Amadeus Manor

"You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, the Twilight Zone!" - no wait- It's Amadeus Manor! Someone else here called it The Winchester Mystery House w/ food- YES! I mean, NO! As our party of 4 entered on Saturday night (reservations for 7pm) we were greeted by this overly boisterous Austrian woman who has no regard for personal space- she was so up in our grills with her hellos we thought, well, we didn't know what to think. We were seated and : Let the wait begin! "Sorry, no bartender tonight," she told us, and proceeded to only take half our party's beverage order then left. 20 minutes later we get some bad drinks and bread- she finally takes the other two's beverage order. Wine. It doesn't come for a long, long time- over 40 minutes! The salads were nothing to speak about and the Mushroom soup was the only good tasting thing any of us had all night.
Stroganoff was with penne pasta (penne? in Stroganoff? What country are you from??) and the Cordon Blue was less than impressive. Don't bother asking for vegetarian options- NO! Our pastas they "created" for us were laced with fire hot pepper (what??) and burned my lips off! The veggies were soggy and the pasta not cooked right.
Ok so now we wait... and we wait... and we wait some more. It is now almost 10pm- we have been there three hours! There are only 5 tables seated with people in the whole place. The Austrian woman starts to tell us she is short staffed, has a new person and all is not going well. We had ordered coffee- FINALLY she brings it- WITH cream (my husband does not like that!) and shouts as she sets it down: "Coffee with fresh whipping cream, NO SUGAR!" Then she runs away! Wait! I NEED sugar for my coffee! But nope- she is gone, gone, gone. We wait more. So long that we get so bored that we break off into coupes and start to explore the other floors of the place- CREEPY! There were tables set all over- I'm talking like over 50 on each floor- all with sad looking 'fresh' flowers on the table, ice water decanters and the whole nine- and NO ONE IS COMING! It is like a scene from the Shining!
Also- the dishes were dirty, lipstick in the glasses (ew!) and the menus so filthy and sticky you could have stuck them all to the bottom of the table. Yuck! And while I was upstairs looking at the beautiful view (the ONLY thing worth going there for), I felt a presence... yes. I think that place is super haunted! Yes, the ghosts are still waiting to be served.
