Went here on a Saturday night for dinner with my husband. I'm preggers and was craving Italian seafood. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. So glad we did!
This place is seriously hidden between all the big name chain restaurants on Belt Line in Addison. But much like Aladdin, this is a diamond in the rough! It's small but it has a pretty large wine list and old school Italian ambiance. The service was superb. Very attentive.
The food is wonderful! We had mussels for our appetizer and the serving size was huge! More than enough for four people (although the two of us took down the whole thing...did I mention I'm pregnant?) Â my husband had the lobster bisque and it was thinner then he's used to, but very flavorful and he ate the whole thing. We both enjoyed our pasta dishes as well. Â The scallops and shrimp were enormous and oh sooo good! The sauces were absolutely divine.
We were too stuffed to try any desserts, but the happy noises coming for other tables would lead me to believe they are awesome as well.
Would definitely come back here again. Great place!
We waited over 15 mins to be greeted and the only reason we were was because I asked for a server. We made reservations but still didn't get in until about 20 mins after our reservation time. I was so excited to get some good quality Italian and I left wishing that's what I'd had! I ordered the peppercorn steak witch was cooked perfectly but the Alfredo that accompanied it was very over cooked and quite bland. The asparagus was so over cooked it has the consistency of flem and was left uneaten. The prices are moderate and so is the food. The lobster bisque was quite good, buttery and garlicky! Although there wasn't any lobster in it, there was a little crab meat. Not sure why they don't call it crab bisque! I wouldn't return for anything out her than the soup.
Review Source:Wow this place is impressive. Â Great food and excellent service. Â I had chicken parm which was very good. Â The wife had the pork chop stuffed with grab. Â She said it might be the best meal she had ever eaten. Â She doesn't make bold statements like that very often. Â The people here are so friendly and make sure you have a perfect dining experience. Â I wish I lived a little bit closer but will be back very soon.
Review Source:A super wow for food and a super dud for service. The website said open until 11pm on Friday, but evidently close at 10pm. We loved clam appetizer and specials and wine. But at 10pm full lights come on and checks are placed on tables. It becomes much more fast food central! Get OUT is the message -guess no dessert tonight!! We have been coming here for anniversaries and special occasions for 20 years but will NOT be back.
Review Source:Food was decent, probably a 3-3.5, but the service was horrible.
35 minutes for my entree. Â I finished my bread, and my drink was empty for 25 minutes. Â
He brought my food, and refilled the water.
The waiter never even asked me how my meal was, and my water glass  was empty after the meal.  I had to go to the hostess and ask for my check.
This was the worst service I've had in a restaurant in the past 15 years.
I'll try again sometime, just not with this waiter. Â Te waitress at the next table seemed attentive and friendly.
Veal w/eggplant was better than expected (a little salty for my taste). Â Atmosphere was much nicer than the outside, an the hostess and owner were friendly.
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. Â I have been going to Andiamo for years. Â
It is consistently delicious italian fare. Â From the red sauce standards, meat dishes, and seafood. Â I have had it all, and it is all good. Â
Good service.  Nice atmosphere.  Dependent upon the night the clientele can be a bit  off in terms of manners (after all this is Beltline Addison) spare me your words with friends play by play, but overall this is a can't miss for a very nice meal and experience.
The five of us were in Addison one evening and hungry for Italian food. Â
One of us had heard about Andiamo's and wanted to try it. Â What a wonderful surprise! Â It's a great Italian restaurant! Â Yep, they got their "saying" right; "Serving the finest Italian cuisine since 1990." Â
Their menu is divided into nine sections from Bread & Soups, Appetizers, Salads, Fish & Seafood, Pasta, Chicken, Veal, Beef & Pork, down to the Sides & Vegetables. Â
I had the Veal Marsala ($18.95) Medallions of veal with Marsala wine sauce & mushrooms. Â The tasty portion was just perfect. Â
Excellent service and really good food. Â
Each of the other four ordered something different and loved their meals. Â
We had a great time at Andiamo's!
Yelp totally disappointed me on this one.
Boyfriend (oops, I mean fiancee!) and I came here to celebrate our recent engagement. While I liked the quiet, romantic atmosphere, I was turned off by most everything else.
First off - although our waiter was nice it seemed like he was rushing us. Each dish we ordered came one right after the other. I felt like they were wanting to get us in and out even though there were no waiting patrons and they weren't super busy.
