From the parking lot I thought this was the place to hang as it was full but on the inside it was a dump and empty!
Plus the added attraction of the dudes hanging out who looked like they fell off a garbage truck made this place a one and done stop.
The bartender was a joke. I really did not need to over hear her personal issues let alone put up with her attitude.

This place is huge. The beer is cheap and there is a TV on to show whatever game you want to watch. I went here one night because a friend of mine was here drinking and I wasn't quite done yet for the evening. Quite honestly, I was a bit intoxicated and don't remember too much of the details of that night but I do remember that the servers were friendly, the beer was cold, and the conversation was good. There were also plenty of beautiful women. I'll go back again when I'm in that area.

Decided to stop into this bar after we realized we were not ready to call it a night. Decent spot. Several pool tables, a couple of arcade games, plenty of screens to watch, kitchen available, variety of patrons .... oh, if you buy two drinks between 10p-12a on the weekend, they will serve you free breakfast that consist of eggs, toast, hashbrown, and some kind of breakfast meat (can't remember what kind).

I wasn't too thrilled about the music. It wasn't varied enough for me. It was a lot of old stuff from various genres. If they showed the UFC fights, I would consider frequenting this establishment but Kyle- the bartender- told me they only show them occasionally.

I will probably make another appearance in a month or so on a different night just to get a better feel for the place.

I've only been twice, but considering the area is S.T.A.R.V.E.D for decent bars (and I'm including Aurora), I'm almost freaking out to find a place I don't want to walk out of the instant I enter.

Huge. Big space. Essential in keeping undesirables out of my personal space.

The drinks are a tad weak, but ya can't have everything.

I'll be heading back until I find the ONE other decent bar in a ten-mile radius, or they do something ridiculous to drive me off.

I've been a customer for about 15 years or so. I went there when it was Jackson's, and then The Old Hole, then the Hole, and now WT Shorty's. No matter what it's called, it's always the same. I don't go often, but when I do, I see the same people. It's a nice, homey feeling. Kind of like Cheers, with its own set of characters. It's an across-town drive, so why do I keep going back?  The wait staff is friendly, the drinks are cold, the prices are reasonable. It's a really friendly place, everyone is welcome, and everyone is treated the same. It's comfortable like an old easy chair. It's just a cool place to hang out, relax, and have some laughs where everyone is your friend.

I liked this place as The Hole, and now I like this place as WT Shorty's.  The bar has 5 different seating area's all of which are gigantic making it feels as though you can shoot a cannon through it at anytime despite them being moderately busy.  The patio is by far the best that I have been to in the area and recommend anyone that likes to smoke and play darts to hit them up.

The ample amount of TV's accomodate any sporting event that you may want to watch.  The food is the typical bar fair that does the trick, the drinks specials all have been decent, and the clientel/bar staff have all been a good time.  I say take a load off and see what Shorty's has to offer.  Now that I hear Karaoke is on Wednesday's you will definitely see me then!

This place is great.  Every night they have awesome drink specials paired with an event.  Big fan of Wednesday karaoke, $2 shots and $3.50 Svedka.

Super spacious, clean and good clientele.  Tons of TVs!

    Definitely worth stopping in.

    Wednesday night karaoke!  Fried pickles!

Formerly known as the Old Hole (*giggle*), this spacious bar is located in a crappy little strip mall located off of Leetsdale Ave.  It offers lot parking and a covered smoking patio.  The drinks are cheap, but they'll charge you for soda even if you're drinking booze which is a rip-off in my book.  Sure, if I'm a non-drinker and I want a soda, then charge me $2.  However, if I'm getting boozed up then that shit should be on the house.  Wallet rapists!  Anyway...I suggest you try the fried pickles here.  They are delicious dipped in ranch.  Kind of on the salty side, but delish nonetheless.

As for the karaoke, it's decent.  The set-up needs some improvement (like a floor monitor) and the sound is weird because of the speaker placement, but it wasn't horrible.  The song selection was decent and they seemed up-to-date on today's hottest hits for you to butcher.  If you decide that someone really can't sing or you can't stand to hear Bobby McGee or Black Velvet for the 900th time, the fried pickles also double as ear plugs.

Shorty's is a pretty mediocre but spacious sports bar... and I do mean spacious.  This is one of the biggest bar's I've ever been in.  There are SO many places to sit, and it's rarely ever busy... so at the very least it's a good gathering place for you and your closest 20 friends for a night of drinking and greasy bar food.

Speaking of the food... the menu is small and not overly special.  They have burgers and fried food mostly, and are definitely not very vegetarian friendly.  The chili cheese fries are ok, but even the "hot" is disappointingly mild.  The food is 2 stars at best... it'll do in a pinch, but you could make better at home with little effort.

The alcohol selection is typical, though the beer specials are almost all involving bud, bud light, and other crappy cheap American "beer".  They do have a few good local beers, but they are a little pricey.  The couple of mixed drinks I've had have been on the weak side.

On the upside, there are a lot of TVs... so it's a good place to catch a game.  The service is also not bad, though if you don't sit near the bar you may be forgotten for a while.

Overall, if this place weren't close I doubt I'd ever go to it.  Other than being crazy big, it doesn't stand out in a city with more sports bars than can be counted.

I popped in here on a random Thursday night to play poker, and must admit that I didn't end up staying long, thanks to some greasy looking guy with pocket Ace's who squashed my hooks.  Bastard.  I digress.

The place reminds me of a college town bar - but not an Ivy League college - more of a po-dunk shitty college town bar.  For clarity, there's nothing wrong with that...

The place is fairly vast, with a large patio area for the smokers.  There are a variety of things to do other than punishing your liver - a couple of pool tables, foosball, Golden Tee, etc...

The large horseshoe shaped bar provides ample access to beverages, and there is no shortage of space to sit, stand, fall over, etc.  The staff was very friendly (at least the one that I was ordering from, Kim).

All together, it was a pretty pleasant experience.  I will definitely try them again and strongly consider a 4th star bump.  What they do need is a good pint special for the poker players.
