shit, she had to say something cause she CAN'T EAT IT . Â she apologized... relax..
All in all food's not bad.. but on the pricey side.. I'd much prefer Don Quijote's in Fairview instead..