We each started off with a glass of wine and an order of the bruschetta. The appetizer was decent, but nothing amazing. Bread seemed a little too soft for my liking. I actually preferred the complimentary bread they give you more than what we ordered. It was soft on the inside with a crispy crust. We could have skipped the bruschetta altogether and I wouldn't have regretted it in the slightest.
Next up was the lobster bisque. This was the highlight of the night. I really enjoyed this soup...fiancee had the caprese salad which I didn't try.
While waiting for our main courses, I should point out that our waiter brought my fiancee the lasagna, but he ordered gnocchi. When this was pointed out the waiter took the lasagna back to the kitchen and came to tell us "your gnocchi is on its way." Once his gnocchi came he told me it tasted a bit under cooked and I agreed.
My main course was the salmon alfredo dish. It was ok I guess, but once again...nothing amazing. It was an odd combination - not awful, but I suppose I was expecting more given that this place was rated 4.5 stars.
The final disappointment came when the bill hit the table. With tip we paid close to $85 and it was nowhere near worth the money.
An excellent dining experience. Â Impeccable service, good selection of wines and good food.
The host was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a glass of wine each which was promptly brought out along with some fantastic bread and butter.
I had the Salmon with Fettuccine Alfredo ( never heard of this combination but it was surprisingly good) and the wife had Capellini Primavera with roasted vegetables and asked to make it spicy. It was spot on.
For dessert we tried the Italian flan ( supposedly Italys most favorite desert). I had no idea the Italians had a Flan. Â It turned out to be quite good with a nice crust at the bottom and a strong caramel flavor. the rest of the deserts were the usual suspects.. tiramisu etc etc..
It appears this restaurant has a very loyal following especially amongst the middle and upper middle age groups. The people working at the restaurant seemed to know a lot of the patrons and I can see why people keep coming back. I would.
The food was excellent!!! And the customer service?! Mo and Marco made my Mother and I feel like we were VIP guests! I don't think I've ever had the waiter place my cloth napkin on my lap for me. I have shied away from mussels because of a bad experience but Mo insisted I tried them here...Im glad he bent my arm to try them because they were great! And not to mention the sautéed calamari as well!
The low lighting was nice. Very relaxing place to enjoy a nice meal!
We will definitely be back!
Went here to celebrate my birthday. Â I had never been before, but trusted the other reviews for fellow Yelpers. Â I'm so glad I did! Â I love to try new places..something my fiance doesn't like to do, so I took a chance on this one. Â Again, so glad I did! Â From the Hostess to our waitress to the owner visiting our table a few times... the service was top notch!!!! Â AND THE FOOD?... Well, AMAZING! Â We eached ordered something different and passed it around. Â If only Italian food was healthier for you, we'd be going every week. Â Don't let the outside of the building fool you, once you walk through those doors, it is quite cozy, you'll experiencing exceptional service and eat the most amazing Italian food!
Review Source:It's been a little while, but my memory of this place is: Â very pleasant atmosphere (good decor, relatively quiet, very easy to hold a quiet conversation with your table), good service (attentive without lingering too often), better than average food. Â I've had several fish dishes here, and they were all prepared perfectly. Â The wine list was also pretty decent. Â The bill did add up very quickly, but I felt I got my money's worth here, moreso than the other similarly priced restaurants in the neighborhood. Â This would be a nice spot for a romantic dinner.
Review Source:Ever the procrastinator, I needed to find a place to have my birthday dinner for 12 people just a few days in advance. Moe was super nice on the phone, and told us to ask for him when we got there. FYI - he mentioned that if we were to split the check they'd just divide the amount evenly. Not an issue for us, but good to know in advance!
The food and service were incredible. When several of us down the table ordered the same wine unbeknownst to one another, Moe just brought us out a bottle to keep the cost down. Maintaining the wino status for cheaper? Always a plus. We were taken care of throughout the several hours we were there, and didn't feel rushed or hovered around at all.
And the food? YUM. I got the pasta with Italian sausage and let's just say it was gone and quickly. I tried bites of my friends' seafood pasta and eggplant parm, and it was all delish. The bread they brought out was good and crusty, and I got free cheesecake fed to me for my birthday! They also gave me a keychain, which is now a happy reminder of a great dinner.
Long story short, everybody seemed really happy with their food and we all had a great time. Will definitely be back!
