Winberies is defunct.  Me restaurant opening in the same location in late October.

After a very poor showing two weeks ago at brunch, I am not surprised.  One of our table asked for some jalapeño in the omelette.  Well, the omelette guy started to fry up about five peppers which promptly filled the restaurant with pepper smoke causing many people to start coughing.

Not good...better luck to the new folks

Average food and service was adequate but it is obvious if you dont order a bottle of wine or some drinks that you wont be getting good service.  Music and acoustics make having conversations a challenge.

The Sunday brunch is AMAZING!  I had my baby shower there and it was perfect.  The back room is nice and private and the service was great.  There is something on the buffet for everyone and it all tastes delicious!  I've also been there for lunch and it's pretty good too but I think the brunch is the best!

The food is pretty good and the servers are nice.  Nothing special but a good place.

We ate at Winberie's for the first time last evening with friends of ours.  In all honesty, we picked the restaurant because we've all driven by many times and because the Americana-esque menu appealed to my very picky friend's fiancé.

The restaurant is a very small chain, and although nice inside was nothing particularly unique or interesting.  My husband and I shared the hummus as an appetizer.  The hummus was good-I'd give it three stars but I wasn't particularly impressed with the flatbread accompanying it--too bland and crunchy for the hummus.

I had the crab cakes for dinner and my husband had the steak with pomme frites.  I would give both entrees a three as well, but the sides only a two.  My vegetables were somewhat overcooked and bland and the rice blend had no seasoning whatsoever. I would recommend the crab cakes themselves-tasty and rife with large pieces of crab.

The wine and beer list is perfectly average.  I was disappointed with the draft list; as a fan of microbrews, you're bound to be disappointed when the most interesting thing on tap is Sam Adams seasonal.  The wine list is similarly lacking.  The bottle list of beers is slightly better.

The service was lacking-somewhat slow and our waiter didn't seem to know much about the food or drink offerings.  In summary, this place is decent and a good choice for those with picky palates. I probably won't be back if I'm picking the restaurant.

I always order the artichoke dip with pita chips- it's DELICIOUS, albeit not very healthy. The complimentary bread and butter are also surprisingly delicious. Good selection of drinks. A nice casual-yet-sophisticated place. I've heard that the food is a little hit-or-miss, ranging from really good to not-so-great, but definitely not bad. Can be a little noisy, but has nice ambience. Neither expensive nor cheap. I would recommend it overall.

I have been there (once) with my office friends and the food was good.  Very nice inside, which you wouldn't guess from the outside.

Lots of people here, having a good time. Service was acceptable, but nothing special. Really it's about the food here.

    Hoping to go back soon.

We use this place as a local "go to" place when we want some aps and a beverage.
My wife and I usually sit at the bar to avoid waiting. They have a few tables in the bar area also. We mostly get light fare but have been know to get a burger or two. Salads are good. Bartenders have always been attentive and nice. I wouldn't say it's the best food I've ever eaten but it is consistently a good experience every time we go...cheers!

Like to stop in here for lunch from time to time and was most recently here for a department holiday lunch. I always enjoy the food here and I've had their salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, and most recently their Chicken Marsala. The Chicken Marsala was so tender that I was able to cut the chicken with my fork alone. Often times when I get this dish at other places, the chicken is kind of dried out. The beef vegetable soup was very flavorful and the apple pie and cheesecake were delicious. Service has always been good and friendly. Definitely worth giving a try and I will definitely be back.

We decided to come in for dinner because we were staying just down the street.  The place looks really small on the outside but its actually quite large.  They had a great looking menu and many daily specials that were not on the menu.  Service took about 15 minutes just to ask us for our drinks.  We placed our appetizer orders too.  About 5 minutes later he came back with our drinks however wrong but it was ok.  We ordered our food and our appetizer soon arrived.  We had the Irish Nachos which were potato chips that are house made along with bacon, cheddar cheese, scallions, sour cream and we got the guacamole to go along.  These were very good, however not enough.
We had to stop and ask our waiter a few times to refill our water, he was kind of busy and I guess he forgot.  As soon as our food arrived we needed some parmesan cheese for my sons pasta.  The waiter never brought it to the table.  I had the Steak Diane, which was really lacking in flavor.  My wife had the Steak Frites which was good.  All in all it was kind of pricey and not that great.   We may stop by if we are ever in the neighborhood again.

