My husband and I visited 621 this past week after reading some good reviews on Yelp. We chose it due to the proximity of the bowling alley, which is right next door.
When you walk in it seems like a bit of a rundown dive/sports bar. Not disgusting or unclean, but not really modern. The staff was very friendly and quick to take our drink orders.
I had the BBQ turkey tips which were delicious. I got a small salad on the side and their vinaigrette dressing was really yummy. My husband ordered the French Dip. We're both pretty picky about this dish, and he loved it. I took a taste and agreed it was really good. It does have a certain spice in it -- not sure what -- that some may not like, but I thought it really added to the dish.
The food was pretty cheap and overall we had a nice meal. Would recommend to people looking to try out some local fare for a good price.
621 Tavern & Grill had really great food, which I guess is what ultimately counts when grabbing a bite to eat. However, it took a good 15 minutes for anyone to greet us. We were told to sit anywhere, but then no one came to the table. We then went to the bar and were ignored by three bartenders all standing around not doing much of anything. When finally greeted, our one bartender was awfully miserable and hardly said hello. As a result, the bad service ruined what could have been a great experience since the food was, indeed, very good. The portion sizes were great for the price.
Review Source:Service: Wait staff was friendly, but our waitress put her hand on the rim of my friend's beer glass to make space for the pizza...twice. She also asked multiple times if my friend wanted to take her meatball and pasta to go because she barely ate anything...that's because she didn't like the meatballs.
Food: The 621 Pizza was delicious, but my chicken piccata was a bit salty and the pasta and chicken came soaking in the sauce. I asked to have the sauce drained before I took it to go.
Price: The quality of the food is not worth the price, but they provide large portions...which is a plus assuming you liked your food.
Food was good, wished they delivered... Had to go pick it up & was told about 20 minutes, so I get there & they clearly UNDERSTATED the time, I had to wait in the waiting room which was a bar, where I felt compleltely like the Fat kid who doesnt get picked for Dodge ball in Elementary School...
There were about 150 people in there & they ALL KNEW EACH OTHER... I mean it, and the more people who came in, all new each other, it was like Cheers & I was the farthest thing from "Norm"!!!
The food was phenomenal though, good portions.. Great prices! Will be back when in the area & dont mind having to wait to pick it up!
Don't order the Fra Diavolo pizza. It's described as sausage & cherry peppers. Having earlier seen an order of 1/2 rack of ribs come up with 2 full cherry peppers as garnish, I was confident of 2 things: 1) if I order that same half rack, I'll also get 2 full cherry peppers [Nope. But no worries. Ribs were good], and 2) if I order the Fra Diavolo pizza I'll get real cherry peppers on it. Â Nope.
Not even close.
Instead the pizza was covered... saturated... with a red pepper jelly that turned the crust into mush. Granted I ordered the pizza to go and didn't open it until 30 minutes after it was made but it was so saturated with this  relish that the cheese & dough underneath weren't cooked. And frankly it looked gross.
Once home, I scraped off the toppings, sprinkled on some parmesan I had laying around and put it under the broiler for 10 minutes. I could tell the crust was really good though. I'd confidently order a plain cheese pizza next time.
I was brokenhearted. I had a good time there. Really nice people working & the ribs were very good. I just don't understand what happened with the pizza.
I'll revisit because of the people and the meat. I won't order a pizza.
Can I just pop in for a second and mention that their steak tip salad rocks the universe? Â Like, don't bother with salad dressing. Â The marinade that they use on the tips is PLENTY to flavor the salad, and holy mother of pearl, the tips are soft and tender and delicious.
Prices are amazing for the quality of bar food you get here.
This was a great find! Â The menu selection is very extensive and their pizza is very good, more of a NY style. The staff is attentive to your needs even when busy. Â Every meal I have had there has been excellent. A good place to kick back, enjoy the Sox on a projection screen TV and numerous other TVs. Â It can get loud on a Friday night, but all part of the scene.
Review Source:We come here for the food. Â Consistently really good food at a very fair price. Â I recommend the steak tips. Â The lobster rolls are great and I like to start with a pile of steamers when they're available. Â Often I'll try something on the list of specials or just order a pizza to split. Â Our last pizza was something with prosciutto and hot peppers for ~$14 for a large that we couldn't finish.
We come here for sports. Â TV's everywhere. Â I remember last year sitting at a table near the projector as the sox, celts, and bruins were all on live. Â Pretty impressive collection of memorabilia all over the walls, I seem to pick out something new every time I really look around. Â
We come here for the bar. Â The island bar is huge and gets really crowded. Â Most people seem to know each other but it doesn't have an unfriendly towny vibe at all. Â
We come here for the atmosphere. Â As I just mentioned, it feels like everyone knows each other. Â We know most of the staff and they're genuinely friendly. Â
This place is in a strip mall on rte.99 and you would most likely drive by it if you've never been here. Â It looks very unspectacular from the outside but it's definitely worth a try.
The two times I've been here the food, service, and portion sizes were terrific. Â It may not look like much from the road (it's in a strip mall next to a liquor store), but don't let that dissuade you- inside it's comfortable and friendly.
The first time I went was lunch- the cheeseburger club sandwich was great, and my dining partner had a wonderful meal as well.
We were back again later for dinner, and my Shrimp with Tortellini & Broccoli was great. Â However, I was envious of my dining partner's seafood platter, which was baked haddock, shrimp, and scallops dusted with breadcrumbs.
We'll be back soon...
Their food is great, Try the TURKEY TIPS, they melt in your mouth! The best I have ever had. Â
Growing up as an Italian in the Boston area, I know pizza. Their pizza is very, very, very  good!  Thin crust; New York style.
I would give their Italian food a try, it's not bad either.
They also have this GIGANTIC beer picher for $18. It is awesome when you go there with a few guys to watch a ball game. Trust me, one is good enough for four guys.
In conclusion, this place is a cool place to go with anyone. Â Even the locals frequently dine here. Bring your friends and family to enjoy this inexpensive, "come as you are" Â Tavern & Sports Grille.
621 is a great place to go if you're looking for good American or Italian-American food. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I can't speak highly enough about the food or the staff. My favorites here are the pastas and the calzones. Yes, all of them.
If you like loud sports bars with booze and big TVs (at least one TV in every corner of the building, with a huge projection screen on one of the walls), don't miss out on this place. If this sort of atmosphere isn't really your thing, then still come here at least to try the food, even if your order is to-go.
Fun place to watch the Sox game, if some old couple doesn't whine at the bartender to "turn down the racket" and ruin the atmosphere. Â Food is pretty much just greasy bar food. I've found the appetizers, pizza and fried food to be really good. Â My boyfriend, the more adventurous one, had tried some of the actual dishes and been very disappointed. Â The service is usually A+. Â I've only had one bad experience and even that wasn't bad at all. Â I'd recommend this place highly if you're in the mood for a pizza and beer, not so much if you're looking for a "real" meal.
Review Source:This a a Family run business, Â The D'Vincentis family have been in the Catering /Restaurant Business for years.
This is a Sports bar with a family orientated atmosphere.
They have Keno and also offer a variety of Seafood, Italian and BBQ. Dinners..  Luncheon Specials  and the best Bartenders  and waitresses,  I've ever met.
The will also cater your next Clamback & BBQ,  Menu  ranges from $38.00 p.p. to $10.00p.p.
It's just a great place to go. Â Â Trust me.