This was my first time dining here. It can be a nice romantic spot or gathering with some friends. Either way, you're going to enjoy the atmosphere. The waiters, specifically, Moe, was fantastic. The appetizers were great. We had the crab claws and calamari and I recommend both, especially the crab claws.
As for the entree, order the stuff crab pork chops. They're nice size and the crab "stuffing" was so tasty. You'll receive larger portions so be prepared to grab a to go box.
Yes, I will be going back again!
Great find on Yelp! My colleague and I stumbled upon this place and weren't sure what to expect since it shares a driveway with a gas station. Fortunately, the food was delicious!
I had the Penne al Salmon which is penne with salmon in a vodka alfredo sauce, pretty nice.
Lee, trying to be healthy, had the Penne alla Rustica. I was jealous. Pasta with tomatoes over grilled vegetables sounded like it could be risky and bland, but it had great flavor.
You can't go wrong starting with the Minestrone soup.
Despite our rule to try a new restaurant every night, we've already returned once and I expect we'll become regulars as long as we're working in Addison.
We've come here on many occasions and every time I leave happy that I went. Â We like to come here on our birthdays.
The place is darkly lit to set the mood. Â I like to take pictures so I like things bright. Â Plus the fact that dimly lit settings make me sleepy, it's not for me, but we keep coming back.
There's complimentary bread. Â "You look nice today in that dress/tie," it says. Â It's a perfect vehicle to get the lightly salted butter from the plate to your stomach.
I almost always find myself going back to the Braciole di Maiale al Gradigo, it's a crab meat stuffed pork chop. Â It's the best pork chop in town. Â It comes with a side of linguine Alfredo and by itself would be superb - as a side dish it's a perfect match. Â The wife usually gets Chicken Marsala and enjoys it thoroughly.
The service is always top-notch. Â We're never short on water or bread.
It's usually pretty dead on Monday's, so that's a good time to go if you don't like crowds or waiting.
Andiamo in Italian means "we go". Â Indeed, Andiamo all the time and Andiamo for the food, service and ambiance.
My first taste of this classic restaurant in Addison: and what a great taste it was!
First - this is a classic Italian restaurant in every sense. From decor to service to cuisine, do not expect anything resembling 'cutting edge'. With that said, Andiamo is the place you go to revel in the standards of food and service that make dining out so enjoyable!
Mo, our knowledgeable and friendly server, was automatic. Not a step was missed or overlooked. I had just flown in and was visiting with my Mother, and he was able to read our table and know not to be too intrusive.
Mother had the crab stuffed shrimp with pasta. Granted, she never met a shrimp she didn't like, but she LOVED this dish. Rich, flavorful, and filling.
For myself, I followed the majority of reviews and got the stuffed pork chops with fettuccine Alfredo. The pork was great, tasty and rich. However, it was the Alfredo that made the dish amazing. Not sure what it was, there was an herbal quality to the taste that really made it special. And you know it was legit, because it wasn't dripping with cream - the more condensed sauce clung to the pasta like it's supposed to. Too many Italian wannabes just drown the pasta in cream and that's all you taste. Not so at Andiamo!!
So, overall, 5 stars to Mo and Andiamo. Keeping the tradition of service and quality alive in Addison, after all these years!
As someone who has frequented the Restaurant Row of Beltline for years with lackluster success, I am embarassed that it took me so long to try this place! Â Our party of 6 came in on a Saturday night and all of us enjoyed our food. Â Thanks to the recommendation of fellow yelpers I tried the seafood stuffed pork chop over fettucini alfredo - it was even on special with shrimp parmesean. Â I was the happiest person there. Â
I was really pleasantly surprised by the tomato mozzarella salad - everything is so fresh that you literally make it yourself. Â They serve you a red sliced tomato, some fresh basil sprigs, two sizable mounds of mozzarella, and place the balsamic and olive oil bottles to your left. Â Tear into that basil and make it your own! Â Thankyouverymuch!
My friends were pleased with the tortellini, the baby shrimp in lobster sauce, veal special and lobster bisque. Â This is no Olive Garden. Â
I'll be back.
Had been here before and today a friend recommended it again.
Great idea!
Make sure you're hungry before showing up for lunch. Â The soup is not a small bowl....and their entrees (Had the Salsiccia Stile Chianti, which was really spicy Italian sausage with fettuccini Alfredo).
Very tasty too!
Great service and excellent prices!!
