LOVE this place. Â They have the best pita bread. Ever. Â It comes out hot and fresh, and goes perfectly with the fresh hummus, which comes in a pretty bowl with olive oil, paprika, chickpeas, and herbs. Â You also get what I think is pickled turnip slices to go with it and it's oh so good. Â They have a buffet Friday and Saturday nights that is really popular and has lots of different items. Â But you also can't go wrong with the Gyros Platter, turkish coffee, or hot tea. Â Definitely try ZamZam; it's a fun environment with good food, and a great patio in the summers.
Review Source:Very traditional and good food. Hookah is Al-Fakher and Starbuzz, and they know what they Are doing. Customer service could be better though, as well as taking Starbuzz off the menu. Great for those that like a traditional hookah smoking experience! Food is also very good and premium!
Review Source:Zamzam offers delicious and fresh mediterranean food on a consistent basis. I've eaten here about 7 times over the past few years and every time it's been delicious. This place is always a sure bet for a delicious flafel sandwich, gyros, or just some plain pita and hummus. Their pita is fresh baked and usually comes to your table piping hot from the oven!
The service has always been top notch and very friendly. They have hookah service as well, though I've never had the chance to use it.
This is one of my favorite OKC restaurants! I'd make this a regular stop if I lived closer.
I had seen this place off the road going down McArthur and decided to check it out, I've been to many Mediterranean restaurants in the area and have my main ones I go to... but I wanted to give this one a shot and see what it was like. The building looks like it might have been a old Taco Bell restaurant at one point and I am certain if it's not a Taco Bell building it definently was some other fast food building.
Inside I thought it was interesting the lay out of it, the place is labeled a grill and hookah lounge area, so what they did was split the area, 1 side for smoking and 1 side for eating, I chose not to try the hookah this time but I was impressed with the selection of hookah's as well as the flavoring they had (it was ample), also... I went on a cold day... one thing I did notice since the building was so small when someone opened the door you immediately felt the cold air, I also was under the impression that the smoking area was going to feel cold as it looks like it was on the outer part of the restaurant but it is covered area, but I felt the heat coming from heater they had in the area and although I didn't go in it felt very warm in there!
I ordered the huftka kabob, which is basically just beef kabobs, you got your choice of sides to come with your meal...so I chose hummus and rice, the meal came with pita bread to use with the hummus...although I wish i had a little more because there was a little more hummus than there was bread, the rice was okay, had some kind of green flavoring to it which was nice... the meat was pretty good... definently better than some other Mediterranean places i've been to but honestly not as good as some other places i've been to as well, so it's in the middle. Somethings that could have improved the experience from the dinning side of things would have been a slice of tomatoe to mix with the rice...as well as saffron to season it with
Overall... was a nice small-quiet place to eat at, also they have a nice little water fountain outside, so definently this place I will go back to when the weather warms up and have some food and smoke out!
I really enjoyed this place compared to other shisha/hookah places in the area. The food isn't particularly authentic but IS delicious. The pipe was well made and the wait staff was a little on the (surprisingly) young side but friendly. My complaint would be the acoustics of the smoking area, which was a little louder than I'd prefer once the place filled up. Definitely a great choice, however, and could accommodate a small group easily.
Review Source:The food here is pretty good. They have felafel, gyros, hummus, etc. The place has hookahs on the patio so it attracts hipsters. Its like a giant magnet is pulling them in by their nose piercings.
The atmosphere is decent, the music is decent, not too loud. The TV faces the hookah area so the diners can't see it, just the hipsters.
Hookah for you, Hookah for me, Quick Light Coals for seriously?
Yea... I mean please can hookah bars figure out that you pretty much take what could be good shisha and ruin it with that chemical laden crap which makes everything taste like you just got it out of a chinese sweat shop.
Yes, your in Oklahoma City, I get that, so you are not exactly playing up to the hookah highest common denominator, which is fine, you play to your crowd, but, with bowls the size of thimbles and service that was bordering on the anti-good, you totally have to double think what you are doing at this place.
Now, the reason for these three stars which I am awarding this place against my better judgement really comes down to the fact of location.
However, dude, seriously who closes at 10 pm. Â That is total weak sauce. Â If it wasn't for the on par food, I really think this would be bordering on 2 stars.
meh.
My husband and I have been to Zam Zam twice. The first time, we sat outside, and I remember eating one of the best meals ever. It was a couple of years ago, so I don't remember exactly what we got. I remember the tabouleh was really amazing. Everything we got that time was really good and we sat there raving about how delicious everything was.
The second time (a couple of weeks ago), we just made a quick stop to pick up a thing of yogurt. My husband's family is Lebanese, and my mother in law had made grape leave rolls for us, but we wanted some yogurt to go with them. When we got there, we saw that they'd done a lot of renovations to the place and the inside seating was expanded. Decor was really pretty, too. Â We debated just staying and eating there, but decided to get a few side items to take home.
Tabouleh, babaganouj, yogurt. Everything tastes so authentic (going off of what my in-laws make), and amazing. If you like Mediterranean food at all, you should try Zam Zam.
You also can't go wrong with a place if you see a lot of "Natives" eating there. e.g. If you see a lot of Koreans eating at a Korean place, you know it's going to be good and authentic. That's how Zam Zam is.
The people working there are really nice, too. Â We were walking out with our bag of food and the little paper bag of breads fell out and spilled all over the floor. They cleaned it up and were really nice about it, too. Then, one of the older guys told us to wait, went to the back, and came back a few minutes later with freshly made flat bread. Awesome!