I go to Winberie's on occasion with co-workers; usually for lunch. The food is decent and the staff is very good. The Hickory Burger is very good, and the appetizers are standard fare.

We were visiting from out of town and actually ate here on a Saturday night and late Sunday afternoon (post brunch time, pre-dinner). Both times the food and service were good, but nothing was extraordinary hence the three stars. The ambiance was nice, the restaurant and bathroom clean, but the menu needs to add some interesting things in addition to the mostly standard choices. For the price, I felt the desserts were not a good value as the portions were small.

I came to Winberie's this past Sunday for an engagement brunch. I had no idea what we were in for, but when I entered the restaurant and saw desserts and foods all over the place I started to get excited.

Our party was in a more private room toward the back of the restaurant. It was a little small, but it fit everyone just fine. Our waitress promptly offered drinks and once the happy couple were toasted-to, we got to eat some yummy food.

Basically they lay out breakfast foods (eggs - scrambled and benedict, sausage, bacon, waffles, potato hash, lox and bagels, etc.) as well as lunch foods (tortelini, pierogies, prime rib, salad, mussels, etc.) and dessert (carrot cake, chocolate cake, lemon bars, chocolate fondue with fruit...) and you get to chow down on whatever you want.

I ended up eating the following things: sausage, bacon, a waffle with strawberry topping, pierogies, carrot cake, and chocolate chip cookies. I know it's a strange combination, but I was in a strange mood - pretty much that of a fourth grader.

My general impression of this place is such: this is a good place to take a lot of people who have a lot of different tastes. There certainly is no shortage of options, and none of the food I had was bad. I'm not saying it was the most amazing stuff I ever ate (the pierogies were a little tough, the alcoholic beverages were a little light on the alcohol), but given the fact that they mass produce food to feed hoards of people, it certainly could have been a lot worse than it was. Their execution is pretty good!!

This place is terrible.    Crab cake was barely warm and full of filler.   Kids meal was adequately priced but nuggets looked a little burnt.   I will not come back!

Came here on Friday night with my sister and her boyfriend. Large space. Good, friendly service. Dinner menu was extensive but options I tried were just okay. The chicken pot pie was just okay, the fries were just okay. Another review said the complimentary bread is great but we weren't offered any...

Good option for HH drinks and convenient location -- for these reasons, I'd come back.

Pretty good lunch spot. Had a biz lunch here recently - got the Nicoise Salad. Decent. The grilled cheese looked awesome, as did the BLT.  The french onion soup looked delicious; I definitely got the wrong thing..the ahi tuna was overcooked, but the vinaigrette was good.  The service was slow..but the place was also packed which is always a good sign.  A bit pricey, but good portion sizes.

A pleasant surprise in Wayne, PA.  I had the pleasure of being taken here for lunch today.  These folks are a very small chain with five locations in three states.  We arrived at 12:15 on a Monday and the place was jumping.  It was surprisingly busy for a Monday lunch.   I was encouraged.

Despite the crowds we were seated immediately and our waitress quickly brought our menus and our drink order.  There is nothing I hate more than waiting too long for something to drink while I'm perusing the menu.  No problem here.

So I examined their extensive typical American menu.  There were no surprises but it was clear that just about anyone would see something that peaks their interest.  I chose the Blackened Steak Salad (Char-grilled Cajun seasoned flat iron steak, fresh field greens, aged cheddar, vine ripe tomatoes, sweet onion, roasted red pepper, Cajun ranch and Idaho potato wedges) for $16.  Take a look at that last ingredient again.  In many restaurants a premium salad would include some kind of garlic toast, bread sticks etc.  Here I received four large crispy piping hot potato wedges artfully arranged around the edge of my salad.  The portion of steak was nice and between the Cajun seasoning on the meat and in the dressing this salad had some zing!  This was a really solid three star salad.  I wish I could go 3.5.  It was that good.

I'm very stingy with my fourth and fifth stars.  As the menu was predominantly standard items I'm going to go with three stars and compliment them on a job well done.

