I went there after looking at the YELP reviews and then going to thier web page. I was very attracted by the idea of enjoying wine, especially outdoors in a cafe setting, and even listening to soft music. My first visit was at 1 P.M. during the week after seeing that they opened at 12. When I got there, a note was on the door saying they would open at 3 P.M.  I went again, with a friend, on the weekend, but it was during Long Grove's Strawberry Festival & there wasn't much they were allowed to do. The young man working there was very accomodating. I mentioned to the owner that I came before & was disaapointed to see they were closed. She didn't express regret, say she was sorry, offer me a glass of wine - basically, she just didn't care. But the place seemed nice - good wine, nice surroundings, fair prices. So I tried again, Saturday, for the music. We made the trip again. It was closed AGAIN. Most aggravating: the sign said back at 12:25 and t wasthere at  5:30 PM. I saw other people come & walk away. We went to a place across the street, enjoyed a sandwhich and a great band, and saw through the window that WineSplash had not opened yet and we were there an hour. I left a message on the business phone - never heard back from them. I dont understand what's going on there and it doesn't make sense that no one is allowed t open the store whenever the owner decides she doesn't want to work that day. But the message she is sending is "don't bother me.".
If you feel like driving around a lot and wasting your time & gas, this is the place. A shame, because it could have been a great place. Hopefully, someone else will buy it that wants to make a go of it.

It took almost a year for me to discover WineSplash but I've been back several times already and had a great time each visit! The wine selections are very eclectic and well represented, and most bottles are very reasonably priced.  Appetizers are more than filling for 2.  I've had both the Olive tapenade plate and the cheese and fruit tray and they've paired very well with the wines I've had.  The patio setting is great, and the live entertainment brings people from around the area to sit, relax, listen to music and enjoy a bit of escape for an afternoon or evening.  For the price of a bottle of wine and appetizers, you've got a great alternative to the Ravinia experience.  Definitely a fun place to visit!!

Surprised in fuddy duddy Long Grove.  Super cute, proprietors friendly and excited about their new venture.  Prices reasonable, great pours and yummy bites.  Highly recommended.  Need more fun places in LG!

Very disappointing!  I had been looking forward to visiting this place as it's local and I heard great things. After our visit, like many businesses in Long Grove, I gather that Wine Splash is experiencing problems. No sushi as promised in the menu. No wine flights like my friend had enjoyed on a previous visit.

There was a $10 bottle charge if you purchase a bottle from their "store."  The service was inattentive -- with our $10 glass of wine -- we had to continually ask for more water which were served in tacky plastic cups.  Flatbread pizza was overpriced and lukewarm.

The place is super cute -- well appointed.  Will I be back? Maybe in the summertime when we can sit outside and enjoy our $10 glass of wine.  Don't go there with an appetite!  Such potential.

Great addition to Long Grove being a local.  Especially enjoyable when the weather is nice and they have live music on Saturday afternoons.  We bring our 3 year old and stay for hours.

Fantastic new venue in Long Grove. Great staff, wonderful wine selection and great setting. Nice benefits to their wine club - be sure to ask about it. Highly recommend the flat bread pizza.

Wine splash is an amazing new and much needed addition to the downtown Long Grove area! The owners Shelley and Jennifer are super welcoming and extremely knowledgeable in all of the wines they carry, which change regularly to keep it fresh and exciting! Kathy, the manager is also an fantastic part of this business being extremely friendly and versed in all the wines as well! Now with the entertainment, the specialty nights like sushi and meatball night, and the gorgeous spacious lawn and patio area make this place a new permanent resident to the area! Love it there, and will continue to visit as frequently as possible!!!!!!!!!

Just what Long Grove needed!   Yea!    First visit - had a very enjoyable time!    Wine selection great, service and staff very accommodating and friendly.    Will definitely come back.    Two suggestions however:     During summer season, please spray for mosquitos before opening - we were eaten up alive.     Also, don't allow patrons to smoke in patio area.  Law requires 25 feet from building.    Sipping wine, enjoying late summer garden smells and a beautiful sky - then some clown lights up a cigarette and ruins it all.   We had to pick up and move away.    Just some suggestions.   Best of luck.   You deserve it!

I recently started getting into wine, so I have been going to different wine places to expand my palate through various tastings.  Wine Splash in Long Grove opened shortly after the Strawberry Festival.  I knew I had to check it out after the owners said hello during the fest and played with my friend's dog.  So when I returned to the Strawberry Fest the following day I went to their tent and had a glass of the Strawberry Wine.  It was a red based wine (I am usually a white wine girl) but I really enjoyed it.

I went back on a date last night and the parking lot was full.  I was excited to get the last spot.  Apparently on Thursdays, they do a craft beer tasting and a wine flight.  You can also order certain wines by the glass or half glass.

They have a beautiful outdoor patio area, but we took a seat inside because it was still pretty hot outside.  The interior is beautiful, you really have to explore the entire place!

I ordered a glass of the white sangria.  It was a pretty heavy pour garnished with fresh fruit.  It was super yummy.  I then had some of the chilled Moscato that they were offering by the glass.  It was so good that I got a bottle to go!

They offer some small bites here.  They brought us out chocolates, crackers and raw almonds to sample with our wines.  They were also offering a bacon platter to go with the beer tasting.

The staff were super friendly and talkative.  They seemed to make everyone feel right at home!  I think I may become a regular here!  I just wish they were open later, but I guess they are trying to work that out with the Village of Long Grove!