Can you tell I enjoyed it? Â Forget those chains in Addison...come here for great Italian food!!
Parking can get tight.
We stopped in here for lunch recently on a whim, what a nice surprise.
I had it in my mind that it was expensive, but it really wasn't at all.
They start you off with warm bread that is delicious. The outside was crispy but not hard, and the inside was soft and light. I great start.
I ordered the lasagna, at lunch you get your choice of soup or salad with the pasta entrees, so I opted for the salad. You never really know what you are going to end up with when you order a house salad, but I was glad to see a plate arrive with no iceberg lettuce in sight. The house dressing was nice and light, a perfect compliment to the greens. The lasagna was amazing, they must make their own pasta because this stuff was seriously delicious.
We didn't save room for dessert, but the table next to us did. I refrained from stealing a bite when they weren't looking, who says I have no self control? Â It looked really good, I will be partaking in dessert on my next visit.
The atmosphere is dark and romantic, the service was flawless and me and my food baby were happy at the end of the meal. Â Success.
Andiamo is a good Italian place in Addison. Â If I could give it 3 and a half stars, I probably would. Â I'd say it's better than "A-Ok", but I wouldn't call myself exactly a "fan" yet either.
When you walk in, you can see that it's a smaller place (not a bad thing), and it's decorated very nicely. Â
Anyhow, the food was good, but nothing too outstanding / five star worthy. Â I had the tortellini, and it was good though nothing incredibly special that would warrant writing home about it. Â I think if I had to do it over again, I'd try something with their Alfredo sauce.
Their selection was good on their menu, but I would have liked a few more options. Â One that I was looking for was Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken, but I didn't see it. Â (Now that I look at their online lunch menu for it, I see one with Italian sausage, which I'll probably try next time I'm in that neck of the woods.)
Also, I don't think that it's very expensive for an Italian restaurant. Â (For lunch dishes were about 10 bucks a plate.) Â That's about what I would expect at any Italian restaurant. Â I'd say prices are very reasonable, and certainly don't warrant the "3 dollar sign" rating of this restaurant. Â (Unless, perhaps, you get a steak and wine at dinner time or something.)
Summing up, Andiamo is a great non-chain option in Addison for an Italian restaurant. Â However, depending on how I feel, I might go to a place like Carrabba's instead, as I think their menu is a little less limited.
I dined here last week when a friend suggested we meet at a quiet place in Addison where we could take our time and talk for a couple of hours. Â
She was delighted with the atmosphere and the food as I was.
I typically order the sole Andiamo because I love fish and it is sooo good. Â I have had a few other pasta dishes there that were good, but I keep coming back for the sole!
We were bad and split the cappicino pie. Â It was delicious. Â I also love their Tiramisu.
The fact that the Chanti is good an reasonably priced for Dallas area helps too.
I love this place, partly because so few people know it as the gem it is and partly because the atmoshpere, food, and drinks all rock! Â It is quiet and perfect for dates. Â The wine list is good, but they pour a mean cocktail too. Â
The waitstaff never changes, which is something I totally respect. (no teenage goof off's in here). Â I've never been disappointed in the food, in fact, I've even branched out and ordered items that I would not normally order such as the pasta with clams and mussels. Â The fiance almost always sticks to the stuffed pork chop, which is excellent.
Welcome to Italy...or as close as it gets in N Dallas. Relaxing and comfortable atmosphere with attentive professional service. A wide and appealing wine list - the waiter recommended a mildly priced bottle on special for $39, and although we stepped up to another choice it was good to have a lesser priced choice.
Food was fabulous. I had the lamb chop, highly recommend it, and look forward to doing so again soon.
Love this place!
The bestie and I like trying new restaurants & we both loved it. Great ambiance - quaint, full of character & could be super romantic.
The water is delicious, crisp and clean. The bread is soft inside & crispy outside served with softened butter. Wine list was extensive as was the dessert menu.
I had the lobster bisque to start, then the tortellini bolognese & it was all good. The bisque was creamy and flavorful but not heavy at all. The tortellini was perfectly seasoned as well & full of meat.
The prices were reasonable for what you get & the service was great! Mo was our server & he was both knowledgeable & accomodating.
This would be a great restaurant to take a date to. My friend & I enjoyed a great meal & great conversation without too much distraction. Â
Trust me, it's worth the trip!
Are your eyes deceiving you? Nope, this is my first 5 Star review of a restaurant!