The fact that this place only has 15 reviews is beyond me. This place is awesome! I go here with a coworker at least once a week and sometimes more. Their Cajun Mac n Cheese is the best Mac n Cheese I've had in my life. I've also had the Grilled Chicken Penne with the spicy marinara (really awesome flavor!) and the burger. For appetizers, we always get the Dynamite Sticks. This place is great and the food is delicious and not pricey. You have to go!!

good old winberies. the epitome of valley forge/wayne. trying to be upscale, but just slightly behind even the conshohocken curve. food is ok. selection is wide. prices are high. best enjoyed on an expense account, and even then, I'd go other places aside from here if I had to post up in the embassy at chesterbrook for an extended period (akin to a stint in solitary at rikers).

This is one of those places that is best if you're with a fickle crowd who doesn't know what they want to eat because they have an extensive and varied menu and everything is pretty good: good apps, salads, pastas, burgers, desserts, wines, etc. The service is always responsive and friendly and the decor is spare but clean and it's a pretty big space. There's no real "wow!" factor to set this place apart, but I do always enjoy a meal here with my parents when I come to town.

I've been living down the street from Winberie's for two years now and just gave it a try recently. I suppose it reminded me of a nicer version of Applebees. It's a very small chain...this is the only location in PA and there are locations in NJ and Illinois as well.

Pretty standard menu--burgers, steaks, pasta, salads, etc., but I got excited when I saw they had a Sam Adams Cheddar and Beer Fondue as an appetizer, so my friends and I ordered that immediately and did not disappoint. I also got a veggie burger. Winberie's makes their veggie burgers with black beans, so while it was a little mushy, I did like that you could tell what veggies were in the burger. Some of the soy veggie burgers are a mystery to me, so that was a plus. I'll be adding it to the list of places to take my parents when they come over and want to go out and eat.

Unlike how it looked from outside, Winberie's is surprisingly spacious inside.

The menu offers pretty much everything from burger to pasta and steak. I tried 'baked shrimp and spinach pasta with mozzarella on top'. I forgot exact name of the dish but it was made of fresh tomato and spinach.

Artichoke dip comes with home-made pita chips. I loved this appetizer. Big portion and flavorful artichoke dip (pretty heavy though.. cheesy and creamy..).

Best of all, Complimentary bread. Don't miss it. It's one of the best bread I've had.

PS: Happy hour From 4-7pm, all appetizers are $2 off.

I feel I got lucky with Winberies... my expectation was a bit low since I walked in and was reminded of an older, drearier version of Denny's with a smaller/ nicer menu.

However, I took a chance and had the salmon salad, and I was very pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it was (me, not a fan of salad, but I thoroughly enjoyed it).

And I don't know where they got their butter from, but it tasted exactly like the organic, creamy european butter of my childhood... the stuff I ate up by the stick!

Winberies is not gonna win any culinary awards (except for the butter) but definitely worth more visits. Thumbs up.

Great wine list but small menu. I'm not a picky eater but I hate mushrooms and they didn't have much to choose from without them. Overall wasn't bad didn't thrill me and the very small menu put me off

Winberie's is an upscale restaurant serving well-prepared traditional American cuisine, with prices to match (though not out of line with the offering).  Decor and service are likewise above average.  This restaurant is nice for special occasions or a romantic meal.  The brunch buffet has very good selection, though it seemed a little light on the greens.

I went here and was very impressed with the decor as it is very nice inside.   I have to say that this place is very nicely built and a great place to meet for happy hour after work (although the bar is small) and get a quick bite to eat.

With that being said the food is just eh.

I went with a group of people who were out of town and we went here on a friday evening.   The place was pretty crowded but we had no problem getting a table or sitting down.

We started with the dynamite sticks where were a kind of really long egg roll which was impressively good.   We also ordered the artichoke dip which again was a nice sized portion.   Then we moved on to dinner and then the stars started falling off the review.

I ordered shrimp scampi and i received a whopping 3 shrimp none of which were bigger then my pinky finger.   And I also didn't like the taste of it as i felt it was completely bland which to me is quite difficult for a shrimp scampi.   Others at the table ordered dishes that looked ok but lacked taste.

