Review Source:I've been here 3 times for a quick lunch, and will go again. Â
It's rare to find 4 types of fish that aren't fried at a place like this, so I really appreciated that. Â They are: baked salmon, baked flounder, pollock (imitation crabmeat), and the several raw varieties at the sushi bar.
Okay so that's not only 4 types then...get over it...how about 4 different areas that have un-fried fish? Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Did that satisfy your OCD???
This was absolutely horrible. Â The food is cold and old and small selection; it was clearly sitting out all day. Â Even if the food was fresh, most things use butter for the main flavoring. Â It is clear that there is not anyone caring about food quality. Â The sushi looked brown, mac and cheese was watery, noodles cold, nothing was properly labeled, so you had to guess what you were eating and they did not even take the time to properly clean strawberries. Â I am not being picky, but even if you can't cook, not taking the stem out of the strawberries is just lazy and showing a lack of respect of your patrons. Â You should at least get what you pay for, here you don't even get that. Â For twenty dollars we could have gotten a couple sandwiches someplace and been much more satisfied with money to spare. Â I hope others learn from our mistake.
Review Source:I've had better. Simply having good service and nice decor don't really make the cut.
I don't think the food was good at all. I tried the buffalo chicken and it only tasted like bbq chicken. The egg drop soup tasted like thickened soup with egg (plenty of sulfur taste). The roasted chicken was dried. The mashed potato was plain terrible. I don't know how they can mess up the basics. One thing that shocked me was the five spiced beef.... I can't describe the taste because it was nothing different than adding sugar to oyster sauce. The five spice is barely carried out. Quite a disappointment here.
The fried chicken was good (when fresh). What really lacked here was taste. There is a variety of food to choose from. They had a pretty decent sushi bar and grill. (My "steak" were all charred and can't be eaten. The meat were all tough after the grill.
I only came here because my date like this place for the price and choices...
I believe the highlights are the view/ decorations, the price (but not the quality of food), and service.
I'm writing this review after just walking inside my home after spending approximately 15 minutes at this place. What led me to this place was a coupon I printed off the http://Valpak.com site to get a $5.99 lunch buffet. When I went to the counter and asked the clerk if they are still accepting this coupon, she told me yes, but I had to pay $7.99 for the regular buffet to get the $5.99 buffet. As soon as she explained this to me, I looked down and on the counter, I saw a sheet explaining buffet pricing. From Monday-Friday, during lunch, get a buffet to go for just $2.99 a pound, and dinner buffet Monday-Saturday for only $3.99 a pound! I've never heard of anything like this before!
So I decided to get the lunch buffet to go, going around the aisles of the eatery in search of delicious things to fill my to-go container, and delicious things I would find. Stuffed mushrooms, baked flounder, BBQ pork skewers, authentic crabmeat pieces, sushi-cream cheese and California rolls and raw fish sushi-slab of raw fish over solid rice ball, cheese pizza, brownies, cupcakes, macaroni and cheese, slices of oranges, cantaloupes, melons, and a host of other delicious goodies and munchies! Total cost for the things I listed (I got every single one that I mentioned except for orange and melon slices and the raw fish sushi) was only $6.31! Yes, that's right, $6.31! Damn good deal! Oh my gosh, I have got to come back to this place, probably within the next 2.5 weeks or so, but with my severe time restrictions, there's no guarantee that I will. Nevertheless, it is worth the money. Very inexpensive, and the customer service is great! NOTICE: If you want to pay using either debit or credit, what I used today, you have to purchase a minimum of $5 in food.
Something else that makes me give this place five stars is that, in between the register and the dining area, there's a mini pond, filled with beautiful orange fish, live of course. I saw a bunch of small ones, but I also saw like, about three big ones. What a beautiful sight that was.
This may have been the last time I go.
The quality of the food has gone down. Rice, chicken, crab rangoon had no flavor. The temperature of the food in the egg roll section was not hot. Â This place is just going down. Sad the the owners invested so much money for hoodlums to graffiti and steal soap dispensers. I may go one more time, but will stick to regular Chinese restuarants.
Sunday, July 3 - A friend of mine and I, decided to go here at the last minute around 5:30pm, he was from New York just wanted to go to a buffet restaurant. Â I pulled this one up on Yelp. Â Have to say, it actually pretty good. Â There isn't really any bad things to say. Â Their staff sure do love to clean, every where I looked someone had a rag and cleaning the tables and chairs.
Food was good, they had sushi there also for $10.95 per adult. Â Not to bad at all.
Better than the average AYCE Chinese buffet. Â In the first place, the restaurant doesn't look like it used to be something else and was abandoned before being turned into this restaurant. Â Entrance and seating areas are attractive and comfortable. Â For the most part, the food is fresh and hot, though there were a few things below the temperature I would prefer. Â Very tasty egg rolls. Â Breading on the deep friend chicken dishes (such as Orange Chicken) was fairly light, which I consider a good thing. Â Oysters on the half shell and peel-and-eat shrimp are unusual at this price. Â At lunch time on a Friday, I did not experience the crowding or problems with rowdy kids that others referred to.
Review Source:I had a lunch buffet last week. I like this place when they gave coupons to local residents those days. And I think they have a better quality of food, attitude and service at that time.
In terms of food, it is very average. Now, lots of buffets have sushi, so that is not a plus. very small shrimp and only one kind. the quality of food is mediocre. Some are spicy, so I can not tell they are fresh. I would not call it all style, it is americanized chinese food and sushi buffet.
They still have a fairly big customers for lunch due to their less than 10 bucks menu after tax.
In the beginning the place was awesome, clean and very economical.
I have to say a year into the place and I am no longer impressed. It seems that the establishment lets the Bay Bay kids under 5 serve themselves, and I find that not too good for sanitary reasons. Especially when kids touch food and put it back barehanded.
I use to like the way this place has room to breathe, but now, its got that "crowded and cheap" feel. Although okay for me, I don't go out of my way to go here, although I pass it almost every day. I'd rather go further for a buffet. But its just OK.