Andiamo gets my first five start badge. I love this place.
Don't let the few extra dollars scare you away from a great meal! I have only been for lunch, keep in mind, but the food and service have always been outstanding!
This is a white tablecloth, cloth napkin, kind of place. I often feel under dressed, but the staff make me feel like I fit right in. I have had some of the most attentive service I have ever had in this price range. I would call it almost Magical. Tea refills happen with a slight of hand, now you see it, now you don't flair. I have never sucked ice or slurrped straws here!
The food is incredible from the bread and butter to the cheesecake and coffee! Even the tea is exceptional. Everyday for lunch they have a special that includes, soup or salad, choice of entree (always includes a fish of the day), and a decadent dessert.
Go on Thursday if you are a Lobster Bisque person, it's some of the best I've had in Texas my friends. Perfectly seasoned, creamy, rich with large chunks of Lobster, OMB (oh my Buddha) it puts me in a different place, a place where dinosaur sized lobsters dance under butter and cream waterfalls, with nearby hot springs for steaming.......... I digress. The Minestrone is unbelievable as well.
My faves here are the stuffed pork chops. Huge loin chops stuffed with a delightful blend of fresh and imitation crab (surimi). Pan fried preparation creates a great crust and a tasty sauce to boot.
Chicken Cordon Bleu. I know a bit banal and 1970's, but they really put out a juicy, succulent bit of bird. Fresh ingredients and proper preparation makes this dish timeless.
Served with some of the best fettucini in Alfredo I have ever tasted. I'm not sure if they make it fresh there, but it sure tastes like it.
For dessert? NY Style cheesecake is my favorite and the piece they bring you is the size of a football.
Do yourself a favor, check your couch, floorboards of your car, pockets of jeans, whatever. Scrape together a few more bucks and go to Andiamo, your mind and body will thank you, in Italian!
Ciao! See it's starting already..................
OMG, food-gasm. Â Andiamo serves up casual elegance in a way Olive Garden (the comparison is non-existent) can only dream. Â The Fuzz and I have been here twice, and each time we've been incredibly impressed by the food, atmosphere, and service. Â
The perfectly-lit one-room/intimate dining area is so cozy that conversation flows freely. Â Be patient if you're one of those "I've been sitting here for 5 seconds, flock to me o ye waiters" kind of people. Â This is a (non-snotty) dining EXPERIENCE, so the staff likes to let you settle in and let the day's cares slide off before approaching you. Â Both of the waiters I've had have been so knowledgeable about the menu and wine list I'm prone to jealousy. Â
The food is excellence incarnate. Â The sauces, the meats, the pasta....served perfectly cooked and at the right temperature in large portions. Â
The wine list is quaint, but exceptionally diverse and careful to include snotty selections (ugh, Opus One, you are NOT $225 worth of cool) and several wonderfully-priced selections (some easily recognized, some not). Â Andiamo is one of the few places I completely trust to make a wine suggestion that I know I'll absolutely love.
When you go (and you WILL go), get the full experience: appetizer, wine, main course, and by gawd don't skip dessert. Â The cheesecake is a cut above (only Saltgrass beats it). Â Try their specials or a seafood dish. Â And then, go back at least once a month.
Beltline Rd in Addison is LITTERED with restaurants, and this one is among the best. Â Its on the corner of Midway, across from Duke's and squished between a Shell station and a new string-o-shops. Â Go. Â Go now!!
I had dinner here with two business associates on a Thursday night. Very light crowd. Nice looking bar area, but our guest was ready to eat so we were seated as soon as we asked.
Nice crusty house bread arrived within a minute of sitting down.
Lots of wines by the glass with an extensive collection of Chiantis, etc.
We had a house minestrone soup and two ceasar salads to start. Ceasar salad tasted like it was made right before it was brought to table. Â No other appetizers were ordered.
For dinner I had their seafood linguine. It was a mix of clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops and calamari over the linguine. Easily enough for two if you overdid the appetizers... I really enjoyed it and found each of the seafood items to be cooked perfectly - you know how sometimes some part of the seafood will be overdone or underdone - that is DEFINITELY not the case here.
I didn't try their deserts. They accommodated a friend's request for a bowl of fruit even though that wasn't on the menu by putting together one from other items on menu. Nice touch...
Only reason this was 4 * instead of 5 * was a couple of service items that irked me.