I would recommend the place for after work pickings and for after work fun but i would steer clear of the regular bland, small portion expensive menu.   In this area you can do much better.

I go to Winberie's for business lunches, and that's about it.  Their menu is decent and has a fairly good selection.  They have some interesting salads, and I've enjoyed their salmon dish as well.  If you like cheese, I would definitely recommend the cheese fondue that comes with fresh slices of Granny Smith apple and wedges of French bread.

Not a hopping place to go for dinner or drinks.  They do have a happy hour, but they have such limited seating in the bar that I've never been able to get a seat.  You can't get the happy hour specials at a table.

They lose stars with me because of the service.  The waiters are always friendly, but I've never had a "perfect" meal.  Something is always forgotten or comes out too late.

The location is a little awkward, too.  It's right on the off-ramp of 202 and if you're coming from any direction but one you need to make a u-turn to get into the place (which judging by the "no u-turns" sign on the median you're prrrrrobably not supposed to do).

I've been to Winberie's a couple of times and have had a great experience each time. For lunch or dinner, they have you covered with a good menu and great bar. Well priced and nice ambiance, Winberie's is a great place to have a quick bite or a fun dinner with family and friends.

To be fair I haven't been in a while. When it first opened many years back it was nice. But there were far fewer places to dine in the area. I have been over the years for brunch, lunch and dinner since then and I'd say it is over-priced for what they serve. They aspire to fine dining and the prices reflect that (esp. at dinner). Unfortunately the food and service doesn't warrant the prices.

Generally, Cafe Winberie is a so-so place to eat. However, the thing that really surprised me was that they have valet parking during their LUNCH HOURS!

This should immediately tell you 2 very important things:  1. It is overpriced. 2. It is severely crowded during the hours of 11am and 1pm.

It is very loud during the lunch hours and service is really slow typically. Our waiter was very busy doing many things except waiting on us and wasn't a very pleasant chap. Now, you know by my past reviews that I am a stickler for good service. As long as the service is good, I would basically eat crap if it was served to me (well you know what I mean). He never smiled or displayed any manners  and was busy running around.

The food was overpriced for the unimpressive flavor, preparation, and quality.

I wouldn't suggest you bother, unless you are only going to hang out at their bar to have a liquid lunch.

I enjoy Winberie's. I've lunched here three times: once with one other, another time with a group of ten, and last with 30-40 people. Weekdays, you'll see lots of worker folks flocking here. Yes, there's valet parking, but the lot's large enough for you to park before an attendant notices. Their interior is pleasant, with brick walls, wooden furniture, and clean tiles. If you're not into the fancy decor, there's a patio for outdoor dining. Service (Kristina, and others) has always been good for me.

Their kitchen churns out good stuff. If you get the penne aglio olio ($8.50, and delicious by the way), don't add shrimp ($5 more), as it doesn't add much, especially for the price. Why ruin a good thing? It's cooked with SPINACH sauteed with GARLIC butter for crying out loud! (The glass of white didn't hurt either.) Their appetizers aren't too impressive (again, considering price): their bruschetta ($5.95) isn't bad and pita chips with artichoke dip ($7.95)? Meh. The London broil ($13.95; nothing I usually get), a grilled, marinated steak, sliced and served au jus with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables, is as tasty as it sounds! I like their Portobello sandwich (served with vegetarian chili) even more - now that's a compelling argument to go vegetarian. Now only if their prices were lower...

I'm no dessert guru, but their apple pie rocks - yours would too if you served it warm with vanilla ice cream - and is a sweet end to any meal.

I am giving this place na extra star because I got to sit outside, and their patio was kinda nice (although it overlooked the Valet guys running around the quickly filling parking lot).

I am surprised that this place isn't in here and reviewed.  It's not half bad.  Standard menu of sandwiches, salads, a few entrees - nothing earth shattering - but the food was tasty, the portion size was very American, and the price wasn't bad (2 for lunch, with drinks $30)

Again - if I sat inside, this would be middle of the road 3 star- but we got a nice table in the outside seating area, it was a great day, and this pale boy hasn't seen the sun in seemingly forever, thanks to Boston - so one more for nature.
